Cleaning athletic high school locker rooms. This is definitely the worst year out of the seven I have been here. I know and understand my job and what it details. But my problem is I cannot get them to pick anything up off the floor as far as personal items. Backpacks Shoes shirts pants underwear uniforms towels, make up hair brushes, curling iron blow dryers. Blow dryer curling iron’s left in the sink with the make up brushes and combs. Coaches will not do anything about it. They’re just as bad. I wished I could find a solution for this, but I’ve never seen so many disrespectful people.
@@mrjeffthecustodian I agree with you 100%. I brought that up with my supervisor and he told me I could not do that. Lol these kids are high school kids, and all they want to do is baby them. It’s all about the money and nothing else. They don’t care to help make responsible adults out of them.
Well I would hit the high spots and move on. If coaches don’t care anymore about there area than that. I would stress over it. I for sure wouldn’t pick up there stuff. I’m just an old school guy.
@@Kilomanjaro11 yeah I’ve heard that multiple times, but I’m certainly not comfortable doing it… it has to sit long enough to kill everything too, and if you wipe it off not long after mopping it, then it probably didn’t sit long enough. I know someone who uses a rag and a Johnny mop in one bucket and doesn’t the outside and inside with the mop, and does the chrome with the rag. He also has a separate bucket for sinks.
@kylesalmon31 true about the disinfectant to sit there and do its thing, I work for a college and we have huge restrooms, because time is an issue we usually just Johnny mop toilets and let it everything sit there if you have time to wipe them down you can but on busy days I personally dont. I usually only wipe down sinks mirrors and exteriors.
I have a completely clueless guy that does mostly the same thing. He will clean toilets first and then the bathroom sinks and counters after. Hes been working 4 months and i tell him everyday that he needs to do sinks and counters first and toilets last. He yells at me saying it doesn't matter. Hes totally clueless about everything else. I told them not to hire the guy as i was allowed to sit in during the interview, but of course the big wigs know better than the guy that does this for a living.

Y’all should invest in a Tennant Carpet Extractor, it’s a carpet machine built like a floor scrubber.
As a custodian with 20+ years of experience, I second that! Tennant puts Windsor to shame (most of the time).
As a custodian who gets the trash that first part hurt.
Lol I have turned more trash cans over in my 23 years than I can count.
I know a couple people who actually only used 1 Johnny mop….
My dad did that he said it's disinfectant any way it kills everything? 🤔

I spray them with Nabc. Wipe them down with paper towels. Ever so often I use center out of stripping pad to give them a good scrubbing.
