people have been flocking to the comment sections of the videos and trying to spread their own false narratives or theories based on what they think - if you try it, it will not be entertained and it will be deleted.
if you have something to say that is a theory, you have a platform (by platform i am referring to all forms of social media, not just youtube, so no, i'm not telling anyone that they have to become a youtuber and create youtube videos about the situation for their opinion to count) utilize it and voice that there but do not come to my videos trying to perpetuate more lies, false narratives, theories, and rumors in the comment section.
so, if you try it just know that your comment will be deleted nor will i argue with you! 😊

aka debunking the tokyo dome theory: th-cam.com/video/Kbbu4K39l64/w-d-xo.html
    -
i just want to make something very clear:
i received two comments today on this video assuming that i'm being elitist and condescending or high and mighty because i said, "if you have something to say that is a theory, you have a platform, utilize it and voice that there but do not come to my videos trying to perpetuate more lies, false narratives, theories, and rumors in the comment section."
i am in no way, shape, or form alluding that people have to become youtubers or create videos to voice their opinions in order to have their opinions count; i was saying "utilize your platform and voice your opinions there" in regards to all social media platforms (twitter, facebook, instagram, etc.) - not creating videos or becoming a youtuber.
i don't think i'm high and mighty and i don't think i'm better than anyone or above anyone for creating these videos. i would never think that way about myself in general. i'm a human being just like everyone else and making these videos doesn't make me special or above anyone else.
yes, the audio quality for my videos is poor and i've been pointing that out myself. i don't know how to fix it or make it better because i'm not a youtuber and i don't plan on becoming one. my editing skills suck and my voice is annoying and grating to listen to.
i only wanted to create two videos to debunk lies about jessica's removal and be done but then i made a third video to address the people who were commenting more theories and lies based on what was already debunked. i plan on this third video being my final video.
again, i don't think i'm better than anyone and i would never think that about myself.
my choice of wording should have been better because i see now that people took the "utilize your platform and voice your opinions there" sentence and thought i was referring to people literally needing to use their voices and becoming youtubers or creating videos to share what they have to say, i was not saying that at all.
i apologize if that's how it came across, because that's not what i meant, nor was it my intention for it to come off like that or be interpreted like that.
with this being said, i hope everyone has a happy new year and may 2024 be a better year for everyone.

After hearing “forever 9” for years I couldn’t stomach the other girls pretending she never existed. It took some time to come to grips with her removal, and the complicity of the other members in that removal. It gave me a deep depression at the time. It still saddens me that these lies about Jessica are still out there, and probably always will be. Atleast there are videos like this that can live as reminders and testaments to truth

I will always stand by jessica. It's really crazy how people turn things. If she was preparing to leave she would have never spoke out against the departure. She had an easy out out of the group, and wouldnt have been blacklisted if she just left and let SM tell their narative. She explains that in her book, if she didn't speak out she would be able to just go without consequences.

The members would still have an issue with her solo music. Even if there wasn't the divide that would put snsd against her. It still wouldn't look good if she happened to outsell her. She had to get blacklisted present day because if she did do that it'd ruin SNSD rep permanently. You bully a girl out the group and she outsells you? Nah.
And if the competition was close with sm's story there would still be instigated beef from the gp

Aside from SM never suing her, SM also never refuted her statements, and Jessica risked her entire career when she spoke up about her removal. She saw what happened to JYJ, but she still bravely spoke up. This is K-pop, where idols do not have voices. It's not easy to have a voice in that industry, and it's so uncommon when idols address an issue, so you have to listen to those idols who took risks and bravely spoke up. In Jess's Weibo post, she doesn't even want to drag any of them; she just doesn't want SM to control the narrative and want convey that she got kicked out and didn't voluntarily leave the group.

As a Sone, I find it heartbreaking to accept that the bonds they showed us were insincere. However, we mostly see their encounters on shows, and that can be just an act. All evidence points to other members voting her out. I still love all of them, but I have to accept that even in the closest relationship, sometimes there are fallouts that can lead to breaking up. what's crazy is that everyone, including k-netz, were on Jessica's side to begin with following her 9/30 statement. then somewhere along the way a narrative against her was created (that had sinophobic politics braided in), which made almost the entire nation turn their back on her.
regardless of how Jessica's relationship with SM was for the majority of her time there, it is disgusting how a label and agency hold such power and influence to the point where they can bypass the anti-blacklist law for their own agenda.

The truth is out there for those willing to look for it. Too many SONES are quick to blame Jessica because it shatters their illusions of the “Soshi bond” they’ve built in their minds. Much easier to blame the member that got kicked out rather than face the difficult truth that it was the rest of the group that forced her into this position. I’m happy for Jessica that she’s been able to come to terms with what happened and find success on her own. While I haven’t kept up much on what she’s been up to the past few years, I did learn about her recent comeback and rather enjoyed it.

