God gave him a gift and he found a use for it. Countless hours of hard work with unimaginable talent.

There is no one in this world who can play piano like this 12 year old boy. I hope he will help to bring love and peace to the world with his beautiful music.
I give a like to your comment but it is a Bit of an exaggeration. There is no denying that Alexander is brilliant, talented and will be a superior musician as he matures. But there are a couple of others who deserve similar accolades. Let us not take anything away from this boy. But let us remember that it is fortunate that there are others who are also rising stars who will replace those who have left the stage. Such a talent is so rare and so precious we should recognize all who are fortunate enough to have it and provide us, of far lesser talent, with the beauty of music such as this.
@Alex Could you please name some of these "25 children his age who play at his skill level", so we can compare and perhaps say that the young Russian pianist is just one of many? Oh, and by the way, have those 25 talents won any Grand Prix, awards and golden medals at international competitions? Where do they perform? Thanks.

Malofeev is made for List whom he clearly adores, not least perhaps because List challenges Aleksander's extraordinary virtuosity, his seemingly intuitive grasp of complex music, and spell binding aplomb, ability, capacity, to play with the fire and suppleness of youth, yet with the assurance of an older hand.

Mein Gott, das ist ja unglaublich, diese Virtuosität, diese Dynamik mit soviel Selbstbewusstsein, die Fingertechnik, Motorik perfekt inszeniert. Dies ist gleichermaßen schön anzuhören und zu sehen. Therefore, Alexander MALOFEEV, Russian pianist, is really a Prodigy Music Child. He remembered me Evgeny KISSIN, the famous Russian pianist, who played Piano Concertos by Fryderyk CHOPIN in the Great Hall of State Conservatory of Music Piotr Ilich TCHAIKOVSKY in 1983 when he was 13 years old. By age 12, Alexander had performed the Grieg concerto and the Saint Saens No.2. Also La Campanella, this piece, Little Red Riding Hood, etc. Just amazing to me!!

Simply... it is an intellectual and musical lustiness, with Youth and Verve itself which allows young Malofeev to knock this totally out of park!
The recording... was not great, yet the Spirit was clear.
It was the lousy, ricky-tick, garbage piano that was so bad, not the recording
How he does it, no one will know but this boy just drives the sound from that piano. It is such a shame they did not provide a decent instrument for him to play. This boy is brilliant. If he does not become weary of school, practice and performances, he will go on to be a stellar performer.

I will give the audience the benefit of the doubt. I will assume they did not applause like crazy at the end because they were so stunned by what they just heard they didn't know what to do.
Astonishing virtuosity. I doubt whether Liszt himself could have surpassed the excitement generated by Alexander's performance.
I play part of this song, but my hands arent strong enough to do it all, ugh. He is astounding!!!!!

Imagine the poor kid who had to play after this!
I had an experience like this when I performed in a small music competition... it actually helped me. I was waiting outside, and I knew that the boy who played would win the whole thing. I had to wait very long, because he went back three times to take a bow and the audience went crazy.
I was like: „Oh well, whatever I do, I will never be able to beat him. And nobody is going to listen to me anyway after this. So I might as well enjoy myself and have fun playing on this beautiful grand piano“.
I finished 2nd to last, never went to a competition again. But my friend said she never saw me playing this good and smiling throughout. It helped me to know that I played better than ever, but it just wasn‘t enough
