I love this Fr. Patrick! It was beauty the captivated me at the beginning of my conversion. I remember the way my heart was pierced by one of your early Becoming Catholic videos that focused on the beauty of the faith. I can’t tell you how many times I have shared that with people. I used to think the churches, the art, the music, the incense, the bells were all excessive and overly opulent when I was Protestant. But once I allowed the beauty to captivate me, it all opened up my eyes to what was the truth and the desires behind that beauty and it changed my heart and life. God bless you!
FATHER PATRICK,NO COINCIDENCE YOUR NAME IS PATRICK,AS ST.PATRICK'S FIGHT AGAINST PAGANISM WAS TUFF,I SEE WHY HE WAS SO DEPENDANT ON THE MOST HOLY TRINITY! GREAT HOMILY,THANK-U!
Dear Father Patrick, God Bless you, I have been listening to your homilies every day and your are AMAZING. The Holy Spirit is really pouring on you, how can we bring this gifts to others that are just living ....God is there but not in their life? I know that it's only GOD'S grace That can make happen but I do desire to bring my children back to God. Please...
Dear Father, thank you for these important reflections! I would suggest arguments for a return to an authentic sense of the sacred. We can speak meaningfully about the Gospel to those who have such a sense, but when speaking to say, secular Buddhists without an authentic sense of the sacred, or to New Ageists who have a false sense of the sacred, talking about Jesus will not meet their most immediate need, the sense of an imminent Sacred Reality. On the other hand when speaking to those Buddhists or Hindus (for example) that do have a sense of the sacred, we can make some progress. As to atheists, they need something else entirely. Perhaps your reflections on Beauty (as in the Good the True and the Beautiful) would be exactly what they need.
Secular isn't pagan. Self actualization and all that isn't pagan either. You're playing semantics. Athens is one city with its own culture, in a country of hundreds of thousands if not millions of people. Sparta worshipped the same gods, and did not behave the same as the Athenians.... Did you actually research the religion and culture? Doesn't sound like it. And you forget the countless other pagan religions. Herd behavior is not cult behavior. And most of the American values didn't come from Christianity. Those virtues and values have never been a priority for America (except for the people you're trying to call non-Christians). The marginalized are more welcoming than the majority of "Christians".
God died on the cross for you. It's good that you and I can experience such a powerful message. Lord God grant us the virtue of understanding. I submit to you Lord God. I belong to you. Do with me what you will
If we don't worship the one creator God, we will ultimately place something else in His place. And that something else will be very likely a created thing in our world. Because the human heart desires to have a "highest good" to strive for. Unless the person has sunk into complete nihilism or complete despair they hope for some kind of highest good.

@@prayunceasingly2029 only one? You might not want to read Psalm 92 then.
@@franzwohlgemuth2002 psalm 92 doesn't give any indication of more than one deity. And scripture doesn't contradict scripture.