I was in Korea when Jessica got kicked out of SNSD and was in Korea for all three of her promotions. I also went to Girls Generation comebacks that include Party to Holiday. As a fan of OT9 i.e. both Jessica and OT8 I say that I was only the person to wait outside of Cordiel Entertainment to wish Jessica a Happy Birthday on her birthday. SNSD certainly had alot of fans that still attended their music show promotions and Jessica had a good amount of fans that attended her events such as the promotion in Arte Hall for debut album fly, her various fansigns for her albums, her concert at the blue square and alot of her fans were from China, so it's not surprising that she is promoting there. I say good luck to all members of SNSD OT9, the GOAT of Girl KPOP groups. :)

The way she acted during both their first performance after she left and during Tokyo Dome just didn't fit. After that, she lost weight, her stage presence weakened, and she seemed to go into a depression. I know she had some kind of injury (knee maybe?) during 2015/16 promotions, which could explain this, but I just can't think it. However, I will say that I very well may be biased. If Jessica was wrong, why didn't she sue the agency? Hahahah, it's funny, why sue an agency that has clearly manipulated the stockholder just for the agency's benefit?
If Jessica sues the agency even though she's right, it's clear who will lose, sometimes the law is useless even if we're right, especially if it's clear what the agency's track record is like.
So we can conclude why Jessica didn't do that.
And really, if what Jessica said was wrong why didn't they sue her? It is also predictable what the end will be like, if they sue each other everything will get murkier and their careers are at stake, after Jessica said the actual narrative they were just silent as if justifying, they were confused to make a dirty narrative to bring down Jessica so they looked for loopholes so that Jessica looked troubled by spreading her business problems, Jessica did not appreciate food while in China and even said that Jessica failed while Jessica herself was blocked, really the narrative given by fans who hate Jessica is sometimes very ridiculous.

I believe that jessica problem wasn't with sm, and that's why she didn't sue them for wrongfully contract termination. I do believe that she saw the bigger picture where she is free from Sm Control and has more freedom over her career. And I do see jealousy against jessica. She did musical, reality shows, acting, and soon to be due with her sister and business women. She had it all, and the other members might not like how the income was distributed. The members that seem to be affected by Jessica's departure the most were sunny and Tiffany.

    • @mminniee0922
      @mminniee0922 ปีที่แล้ว +7

@@sowhat1674 For now, who is at fault doesn't seem to matter much as Jessica herself has stated that those were dark times and she wants to focus on the future.
Misunderstandings and disputes within the group will always exist, jealousy, even feeling rivaled by fellow members is common, many other idols have expressed, but it is how to resolve disputes that is key, and the fact that this group could not resolve properly until the split happened no matter how long they were friends.
What's upsetting is that the former fandom is always angry when Jessica reveals the little things she feels, they think Jessica doesn't need to indulge and should move on, they don't care about the pain Jessica feels because they think Jessica is the problem, but when the facts are revealed they reject and think Jessica is taking advantage of the situation of the dark period, they are very afraid that Jessica will create a new narrative that will make the group look bad, in fact Jessica herself is very careful when revealing this, not calling it a bad narrative or subtly insinuating.
Soshi bond is fake, in fact the group is only concerned with personal interests and desires, you can check the facts yourself.

i just wanted to say thank you for these serie of videos. it's clear you researched and analysed everything in detail, without letting your own judgement or opinions to get in the way and cloud objective facts.
i just have a question that may sound stupid, but still ; why would sm blacklist jessica ? i mean, there was apparently no bad blood between them, none was sued by the other, so why going to the extent of blacklisting her ?
i also wanted to ask you, i'm new to the fandom and i was wondering how to support jess ; she's blacklisted as you said, so she does not appear on korean shows, and i heard (correct me if i'm wrong) she's now promoting in china. does she appear in variety shows ? where can I watch them ?
thank you again for your work! xo

