HOWdy S-D-E,
Thanks for the WALK-THRU

With LiFePO4 batteries you should not use voltage for balancing but state of charge. I balanced my batteries by hooking them all in parallel and charged it to max and letting them sit. I’m working on the same setup. Great video and information. Love the goat!!
Thanks for the quick response. Will do...
Sure thing 😎
any chance on getting a 1 year system update
and a system pros and cons .. otherwise known as woulda coulda shoulda
.
but
thanks for all you have done already
I love the goat supervisor 🐐😊
Awesome set up, are you completely "off grid" ? Glad to see you back, I was wondering what you have been up to.
Hi, yes have been super busy with very little time for editing videos. We are completely utility independent.
Steve, I have two LV6548 inverters now operating in single phase 120 mode. I plan to set up this dual system into 240v split phase operation. I am looking at page 53 of the operators manual under One inverter in each phase.I assume this is the proper diagram for 240V split phase operation. Looking at the Communication Connection diagram I noticed that there are NO connections indicated for the additional 4-pin cables listed on all the other wiring diagrams. I this a misprint? If so what is the proper placement of the second set of 4-pin communication cables
Hi, the LV6548 comes with a grey vga style coms cable and a red and black cable. When you connect the LV 6548 in parallel for split phase 240 volt output you only need to connect the grey coms cables between the inverters. You’ll need to use both grey cables. The area in which you connect them is located towards the back of the connections area under a black access panel.
I’m not sure if my last comment went through. I really like your setup. What wattage panels did you use? Getting near that 8kw per inverter is extremely difficult with the lv6548’s because of the VOC limit. I need to build a couple batteries like this also for my pair of these inverters. Where did you order those cells from?
Hi. Thanks for watching. The panels Were purchased at open box items from Santan Solar and are 390 watt bifacial Canadian solar panels. They are around 10.7 amps and 44 volts. These aren’t exact as I’m not in front of that info right now. Because the lv6548s have lower VOc limit 250, I connected 5 panels in series. Max output with bifacial power can be up to 50 volts. The batteries I purchased from Ducan Power. I delt with Amy and she was very professional and attentive.
@@SteveDoesEverything I have similar panels. I ended up going with 4 panels in series because it can get cold in Virginia and I could exceed that voc limit. You might be in a warmer climate like Florida and that won’t be an issue. You are going to love those inverters. When I ditched for the power from solar shed to my house I installed cat 6 cable in the ditch also. The screens can be detached. So I have my displays for both inverters in my laundry room. It makes it much easier to monitor things.
Ditto for us. LG390W Bifacials : 4 x 49.2 Voc x 1.25 = 246V, just under the LV's limit. 5 in series is pushing it IMO for us in very cold winter.
What combiner box did you use? Prebuilt or you purchased the components? Reason - many of the prebuilt I'm seeing in the under $200 range limit you to
Watts247.com
Using the 4 Into 2 combiner box good for 1 set of 8000watt panels so 2 strings of 4000 each
Need a total of 2 boxes for 16kw of panels
Someone's been to Connecticut I see.
Best ice cream ever!
@@SteveDoesEverything All these years, I've not tried their ice cream. I don't eat anything with sugar in it. The roast beef is actually not bad, but about $40/lb... a .25lb container of it ran me $12.
Watched your vid. Where are your communication cables?
Hi I don’t have them connected yet because I was only using 1 inverter at the time, the other had a warranty issue and I was waiting for the replacement.
You couldnt get space to mount power panel to the left or right ?
Didn’t want it that close opening and didn’t have enough room to the right. Keeping in mind equal distancing from inverters to panel. Not that it would make a huge difference being that close anyhow, but that the ocd in me I guess.
What are those batteries you’re using and where can I find them? Thanks
They are CATL batteries from Docan Power 305AH cells. Docanpower.com
Doing split phase?
Yes
Hi Steve, is the total cost with or without the federal tax credit? Thank for your taking the time to record and share this!
I haven’t factored in federal tax credit.
