I saw this movie because of the classic song "ye mera deewaanapan hai .." and realised that the song is much better than the rest of the film. You can have your opinion about it, but I think acting levels were quite theatrical (perhaps coz those days that was the benchmark of acting) and the flow of the story and script was very abrupt. The movie seems to have been based on some Shakespearean drama considering the poetic/ tragic end which was good for those times but needs to be presented in a better and more convincing manner in today's times. However, I must say that there were a few things good about the film too. 1. The song (mentioned earlier) 2. The beautiful poetic dialogues. 3. The romantic chemistry in each encounter of Marcus and Hanna. 4. The innocent charm and beauty of Meena Kumari ji. 5. The underrated yet amazing performance of the actor who played Hanna's father (I will Google about him once done writing this). 6. The poetic end of the film which leaves you wanting for more and imagining. As for Dilip Kumar ji, he was a good actor I'm sure, but I found his acting a bit over the top and not realistic (just like most super stars). I repeat, it might be perhaps coz in those times theater style announcement mode of dialogue delivery was the norm. Overall, my curiosity about this film has been quenched and now please don't abuse me about my review (although Internet is a free place and you might do so if your parenting allows you to). 😁 Thanks 🙏🏼

I saw this movie because of the classic song "ye mera deewaanapan hai .." and realised that the song is much better than the rest of the film. You can have your opinion about it, but I think acting levels were quite theatrical (perhaps coz those days that was the benchmark of acting) and the flow of the story and script was very abrupt. The movie seems to have been based on some Shakespearean drama considering the poetic/ tragic end which was good for those times but needs to be presented in a better and more convincing manner in today's times.
However, I must say that there were a few things good about the film too.
1. The song (mentioned earlier)
2. The beautiful poetic dialogues.
3. The romantic chemistry in each encounter of Marcus and Hanna.
4. The innocent charm and beauty of Meena Kumari ji.
5. The underrated yet amazing performance of the actor who played Hanna's father (I will Google about him once done writing this).
6. The poetic end of the film which leaves you wanting for more and imagining.
As for Dilip Kumar ji, he was a good actor I'm sure, but I found his acting a bit over the top and not realistic (just like most super stars). I repeat, it might be perhaps coz in those times theater style announcement mode of dialogue delivery was the norm.
Overall, my curiosity about this film has been quenched and now please don't abuse me about my review (although Internet is a free place and you might do so if your parenting allows you to). 😁
