I recently saw the vinyl caped Jawa figure at a collector's store in Ft. Worth, Texas. It wasn't $2,000. It was $20,000 ! ! ! And there was someone in the process of purchasing it! That is 100% the truth!
"Buy what you love!" He is so damn right! I am nearly 50 now and already started to collect the stuff I didn`t get until the end of 1983 - and that was a loooot. It makes so much fun and I love this kind of journey back to my childhood.
He's a really great guy. Just so friendly and generous with sharing his passion. I hope Steve never slows down collecting. What he has accomplished is awe inspiring.
For those unaware...Sansweet worked for Lucasfilm as head of fan relations for many years and his collection/ranch is located close to George Lucas' Skywalker Ranch. Sansweet was actually robbed this year by a good friend who sold most of the stuff he stole so he never got it back. Many fans from around the world have tried to help rebuild his collection. He is in the Guiness Book of World Records for his collection, has written many books over the years "Steve’s collection really began to take shape in 1996, when, after a 28-year stint at the Wall Street Journal, he turned his love of the Star Wars saga into a new career and became Director of Specialty Marketing at Lucasfilm Ltd. His title later changed to Director of Content Management and head of Fan Relations, with Steve acting as Lucasfilm's liaison to fans worldwide. Steve held the role for 15 years before retiring in 2010, however he still maintains an active role in the Star Wars fan community and continues to advise the company on its interaction with fans."
Jason Harshman Supposedly he didn't retire, George Lucas fired him because he was angry that a movie used piece that he had gifted to Steve to "keep," Steve traded for something of equal value. That angered George because he felt betrayed by that and let him go over it. You might say that sounds crazy but I guess George Lucas can get a little wierd about that kinda shit. That's the rumor from inside sources anyway.
Vfgbnfgh Vfvvhfcbh that is a hurtful thing to do and does sound like Lucas looked at him like a friend but this guy is clearly only in it for the fame and bragging rights
Steve Sansweet is an amazing person for collecting and sharing as he has. Star Wars is for everyone and so great that it’s being kept curated and experienced as Sansweet has made sure of with this collection. Thanks Steve and thanks to TESTED for the video!!! Amazing collection!!!
I’ve met Steve and been to Rancho Obiwan.... If you can check it out. He’s a really nice guy and his collection is the best you’ll ever see... His passion for Star Wars is contagious.
WOW! Now that’s what I call a collection. The best part about this collection is that he made it Into a museum where other fans cou come and admire and enjoy it instead of locked up in a basement. He seems like a really cool guy too. 😊
Ha, no freakin' way. Hello to Jerry from the past. Just watching a random video on Adam Savages' channel, and here you are. Or rather, there you were, 3 years ago. Hope you're enjoying Maker Faire 2017.
I was one of those that bought the original issue Kenner Toys Box where you mailed the certificate in and got the first 4 original action figures. The box turned into a display stand. Imagine how much they would have been worth had I kept them and in pristine condition? Damn shame!
universalmanchild do you think he goes George costanza and has sex with her on the desk? (Not quite the same I know, since it’s not like he would be at work if he did that, the same way George was)
I remember when the first start wars came out and that opening credit was mind blowing - as audiences we'd never seen such spectacular stuff and you really thought that space ship was going over your head. it was amazing
he wasn't meaning to, he was in complete awe and didnt know how to process it, he met his own personal jesus right there, or his own Santa CLaus or whatever!, he must have busted five nuts just walking around that place guys! give him a break!
He makes all the episodes of Tested that he's in super awkward. Nothing against the guy, but the show works much better when it just focuses on Adam who has that natural charisma.
Some of the Rebel pilot helmets from a New Hope came from a navy base near me, which also happens to be the largest naval base in the world (Naval Station Norfolk)
"Mr. Sansweet", the character who sues Mr. Incredible in the movie's early plot set up, is an insider's homage to Steve Sansweet, a George Lucas associate who handles fan club and memorabilia aspects for the company, and who also appeared uncredited in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999).
His good friend stole from him earlier this year In June 2017 Sansweet said that he was a victim of theft and that over 100 items from his collection have been stolen, “The majority of them vintage U.S. and foreign carded action figures, many of them rare and important pieces.” Reportedly, several of those pieces have already been “resold or professionally appraised for a total of more than $200,000.” According to Sansweet, a man named Carl Edward Cunningham, whom Sansweet refers to as “a good and trusted friend,” surrendered to police at the end of March 2017 but is currently out on bail pending additional hearings
I can guess what it is that you won’t be able to steal. He gave his buttholes’ virginity away DECADES ago!! I’ll bet he’s got a Luke Skywalker action figure by Kenner Toys out of its box right now. The worst part of it is that the poor little Luke Skywalker action figure is jammed so deep into the guys bowels that all that’s left hanging out is Luke’s little plastic toy feet. I found him more than a little bit - kinda creepy.
Abe Froman I'm a huge Star Wars fan and I'm a girl. If she doesn't go for it, gimme a call. I live in NorCal so it's easy to swing by and pick me up on the way to Rancho ObiWan, heh. Also I can tell you stories about Skywalker Ranch, had a temp job there in 2016, thanks to a friend who works there. I know what George's downstairs bathroom looks like!
Luke 12:15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
This is awesome! Rain Johnson approaches the building with a torch “I’m gonna subvert expectations!” Kathleen Kennedy “where’s all the female models this collection isn’t diverse enough so let’s make this official collection a legends collection!’
+brantdanger you don';t have to be born in 77 to be engrossed with all things Star Wars. My apartment is a scaled down version of this place for example. What you need to be is not just passionate and know how to edit and upload a video, but have presentation and speaking skills, which this person probably didn't when being swamped with so much merch. I have only been overwhelmed with Star Wars once in my lifetime and that was at Celebration last year for obvious reasons.

