Yeah there were a lot of comments about that way back when I first uploaded the review. For me there was never any question, there must be a driver because cars do not commit sexual assault.
On some of the interior shots a hand can be seen on the steering wheel. There are 2 in the car, the obvious driver and an accomplice. How else could someone be snatched into this car from the passenger side?
There’s evidence that there’s probably 2 people in the car because there needs to be a driver and someone to snatch the kid from the side of the road I think it may be both ( and also the guy in the car must have been a stunt driver because some of the stunts the guy managed to pull off are really impressive )
Thing is, there are 3 times you can see inside the car and it appears empty. You never see hands when the kids get pulled in, and it's weird how they'd survive two cliff dives. Plus all that weird crap about how nobody ever seemed to notice the car and those who did don't seem to remember it, always figured it was some type of supernatural aspect to it. There was definitely a stunt driver though. We don't know for sure about sexual assault, we just get that vague radio broadcast saying they showed "signs" of it. I ended up making up my own explanations
Hey TMV, I have a lot of recommendations for you to check out! The Ambulance (1990) Creep Van (2012) Highwaymen (2004) Knight Rider (1980s) The Terminator (it did have some really awesome car chases) Sometimes They Come Back (1996) The Haunted Car from RL Stein’s The Goosebumps
The Ambulance really is a crazy, kickass flick. I mean, it's tonally all over the place, but it's never slow or badly written, and even contains a few weird little cultural artifacts.
Random Info about Wheels Of Terror: If anyone is interested: The opening shots (about the first 8 minutes) of the 74 Charger was filmed in Tucson, AZ on Soldier Trail between Ft. Lowell Road and Calle De Samuel Drive. I drove to work each day on Soldier Trail, one day on the way home found a bunch of trailers and film trucks parked on the side of the road - this was probably late 1989. I pulled off and asked what they were filming. One of the camera guys told me about the movie "Wheels Of Terror" they were filming for cable TV. There were two of these '74 chargers there at the time. Really cool to see the beater Charger up close! Possible that they shot some other footage of this car on Wentworth Road in Tucson as well. Anyone who knows the eastside Tucson area will recognize Soldier Trail and the Catalina Mountain range in the background. A couple of tweaks in the script it could have been a solid entry into the killer car genre - Duel, Christine, Wraith (Filmed In Tucson), The Car (which they pretty much ripped off for this movie). Some good thrills and chills, but the unseen psycho creep in the menacing Charger gets the starring role over the rest of the cast and script. If you like Wheels Of Terror, be sure to see THE CAR (1977) with James Brolin, Ronny Cox, and Satan. It doesn't have the scrumptious Joanna Cassidy in the cast, but it's a badass killer car movie all the same. P.S. There were tons of these VHS copies in every Dollar Tree / Dollar General stores for .99 cents about 10 years back. Don't fret - Pretty easy to find this movie on dvdr with artwork on various internet sites nowadays for $10 - $15 bucks. Over and Out......👿
I quite liked this film; probably one of my favorite television films. Probably one of the best car chases I’ve seen in a film, and fear of the unknown.

It's a '73 or '74 Charger with the front end crushed down to look scarier. Those weird hood vents are definitely not factory. The 1970 Dodge Coronet/Super Bee had a similar front end though.

I don't know if you'd be willing to review something animated but the original 1967 anime "SPEED RACER" has some vehicles I would consider "Killer Cars". In "The Race For Revenge" Part 1& 2 (Ep 12 and 13) feature the "X3"/"Melange" (based off the Jaguar xj13) which causes some "Terrible Crashes". While in the episodes "The Fastest Car on Earth" (Ep 20 and 21) focusses around an eerie overpowered engine "The GRX" which may or may not be super-natural and has also caused many "Terrible Crashes." You may find the contrast of the colorful fast-talking characters in surprisingly dire situations to be intriguing. You can actually find these episodes on TH-cam in decent quality.
