I love the window solution, fiddly, but I'm sure I've seen something like that on other cars, great work on the fly Chad, and If Jolene doesn't get to the finals, at least we can say she's our top jet-setter anyway, she has all the chats support, we're behind her 100%
Still loving watching every day. It really feels like hanging out at a buddies shop. Really would like to believe y'all are as genuine and down to earth as you seem. I feel like I know you both like I could walk up to you at a car show and feel we are friends.
Love to see people that still use problem solving skills to work through things. You and Jolene are both amazing folks, hope for nothing but great things for you guys
I love to watch the detailed fabrication that you don't see on the other channels. These little things are a big part of the build, but are never seem in detail. Keep keeping it real. Bill
Yo Chad . The window channel on most cars bolts in on the bottom so the glass can be started easier by loosening the track. Good luck with your installation.
I’m really enjoying the work you are doing on Elvis I like the concept of the leather strap pulling the window up but then second thought I also like what you mentioned about a metal lever of some type where it will attach to the bottom of the window and slide up and down and have a notch the inside of the inside door panel with some type of polished knob on the end I voted for Jolene today no matter what the outcome Jolene will always be our queen
Love the way u think and plan and then make and install. Jolene is a great person and deserves the best out of life no matter what happens. Best of luck to u and Chad.
I love this tab & screw solution. I can't help but wonder if a similar technique would have worked to attach the entire upper (exposed portion) of the window channels to the lower portions by cutting access holes in the interior door skin at the appropriate locations. That would have allowed you to maintain the welded joints at the top corners of the window frame.
I was watching your video of where you used the chrome trim on the dash. Very glad I did, I purchased the same trim on Amazon (3M) adhesive and applied it to my Road King I modified, wet sanded, primed and painted in my garage. The chrome trim was the icing on the cake.
It's a great idea. Back in the day a lot of the drag cars like the Dodge Dart 426s removed the window mechanism and used seat belts similar to what you are doing. Thanks for sharing.
