Having listened to several interpretations of this beautiful melody harmonised by Bach I think, without doubt that Svetla’s version is the best by far, the way she plays the piece is clear and moving. It has a special quality that stays with you long after the performance has finished.
A little slower than usual. However when you listen to the piece it becomes very calming and relaxing. It slowed me down and played it several times. Nice thank you Svetlana.
Total precision and tone quality. I admire the fractional rubato on the passing notes. Such beauty exists within, on paper, a piece which appears so simple.
This is absolutely brilliant playing. Wonderful control of tone across all the played notes, fantastic balance, wonderful use of tempo changes for feeling. Bravo indeed.
A nouveau grand merci...
Wonderful, I have listened to your beautiful version a million times it seems to me and never get tired. You played it so emotionally and softly,... it is beautiful.
Thanks, dude! You have a great sense of appreciation of true music. It doesn't matter if Bach wrote this himself, or the other guy Stölzel, what matters here is that even after all those centuries, we are still being touched by this wonderful music. Thanks again, Peter, you could not have worded it any better. And thank you, Svetla, you will always remain in my favourite list.
This piece is another hidden gem of Bach; I recently found this via alarm clock through TH-cam music. and the women's interpretation is outstanding(actually this was not composed by the great JS Bach but by stolzen)
Stolzer, not Stolzen, but it is not completely clear and confirmed by musicologists. Anyway, Bach's handwriting undoubtedly added some extraordinary spirit into it, with choral caracter of leading voices and specific ballance of musical content, positioning ideas and thus editing such a lovely little piece of art.
I used to play it on the piano when I was a child. It stated in my book that it was a love song for his wife Anna Magdalena. I loved it so much I had it at my wedding and then called my daughter Anna.
Funny, because it wasn't even written by Bach, but rather by Gottfried Heinrich Stölzel, from his opera. It's amazing to me how this Bach attribution just doesn't go away just because it was in Anna's notebook!
It is really peaceful. Do you know how to find a score for piano solo version? A friend of mine really wants to play this on her piano recital but failed to find a score even in IMSLP.
The piano playing was so tender and loving that I was moved to tears. And this beautiful lady played this with her "Augen zu" Eyes closed. BRAVA!!!! Magnificent!!!!!! I sing this in German and I'm just wondering what key this is played in as it was higher than I'm used to, but I can sing that high, I just wasn't expecting it.
This glorious playing really transcends a "musical performance" in the usual sense of the phrase. I return to it again and again with pleasure. What a pity, however, that the pianist's hands and the sound are not synchronised in this video.
I keep coming back to this. She just lets the music itself speak.
My favorite petformance of this piece 🎼

This is the greatest performance of this piece I know. Sublime.
I hope you will enjoy my a capella version :). th-cam.com/video/lD6MQK0X3Es/w-d-xo.html
I’m back again to draw peace and comfort from your performance, thank you
We are all anxiously waiting for more.
A little slower than usual. However when you listen to the piece it becomes very calming and relaxing. It slowed me down and played it several times. Nice thank you Svetlana.
Very beautiful played. Best interpretation I have heard so far.
Total precision and tone quality. I admire the fractional rubato on the passing notes. Such beauty exists within, on paper, a piece which appears so simple.
The pianist here brings such gentle interpretation to the piece. The dynamics are sublime. Well done!
Best performance ever full of subtle dynamics in a moment to moment of being in the now, I had never heard or seen this wonderful pianist ❤
My thoughts exactly.
Beautiful, simply beautiful.
This is absolutely brilliant playing. Wonderful control of tone across all the played notes, fantastic balance, wonderful use of tempo changes for feeling. Bravo indeed.
She fills that piano with tremendous emotion, not easy to do, bravo!
I listen to this rendition, after trying to play this piece on my piano and appreciate the near perfection in Swetla Protich's performance!
The purest, most moving rendition, I´ve ever heard. Haven´t actually heard it before, but it is brilliant.
I think i have died and gone to heaven. Thank you mystro Svetlana.
After hearing many interpretations of this beautiful piece, this one is the most perfect, the most exquisitely played, and deserves to be heard more.
Totally agree, listening to this performance daily has helped me get through a difficult and stressful time in my life.
@@evanofelipe same here (you might also like Charles Daniels version (Netherlands Bach Society) which is perfectly sung.)
Wonderful tone, such reverence and grace! Perfection!
This is the purest of the pure. So touching! Thank you, Mrs. Protich.

A simple special piece made even more beautiful.
Absolute purity! Thank you, Ms. Protich.
Beautiful, and inspiring. Intensely musical performance.
This is a prayer. You can almost hear Bach speaking to God. How I would love to pray like this. God would listen.
It wasn't actually written by Bach but by one of his pupils.
A nouveau grand merci...

Wonderful playing! Thank you so much, Mrs. Svetla Protich. I think, this was the version I heard at the end of the film „Schwesterlein“...
This was beautiful, thanks for sharing.
Really beautiful.
One of my favourite musical pieces ever.
Thank you for such a heartfelt interpretation. Means much to me.
Purity and love itself!

fantastic performance
sublime
So deep a purity...!
Bravissimo
I like this piece too.
I decided to practice it because I saw this performance.

Your playing is so expressive, sensitive and inspiring that I use it to sing the Bist Du Bei Mir lyric song, thanks for sharing it ! :)
absolutely absolut.
Absolutely gorgeous
Lovely feeling. Expressive but not over done
I love this

So beautiful
What awesome control of her finger strength.
Beautiful
1st time seeing this video: “Huh! Never heard this before. Sounds a little weird.”.
10th time listening to this: Joyous heart and misty eyed.
Amazing! Any good soul who'd know where to get the music sheet for this particular arrangement?

remind me of when i did my sydney tour and i had to sing this
thanks for this beautuful music. is it possible to get a copy of the sheet music? thanks and best regards
Quand le piano se fait chanteur ! Bravissimo !
De qui est la transcription ?
This glorious playing really transcends a "musical performance" in the usual sense of the phrase. I return to it again and again with pleasure. What a pity, however, that the pianist's hands and the sound are not synchronised in this video.
At any store that sells music score. Search for J. S. Bach's Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach...
De quien es el arreglo?