    • @starrygoldensky
      @starrygoldensky  ปีที่แล้ว +9

it's not a stupid question at all, and thank you for watching the videos!
i believe that she was blacklisted because sm knew her potential (her being one of the most popular members of the group, them allowing her to launch and establish her own brand, having plans for a sub-unit with krystal as well as season two of their reality show, etc.) and they didn't want to see her thrive without them and i think it's coupled with the fact that she spoke out about her removal instead of allowing sm to control the narrative and tell a lie about her absence from the shenzhen fanmeeting. i'm sure that did not sit well with them.
i know jessica and jyj's situation isn't the same but sm also tried (well, they didn't try, they did it) to make an example out of jyj by blacklisting them because they were already aware of how successful they were in dbsk/tvxq and that they would still prove to be successful without sm. so, sm tried to stifle that in any way that they could although jyj was still successful, but they were also robbed of their full potential due to the blacklisting.
additionally, jessica is a constant reminder of girls' generation no longer having their original lineup.
from 2007 up until jessica's removal in 2014, the girls' generation members always emphasized the importance of the number nine, them being a nine member group, and that they would stay that way throughout the changes in their lives (getting married, having children, focusing on individual activities, etc.) and as we can see, that shifted to emphasizing the importance of the number eight ever since they became eight. people did initially start to question their friendship and bond when jessica's removal was first announced before the smear campaign was full fledged.
yes, sm effectively tarnished jessica's reputation and ruined her image to obfuscate the situation and made the general public in south korea stop questioning what happened between her and the members and made sure it turned into "jessica was a greedy, selfish foreigner who planned to get married, leave the group, quit her music career, go to a fashion design school then off to china and she wanted to make money while using the groups' brand name and wanted the girls' generation members to bend to her will" but people in general still see her removal as a mystery regardless of if they did or did not believe most of the things from the smear campaign against her and that's also the reason why her removal will always be a topic of discussion although jessica spoke her truth about what happened but i know people are either going to believe her or not and that's their right but i think it's absolutely disrespectful to overlook what she's at least said about the situation.
honestly, jessica has only spoken about her removal, nothing fully in depth though, a handful of times and only when prodded by interviewers about it and she's always answered graciously about her time in the group despite people wanting to spin it like she talks about her removal all the time and that she badmouths the members when that's never been the case.
you can even see how her the daily ketchup interview ruffled some feathers although she didn't say anything negative at all but if even that interview caused so much discourse surrounding her removal, you can imagine that sm entertainment would make sure she wouldn't have very many opportunities to go on a public platform or any broadcasts to get asked about it or it be a topic of discussion in south korea, by trying to ruin her as much as they could.
the blacklisting seemingly or didn't noticeably start until after she made her solo debut with fly and the with love, j mini album and it received a positive response.
based on all of what i wrote above, that's why i personally believe that she's blacklisted by sm entertainment even if there was no bad blood between them.
i think that sm thinks that if jessica is out of sight and out of mind then that's good enough for them.
there's actually a really good thread on twitter about the blacklisting that i love linking to people because i feel like it gives a better overview of it all rather than what i have to say. if you're interested and have the time to go through it, here it is: twitter.com/WithLoveGS/status/1403446465876434949
jessica did appear on a couple of variety of shows in china in recent years! off of the top of my head, she was on: sisters who make waves season 3 (2022), seaside band (2022), great dance crew season 2 (2022), sound like summer flowers (2022), hello saturday (2022). her and krystal also filmed a reality show together in 2019 called "jessica & krystal us road trip" but it wasn't aired until 2021.

I really appreciate the effort you've put into making these videos, since I feel there's a lot of misinformation coming from the Sone fandom. People really need to start looking at things from a broad perspective, for a change.
I have a little nitpick though: I don't understand your reluctance to avoid saying any names related to Jessica's former group. Pretty much everyone who's watching this video knows who 'person A' is; you don't really need to protect anyone's identity, especially when advising people against hating on them without further looking into things first. It would make for a perfectly unbiased series of videos were it not for that little detail.
Also I've seen some heavy speculation/theorizing on some of these comments, mainly about who was/were primarily responsible for Jessica's departure, or who wanted to steal her spotlight, etc. You might want to do something about that, since you've made it so clear that you won't tolerate that sort of thing lol

    • @starrygoldensky

i would rather not list names because it just further perpetuates those theories and narratives. as you said, if people already know who "person a" is, then there's no need for me to name them to further any of the rumors, narratives, and theories about that member or any specific member(s) involvement in jessica's removal. for some people, the rumors, theories, and narratives about who "masterminded" jessica's removal changes based on whoever is talking about or discussing jessica's removal although "person a" has usually been the one to get most of the blame or backlash. however, throughout the years, other members have been pinpointed as the "mastermind." also, it was merely an example or analogy i came up with to explain where that line of thinking comes from in regards to "person a" in particular. honestly, i was just trying to find the easiest way to explain that the blame "person a" has gotten doesn't solely stem from jessica fans/golden stars blaming "person a" for the vote rumor, but that many people were aware of their relationship dynamic for years before jessica's removal from the group, and that even without the rumors, theories and narratives or even fans wanting to place blame on "person a," people were likely going to single "person a" out anyway because of what was aforementioned in regards to their relationship dynamic although it's still not okay to place blame on one person. if you feel that mentioning names would have made the series "perfectly unbiased" that's fine and that's also your opinion but i disagree.
as for the comments, i haven't been monitoring them as diligently, but i plan on going through them and removing the comments that are heavily speculating or theorizing which members were responsible for her removal. i haven't had the time to do so because life has been busy. is there anything else i may have missed that you would like to offer your feedback on?

