Awesome video. I'm impressed you were able to discern the guitar work that's otherwise inaudible in the track. I always thought the lineup was Paul on piano, John on harmonica, George on bass, and Ringo on drums, which would have made sense. But I can hear guitars faintly in the left channel. My thinking is that John doubled the bassline while George played the chords further up the frets. But unless we hear an outtake or backing track without overdubs, I guess we'll never know.

I lot of similarities to I Saw Her Standing There as far as the chords! Great sound, great playing, excellent tutorial! 💯

Thank you! Yes, I definitely agree about the similarities to I Saw Her Standing There, especially with that opening E7 chord.

A nice snappy early Beatles to add to my set. Is that an Amaj or Emaj harp?

How were you even able to determine that guitars were present in the recording and what they were playing. For the longest time, i just assumed George just sat this one out and that there was no guitar in the song.

Hi @lefty_guitarist, That’s a great comment, and if I’m honest there was a bit of guesswork involved in working out the guitar parts because, apart from the instrumental break, the guitars are inaudible. But they were played. Various books that document the recoding process state that the original track was recorded with the usual line up of two guitars, bass and drums. The piano and harmonica were added as an overdub. The reason the guitar can be heard in the instrumental section is this was edited in from a different take, the balance of the guitars must have been higher. So what did they actually play on guitar? The chord structure and feel of the song is similar to I Saw Her Standing There, so my assumptions draw on how Lennon played that. So I can’t guarantee that what I have shown is exactly how they played it, but I suspect it is close.
