Voted! Hey bud now that you mentioned Low riders I got a question; You think you might ever like to do your version of a straight up, So Cal style, Low Low? Man I'd LOVE to see your take on that style!!!
I rescue and restore VW busses/pickups and 50’s to 71’s transporters in Charleston, SC. I’m 78 and have learned a lot from your channel. You and Fitzee are my favorites, I have always said “hang” and it lifts me up to hear it. I’m staying tuned in each day to see what you are working on. I’m distracted easily and jump around on my projects also. I feel a kinship through your channel. Merkman
I met “Crustie” in Shrewsbury Massachusetts at a VW show and he had the Single Cab with “Raymond Lumber” on it along with some bicycle s he built. He is a very experienced, talented, energetic person. Busses are a lot of fun, especially the unibody construction.
Learning every day. My favorite so far is the second Bugatti out of the old Chevy. Looking forward to seeing that finished and painted. Favorite tip is using exhaust pipe and welding panels. Watching this last 8 mos has given me the kick in the backside to make an HHR into a pickup. I am 65, retired 10 years and this is my 3rd project. '52 Chevy pickup, original frame with S-10 components, including the Iron Duke, Mustang II front and steering. A '95 Chevy van conversion build....James
Chad, I'm in upstate New York with my project in my unheated garage (it was -23f last week) so I'm "working" on it vicariously through you and your videos until it gets above freezing. I'm addicted to your videos and feel like I'm in your garage helping you. Thanks for all your hard work and Jolene's efforts. I know it must be hard to keep up sometimes. Keep on keepin' on.
Your tips n Technics have helped me greatly in the restoration of my 66 Mustang, I only which I had the room to do all of the work in house. My car is currently at the body shop. The owner has been great to me, he is allowing me to come in and get dirty with the blocking and sanding. I've replaced all the fender, doors hood and trunk lid .Welded in the new floor pan all at home before it went to the shop. Keep up the great work. Keep fighting the good fight.
Hi Brad and Jolene, Its Matman from Western Maryland. I just came in from working on my car all weekend and watched you latest video. You inspire me to keep working on my 69 mustang restoration project. I love to hear your prospective/ process on building cars. Kind of a insight into the way you think. I adore the way you pamper, respect and admire Jolene. Cheers!
i love that coral paint, GM used 'carosel red' on the 1969 GTO judge, and chevy called it "hugger orange". very similar. the car's gonna look great, i can tell.
It’s amazing to me that you can keep so many different projects going at the same time. Also amazes me that you can keep the inventory of the location of all your items in your head. Congratulations.
It’s like his head is a computer. He’s knows where his glasses are and his hat. My shop is also a mess but I still know where everything is just like Chady does.
I love how I can enjoy Chad chatting and basically watching tape dry … lol…. Not a snub , love watching real world details and a master practitioner at work !!
My oldest brother had a 56 mercury black and white I wanted it so bad when I was young, the car was sold before I was able to drive, he has passed away now and you are bringing back a lot of great memories ,thank you very much I will keep watching as long as you keep doing
Great colorcombination! In my hometown you can take free newsletters at every busstation. These are great for masking up because the journalistic work they do is for toilet or masking only. have a great day
A lot of people don't realize, just how much work actually goes into just, "Trimming one out"!!! The fact that you're going through this amount of work, with the inner trim and jambs, makes me think want to see the entire finished job. CHEERS buddy, from an old body man, from North Carolina, U.S.A.
