@@robbelliii Unfortunately, during the 90s, around the grunge era it was considered "uncool" to use synth or keyboards for rock bands, so many of the groups would drop them out of their live sets. God, i hated the grunge era.

He was diagnosed in April 2000 and died in October 2000. Pancreatic cancer is awful. Most people aren't diagnosed until the disease is advanced.

I like to suppose that some of us 'put' here on earth are just meant to become Angels in Heaven just a little sooner than others -- that's the only way I can make sense of it all to tell ya the truth...I just feel I must believe that...if not -- I'd be so utterly forever heartbroken & unable to function at all for the times I've had to 'lose' someone I had loved so purely with all my heart...*

I love the bassline in Bye Bye Love(and before anyone comes as me with "Ric wrote everything all the songs wah!", even Ric said the guys came up with their own parts. Elliot came up with his guitar parts, Ben came up with his bass parts, etc.), it was melodic and still integrated really rightly with the drums. The bass also has a great tone. There's a video up which has his isolated bass and vocals for that song and it's pretty cool

He will always be beautiful to me, no matter what. Like Steve Clark from Def Leppard, I grieve for them both still and it makes my heart ache. Two who were always so special to me and who I loved without ever seeing them live. I realise that their deaths were completely different but the end result was the same. Taken from those who adored and loved them and still do. Miss you both Benjamin and Steve, my love to you always and gratitude for what you brought to my life in your beautiful music. Thank you, I will never get over the loss of you both.
Karen, your comment spoke to me, by the way it’s beautiful and I can identify. Gregg Allman from the ABB was the love if my life since I was sixteen. I’ve seen him in concert many times and even got to meet him once. The Cars and Ben also has a great impact on my life but sadly I never got to see them. They both brought me so much joy in my life musically. Love them both with a passion. Gregg had a harder life with addiction and such. But Ben gets me to my core and I’ll never get over him being gone. They will always be in my heart.