@@starrygoldensky I'm not sure myself!! 😂 I read that all the girls signed another contract in 2014??? Or am I getting it wrong. And she also launched her fashion company the same year? To be honest, I've signed a ridiculous work contract before (where they basically owned all material I produced, owned my time, didn't pay OT etc) and that's why I'm confused about the dates. If she was still under contract, was the permission for the brand in that contract?

    • @starrygoldensky
      @starrygoldensky  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

this is going to be long and i wanted to include sources.
so, snsd had completed their original seven year contract which would expire in august 2014. the original contract would range from when they debuted in 2007, so the original contract would range from august 2007 - august 2014.
september 2014, sm reps confirm that all nine of the snsd members renewed their contracts for three more years prior to the expiration of their seven year contract in august 2014. the sm reps also noted that the members made individual negotiations this time around before coming to a final agreement. in the article, it was said that all nine members would have no problems to promote as a group for the next three years. "There will be absolutely no problems for all nine members to promote together as a group under SME for the next three years."
      source: www.soompi.com/article/651477wpp/all-9-members-of-girls-generation-renew-contract-with-sm-entertainment
correct, jessica launched her brand in august of 2014. articles came out on august 6th, 2014 about the launch of her brand - she also announced it on her official weibo account as well.
      sources:
      www.soompi.com/article/637015wpp/girls-generations-jessica-to-launch-her-very-own-brand-called-blanc
      weibo.com/3547642417/3740516220958441
there was a countdown on the blanc website which signified when it would officially launch. it didn't officially launch until august 9, 2014.
when snsd attended kcon on august 10, 2014, they did an interview on the red carpet and tiffany stated that the members would be focusing on solo activities and she looked directly at jessica when saying "each of our members are slowly going into their solo or designing."
      source: x.com/starrygoldensky/status/1730555930444488893
jessica was also doing a reality show called jessica & krystal which aired from june 2014 until august 2014. this show was filmed with her sister, krystal, who was also under sm, and also in a girl group called f(x). while filming for this show, jessica mentioned that she would like to design items if the opportunity arises and her blanc sunglasses prototype designs could be seen being featured in the show as product placement and to signify that jessica would be designing and releasing sunglasses soon.
      source: x.com/starrygoldensky/status/1735766359135420489
furthermore, sm entertainment used jessica's brands' sunglasses as product placement in a chinese film they co-produced called "the third way of love."
      source: x.com/starrygoldensky/status/1735766708504182855
i also want to add that a jessica and krystal sub-unit was planned as well as season two of their show but those plans were scrapped once her removal happened.
      source: www.koreaboo.com/article/jessica-krystals-sub-unit-completed-album-finished-filming-mv/
jessica stated in her official statement that she received permission from sm entertainment to launch her brand.
actually, jessica received sm's permission twice.
the second time she received permission was in september when the members called a meeting with her to present her with an ultimatum to either give up her brand (which she couldn't because she finalized contracts with business partners as she explained in her official statement) or leave the group. she explained to them that it was unfair to make her choose and she would not choose as both are important to her. after this, she said she approached sm entertainment on september 16, 2014 to get clarification about the ultimatum presented to her by the members and for the second time, she had gotten sm's blessing to continue on with her brand + group activities.
      source: www.soompi.com/article/656559wpp/jessica-issues-public-statement-following-girls-generation-departure
i also want to note that just as she approached sm entertainment for clarification about the ultimatum the members presented to her, those contract renewal articles came out around that same time about how there would be no problem for all nine members to promote as girls' generation or as a group for the next three years.
just as jessica said in her weibo post (this was posted before her official starement) about her removal, she was forced out for no justifiable reason.
      source: weibo.com/3547642417/3760365345514412
there was never a justifiable reason offered for her removal from the group - since her removal from the group, people (actually, a majority of it came from her former fandom) have spread misinformation, lies, narratives, and theories about her and her removal to justify, in their opinion, why she deserved her removal although none of it makes sense.
sorry for the long and thorough explanation, but hopefully, it makes sense and clears up the confusion! 😊