Thank you for all you do on here you have really gave me the confidence that I can do my car I have been wanting to do it for some time now I have had it for 34 years it’s a 1970.5 Camaro it was my mom n dad’s car and they are both gone now
That’s a great year Camaro. Some of them are very desirable depending on the options. I don’t know what your plans are for the car but if it’s drivable and you are thinking about restoring it my advice would be to do one thing at a time. The suspension is usually a good place to start. If it’s your first car it would be wise to keep it in drivable condition between jobs. Too many people have dreams about building a beautiful car and they start by taking everything apart. Often times the result is that the car never gets put back together because the owner gets overwhelmed. This advice may or may not apply to your project.
hey chad my lil trick for shaking rattle cans is i take an old caulk gun i cut the everything off besides the housing that hold the tube and i weld it to an old sawzaw blade and use my sawzaw with the housing of the caulk gun i strap it inside of it so it don't fly out and wanna talk about a can shaker brutha that thing sounds like a machine gun... Hope that helps you out it works great for me it really cuts my time in more than half when painting from a can. let us know how that works out for you.
I’m making a custom Packard Speedster two seater. Fir 15 years I have thought of this car in two tones, dark green and an Ivory. Last week I was preparing to order the Connolly leather in those colors when I noticed a ‘55 Packard red. I started revising my color sketches and now have convinced myself that the Ivory and Red are more appropriate colors. And today, for the proof you are using a VERY similar scheme. I love it. Thanks for the inspiration. Hi Jolene! 🤌🏽.
Good evening jolene and chad hope all is well with you and your family and thank you for sharing your knowledge and information on your journey also congratulations to all the winners
I love the nuggets of knowledge that you drop daily. Not only car-wise, but about life in general. Too few times are people honest and open enough to admit their mistakes to keep other people from doing the same. Thank you Chad and Ms. Jolene!
You are doing Gods work, son. Thumbs Up! 👍🏼 👍🏼 👍🏼 Historical note: Chad & Jolene eventually got married and had a son. Chad's channel rose to prominence on the ability to draw viewers in with his work videos by the thousands. His friendly demeanor, humbly honest presence & bravely independent attitude as he assertively states frequently "I am doing it my way, you do it your own way". Many people are drawn to that combination of characteristics. He is providing vicarious employment and enjoyment and inspiration - especially needed during the "covid years" when staying home became commonplace for humanity, eroding existant infrastructural norms and values as we all began to deal with societal & cultural interrelational issues at the same time as a world wide pandemic. At this time, we witnessed the rise of Jordan Peterson and subsequent early examinations & conversations about "the meaning crisis" .
Hey Joelene & Chad My husband Peter and I watch everyday from Ontario Canada. We think you 2 lovebirds are awesome! Thanks for sharing your experience and talents it's certainly a learning curve. Cheers , Cyndy and Peter
Chad and Jolene I want to thank you for the videos. I'm not a car builder but I enjoy watching the talent you two have. I look forward to the end of the day when all is done and I can watch your videos.
Chad after watching this for third time ,I doing my dash . I painted mine white on the back side with just a cheap spray bomb . Helps bring light if I have to do under dash work. I am going to two tone my outside of dash because you gave me the inspiration to go that extra step.
Just found your channel a couple of weeks ago and now I'm hooked on them. Great video's. Everyone involved is doing an outstanding job. Thanks for posting them.
The preparation on the two tone for the dash & the prep for the trunk lid looks great. Good team work as usual. Thanks Mark Dutka Oakville Ontario Canada
Good luck Jolene. You could always get a job as a cinematographer. Or give lessons to other youtubers that think they know how to film. Projects are looking good. And you are absolutely correct, anyone who asks why it takes so long, or costs so much to paint a vehicle, has never been involved with it or done it. You were right about complaining as well. Take your five minutes to blow off steam, just so your head doesn't explode, then you take a deep breath smile and move along. Y'all keep up the great work. Just found your videos so I've been binge watching. Will be subscribing and following y'alls builds.
To make the tape less sticky for direct adhearsion to new paint, stick the tape onto your pants first to pick up some fibrous lint then apply it to the fresh paint. It will greatly lesson the tape's adhearsion. 😃
A good reminder that proper planning and preparation work are a major portion of realizing a quality outcome. A lesson I learned well from growing up around car people and garages, and paying attention.