What an incredible collection. And the owner did a great job describing everything. Really enjoyed this video.
This guy reminds me a lot of Jay Leno for some reason.

The early bird special! I'll leave now!
this is a hobby worth its time
How can he keep al that stuff dust free? I only have 30 figures and have to clean them every week 😱
Good question. I think he may have staff that does it for him. I heard in another video he has people that work for him there
It's called a cleaning lady...
Probably has a really good air handling system with dust filters in those rooms.
Aletz Lessorio I like never clean my figures.
universalmanchild do you think he goes George costanza and has sex with her on the desk? (Not quite the same I know, since it’s not like he would be at work if he did that, the same way George was)
Steve Sansweet. You learn something new every time that guy talks about Star Wars.
Awesome stuff!
This guy!!! He became "my dream". Good job collecting those incredible stuff from Star Wars, you have inspired us all!!!
What a nice guy!
5 years later, I hope he is okay and still collecting star wars memorabilia.
Jacob Hiatt search “rancho Obi wan” he’s in a few videos recently released. Bit older but still alive as far as I know.

This is literally like stepping into the wonder emporium or Wonka's factory... By heart yearns for me to go there xD
16:09 I like the Beatles Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Bands themed scene.
2:34 when he opens the door... like walking into another galaxy... far far away🤩
Thank you Norm for showing some of Steve’s amazing collection. Great video. I so want to visit.
Why does my room not look like this?

Huge fan of The Coruscant Guard and i'm surprised he didn't have much of that but i am still jealous of all of this lol
I like how he enjoys the artistry and creation of everything as well.

Who’s hear After the Rise of skywalker
This is so epic, totally awesome, breath taking, and just plain AMAZING!!! I soooooooooo want to go there!
I wanna have a beer with this guy
Miellnium Falcon diorama is mighty awesome. It's a shame that for a price of 2400 euros, they didnt include some figures.
This guy has the best house on the planet
It's a ranch aka chicken coop that he bought and it's located near Lucasfilm where he worked
Love the blockade door!! And wow Steve even has the arcade and pinball games.
There’s stains in the carpet that have more carisma than the guy in glasses...
The blockade runner room blew my mind. Now I know what my next house interior will look like.
"little bit of stuff"

I would seriously love to be all around the star wars collection! its amazing!!!
The presenter was very flat and under whelmed.
i was thinking he broke something expensive or irreplaceable while filming and had to pay for it.
He might have insecurity issues.
He obviously wasn't a child in 1977 when Star Wars came out. He doesn't get it. He shouldn't have been the one conducting the interview.

Imagine being into Star Wars this much and then Disney buying it and completely ruining the entire franchise.
They have so much money to hire fantastic movie producers/directors who know Star Wars but instead waste it.
That was the greatest thing ever!!! Love your videos guys
If they had that price today.

Still adjusted for inflation...pretty much you would get the same price
There are only two movies that I ever had to stand in line for that stretched blocks long. Star Wars and Jaws.
