It is the difference between making a product and making art. That is the problem with a lot of modern movies is that they try to make them so prefect every little flaw just jumps out.
I get what he meant when he said that seeing Peter out of costume, you could SEE Chewie in him. I remember the first time I met Peter (probably about 20 years ago almost now), I saw him heading back to the signing area and his gate was Chewbacca’s walk exactly as silly as it seemed, the way he swung his arms, just the very movement itself WAS the character right there. Incredible.
They didn't talk about alot of things. Mostly rambled on about stuff not even related to what was being shown. This episode was a bummer. I was so stoked when I saw the title
The one thing I love most about Vader is seeing him without the mask and how claustrophobic and restricted that bottom mouth and neck piece is. It always looks cool in art and statues where he’s either super damaged and has taken it off or he’s just got it off and I wish he did that in the final kenobi episode where it gets damaged and you see his face but I wanted to see Hayden in the burn makeup and kenobi seeing what anakin looks like now.

….3:48 Adam says that Chewbacca is the greatest non-human character in film. I agree with that. I came to that conclusion late in the game. The first time I saw The Force Awakens I came to that conclusion, in fact. Specifically, it was when Chewbacca literally witnesses the death of his best friend. He displays anger and grief, as anyone would…and then immediately makes a long range shot and does get a combat effective hit on his target. A true warrior.
Gloveless Adam reminds me of my mom's friend's kids coming over and careless playing with my toys. My fully complete Voltron was never the same after that fateful visit.
@@stevedenis8292 Thanks for your thoughtful, in-depth reply. I have no doubt that when the internet was first conceived, this is the content they had in mind.
The fact Adam builds small-scale models of his own house to negotiate renovation details is somehow tremendously fascinating and completely understandable.
The comments about him handling these things with his bare hands, I think it's also worth remembering that as much as he's a presenter he's also a bidder, and is well known to the company. The video is generating income but Adam is the customer of the auction house and letting him handle the face mask or the lightsaber is the best way to get him to really fall in love with it and say "I need that"
Great video. I wish I had been fortunate enough to have met Mr Mayhew but alas not. However I did meet Tim Rose and Alan Harris and got to chat with them. I mentioned to Mr Harris that during his scene on the star destroyer bridge in ESB that I noticed he wasn't just standing there but was acting and moving . I said "I loved that glare and threatening stance you took looking down at that Imperial Officer on the deck below you" to which he replied, "Yes but the camera mics didn't pick up the sound I made"...and he proceeded to adopt the stance and let out a fantastic reptilian "HISS!" noise. It was magic to see him share that with me. The masked, unsung unseen hearts of Star Wars.
Nickle plating and chrome plating on the light saber gave it the slight difference Nickle plating is slightly yellow a much softer warmer effect than chrome.
Oh man I wish I wasn’t broke right now I’d totally try and get my hands on a couple of those props in the background. I’m looking at the one from Aliens in that display right now. XD
They were stored in a big fish aquarium like display tank that were then donated to a non profit organization" united against poverty" for a fundraiser before being sold to a collector that happend to be coming through that area.
This shatters my reality... A "smaller" builder from the franchise joyously reacting to other builders work-for-captured-photons... I wish Hollywood was a monolith that preserved its history as well as its random, passionate sparks like Mr. Savage...
I see people bringing up the fact that Adam isn't using gloves when handling these, but I don't think its as big of an issue as many may think. Funny enough cotton gloves, like the ones this guy is wearing, are not recommended when handling these kinds of objects anymore. In fact, most places like museums don't allow them at all. Nitrile gloves are the recommended type if you were to use them. Often times clean hands are all you really need though. For things like books it's even recommended to not use gloves due to the higher risk of ripping pages. The only thing Adam did that made me nervous was swing the lightsaber around.
As a child I was lucky enough to meet David prowse. Albeit he was appearing as the green cross code man at my school but all we were interested in was Darth Vader in our assembly hall 😁
4:47 One thing that always bugged me about the modern liggtsaber fights is the way they're spinning the swords. The way they move it implies that there's weight at the tip but the story tells us that there isn't, it's just light.

