@shakalamon I saw Scale the Summit on their latest tour. They were amazing. It was one of the best overall performances I've ever seen. I saw Rush last summer and it was amazing. But Scale the Summit is going to be huge in the next 10 years. Check out their new album "The Collective". Just as good as anything Dream Theater has ever written.
Last couples of DT shows James has been sounding great, the newer songs have got harmonies for him to sing along to which assist him a lot without the need for his own voice to be tuned. Let me say, I'm a huge James Labrie fan, but I was just wandering if anyone that has any knowledge regarding this video/show/recording might know if there were overdubs or tune ups done on the vocals post show? I just say this because this is without a doubt the best Live version of this song that I've heard.
@123454321qcat For all we know, it could have been in post. This was definitely not a normal concert with all the camera angles and such. There had to been at least a camera crane or two, a few cameras mounted in addition to a few camera guys running around. You can even seem them in some shots. The crane shots are obvious too.

Dream Theater is a group of a very talented musicians, of which many can't hold a candle to, but even considering that there are a numerous amount of extra noise happening in a live performance. To get it as well sounding as it is heard here, is virtually impossible w/o some editing. Everything is so crisp and leveled so well. It could have been live ,but from your point of view, things can't be done that much in real time (live).

Autotune is used on everyone, even great musicians these days live and in the studio. It's a sad and an unfortunate fact. Hearing it from a band like Dream Theater really hurts as a big fan. I have a degree in music production, so yes, I do know a thing or two about sound production, which I don't need to prove to you.
@123454321qcat Effects like autotune can easily be turned on and off and faded in for saturation amount in real time during a live performance. If you've been in the studio, you should know what I mean. Their techs probably have plenty of experience and are good at what they do, that's whey the get paid. All in all, I can't 100% say there is auto tune, I wasn't there. At those moments, it truly sounds like it. It is surely used on them in the studio.

But Petrucci does the higher harmonies, LaBrie does the middle ones, even in the record, if you can access to the isolated stems, check the vocals
