    Thanks for the help. I'm not very mechanically talented but this was clear enough for me to tackle this on my Xterra. Seeing it without the cover in the way made it easier to understand. I went ahead and got the Dorman outlet assembly with the aluminum connector, along with the Z1 billet inlet. My parts haven't failed yet but I figured it was a good time to add some peace of mind since I needed a coolant flush anyway. Good tip with the soapy water.

    Great video it was fun to be installed. However, you should get the Z1billet heather instead of putting the factory one. Why? It's because like you saw they always blow up right there on the billet heather which was the first one that you installed. The heather billet from Z1 has a screw on it to release the air pressure from the heather. I thought you could use this advice. Thanks for the video.

    I believe they sell that firewall heater hose that runs from the front of the engine to the back of it with an aluminum T section, It's an after market part by Dorman Part # 626-598
    They also make the nipple in aluminum that goes into the left side fire wall inlet of the heater core Also made by Dorman part # 626-610
    Maybe when you did this video, those Aluminum OEM hoses were not out yet?
    I'm looking to upgrade mine soon as well since I have to both valve covers as the passenger side one is leaking.
    It should make the hose replacing job easier since Engine Covers and plenum will be out of the way?
    Just those I'd pass you the upgraded hose info.

    • @DIYWilly
      @DIYWilly  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hello EH, Im not too familiar with the 01 model year truck, but I don’t believe there is a control valve like so many other vehicles have. Does your engine get up to temp? When you switch on the heat do you hear the hum of the motors switching from cold to heat? Some problems can be caused by a faulty thermostat. Flushing the system and replace the thermostat can help. Flushing includes the heater core. But be careful you can damage the core and that’s a much bigger problem. Also there is a resistor that controls fan speed. Does your heater fan work and does the speed change. That’s really everything I can think of. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!!!
      Also check the cabin air filters. They should located behind the glove box. They can get clogged up easily over the years with dirt and debris..

      Most the time it’s just debris that has found its way in to the fan. Yes it happens. Should be able to remove the fan just under the glove box by gently press the tap and twist the housing to remove motor and fan. Then unplug wires and clean out debris and reinstall. Sometimes though the fan is just tired and requires replacement. But I would bet there is debris in the fan. Good luck bud..