It is the difference between making a product and making art. That is the problem with a lot of modern movies is that they try to make them so prefect every little flaw just jumps out.
Brandon's hair is a work of art.
Tom Spina is a cool guy. I worked with him making the blasters/holsters for the Life Size Boba Fett Project. Super talented.
1:16 Robocop 3 jetpack behind Adam.
It’s ok that mine’s not movie quality…
Crossbows! 😂
Brilliant reference.
@@MrZackavelli its vague, yet so specific at the same time 😎
I get what he meant when he said that seeing Peter out of costume, you could SEE Chewie in him. I remember the first time I met Peter (probably about 20 years ago almost now), I saw him heading back to the signing area and his gate was Chewbacca’s walk exactly as silly as it seemed, the way he swung his arms, just the very movement itself WAS the character right there. Incredible.
I was lucky to meet him in Philadelphia back in 1997 Peter was genuinely a good person and embraced all his fans as friends

Peter Mayhew was a true gent and Brought that Character to life, sadly missed.
The things I would do to swing around the Anakin stunt lightsaber
Aww I wanted them to talk about the R2 unit :D
They didn't talk about alot of things. Mostly rambled on about stuff not even related to what was being shown. This episode was a bummer. I was so stoked when I saw the title
@@kazikoFPV I disagree on that 😅
@@kazikoFPV I don't understand what the rush was...
I don't even know what to start....lol his face when he spins the lightsaber....🤣🤣🤣
What happened to the velocaraptor build? WE NEED ANSWERS!!!
The ultra rare stuff like Chewies’ face should not be for sale, the should be protected at all cost. They should be in the Smithsonian or even frozen in Carbonite.
It _belongs_ in a *museum!!* 🤠
@@Taijifufu Absolutely.
its probably just one of many copies
Aliens pulse rifle, Starship Troopers vest, Robocop flying back pack..god damn, this place is a heaven
I wish that I knew how to make one of those prop sabers for dueling.
It seems like a usable piece in films and made for sturdy dueling.
Check out Ultra Sabers, they offer a variety of blades from display ones to ones rated for duels.
Yeah, Hell Nah. Ultrasabers have trash customer service, and they give you 3 days to decide if your gonna return it as apposed to the 30 day usual return window,
Also, if you decide you don’t want it and you cancel your order…they take 20% of your payment because of “Inconvenience”
Ultrasabers have good sabers, but an overall trash company.
I’m really glad they let him handle everything so he could learn more about them.
Also, so THEY can learn more about them from Adam. Like the wig-mesh around the Chewbacca mouth.
Would have been good to do so with gloves on
@@Bad_Wolf_Media better point!
Adam looks super excited
Gloveless Adam reminds me of my mom's friend's kids coming over and careless playing with my toys. My fully complete Voltron was never the same after that fateful visit.
Show me on the action figure where you were bad touched.
@@stevedenis8292 Thanks for your thoughtful, in-depth reply. I have no doubt that when the internet was first conceived, this is the content they had in mind.
@@engelwyre I believe it was third or fourth on the list of intentions.

The fact Adam builds small-scale models of his own house to negotiate renovation details is somehow tremendously fascinating and completely understandable.
DAMN, This is so cool!!! Show my arm!!
Ol mate just concentrating on Adam handling the piece, is like a bear minding her cubs. Ready to pounce
Nickle plating and chrome plating on the light saber gave it the slight difference Nickle plating is slightly yellow a much softer warmer effect than chrome.
Met Peter at a convention , he has always been a cool person
Dude was so nervous while Adam was playing with it lol
That’s cool how they were all worn and used by the Actors
hi to find the star, wars special effects is so amazing to see. good on you Adam.
The ORIGINAL Vader and Stormtrooper helmets were made at the Owens Corning Fiberglass factory in Wrexham Wales,UK.
If I had the money to bid on one, it would probably be Lando's Helmet.
No way, those on screen lightsabers are where it's at

Man, Adam is just great.
Oh man I wish I wasn’t broke right now I’d totally try and get my hands on a couple of those props in the background. I’m looking at the one from Aliens in that display right now. XD
You'd have to be a lot more than "not broke" to out bid the competition for one of these props!
@@TurkeyOW I know which is the sad part. Lol
Nice props! But what happened to the raptor costume videos?
dude this is awesome and nostalgic
I like how they're treating it and talking about it as if they were archeologists finding an undiscovered fossil.
Amen on the anodizing. I do it for a living and making colors match is a bloody nightmare!
A lightsaber right above a pulse rifle!!!! The corner stones of my sci fi addiction
STOP PANNING AWAY FROM THE BR PARKING METER!
(Love this!)
As a child I was lucky enough to meet David prowse. Albeit he was appearing as the green cross code man at my school but all we were interested in was Darth Vader in our assembly hall 😁
In The Lord of the Rings 'making of' they talk about throwing away foam latex like daily, crazy that the chewbacca mask survived.
4:47 One thing that always bugged me about the modern liggtsaber fights is the way they're spinning the swords. The way they move it implies that there's weight at the tip but the story tells us that there isn't, it's just light.
i noticed the starship troopers props on the bottom shelf, epic film.
How absolutely amazing. All of it.