@@starrygoldensky woah thanks for the detailed explanation!
About the permission thing, do you know if it was written or verbal permission? I'm curious if it was also written into her contract, since it seems the company already knew she wanted to do it and they even included the sunglasses and product placement..
Tiffany did absolutely look at Jessica in that video! They all looked happy tho 🤔🤔 strange how things can turn in an instant..
Although, I do wonder, if Jessica hadn't posted on weibo about being removed (& thus making it public), what would SM have done 🤔. you're welcome!
jessica did not say if the permission was verbal or written in her official statement but the fact of the matter is that she got sm's permission to continue doing both. if sm did not want her launching her brand when they did and had concerns about her not being able to fulfill duties as an snsd member while juggling her brand, i don't think they would've allowed her to launch the brand in the first place OR the moment that she approached them for clarification on september 16, 2014 about the ultimatum the members presented to her, i feel that if sm had any grievances with her about her not being able to do both, she would have been out right then and there.
it's also been heavily rumored that there was a contract in place for sm to receive royalties from b&e. i don't like to rely on rumors as proof but if you're interested:

sm was going to lie about her absence if she wouldn't have made her removal public. they were going to say that she was sick. some people tend to think that her making her removal public "ruined chances of salvaging things behind the scenes" but i disagree.
in my opinion, the only thing that jessica's weibo post ruined was the route sm was going to take with the whole "jessica was sick, that's why she didn't attend the shenzhen fanmeeting" narrative although jessica was completely out of the group anyway, since they told her she was out by giving her that notice a day before the fanmeeting and she wasn't going to be able to attend any future group activities due to getting that notice that she was out.
sm was counting on jessica not to make her removal/her officially being out of the group public so they could make it look like she was uncommitted to snsd or missing group schedules for b&e and when fans or people would start questioning her absence from group activities, that's when sm would likely announce that she's on a hiatus due to focusing on b&e and then would come the eventual announcement that she left the group (despite her already being completely out)
if this was the route that would have been taken, if jessica wouldn't have posted on weibo and let us know what happened, we would have then not seen her interacting with the members which would cause fans and people to speculate that something happened between her and the members (which it did, just wouldn't have been made public due to the weibo post not being posted) because i couldn't imagine her just happily interacting with them when they were cause of her removal even though it wouldn't have been made public with the weibo post.
my point is: it would make people question why jessica wouldn't be spotted hanging out with the snsd members or why they wouldn't see her in their pictures of them gathering together after she "left" because we would have been in the dark about the members being involved in her departure if she wouldn't have posted on weibo unless she decided to come forward at some point and let everyone know that they were involved in her departure thus that being the reason for her not hanging out with them and krystal avoiding snsd would also be a key takeaway as well, even if jessica wouldn't have posted on weibo.

Nice series of videos. Greatly appreciate your efforts in producing them. SONE since 2011 and also a fan of Jessica’s solo projects.
In an information vacuum, we all look for a cause (or villain) to explain the situation or to justify a bias. I do not care who voted yes or no about Jessica remaining in GG or any other possible causes that may have created tension amongst within group because I want to maintain the image of comradery and friendship shared by these 9 ladies as seen in their concerts and other television performances. Searching for villains amongst the members would destroy this image for me, and I do not want to have the joy GG (as OT9 / OT8 / OT5) brings into my life be tarnished in that way. However, there are three things that will forever shadow my admiration of GG.
First, I’m resentful that SM Entertainment couldn’t resolve this situation, or at least make the break-up less acrimonious and the orchestrated negativity they prosecuted against Jessica. I’m not naïve to believe the members of GG are all like sisters - they are human beings that struggle with the same emotions as the rest of us. But there were a few bonds between Jessica and some of the members and those bonds were severed. In part because of the dynamics of the group’s decision-making process, but mostly due to the cowardness in SM Entertainment’s handling of this situation, which could have mitigated the severity of any break-up and maybe allowed these bonds to remain intact.
Second, I’m angry that some people try to erase Jessica’s contribution to GG. I understand that SM Entertainment, Jessica (Coridel), or any other established media outlet cannot mention or use images of Jessica in GG because of liability issues. But this does not apply to certain content creators on other social media platforms, who crop/cut/edit Jessica’s image and voice from any GG performances or activities. She is an integral part of GG’s history - as is each member - and for her to be omitted is petty and disrespectful to both Jessica and the entire group.
Third, and my greatest disappointment, I’m saddened that a beautiful musical collaboration was curtailed. Jessica gave a distinctive sound to GG, and we’ll never know that sound with the other members in their post 2014 musical catalogue (really would like to hear OT9 sing Forever One). Also, what other wonderful music could have been created on a finer level, such as duets between Jessica and Taeyeon, or other members of the vocal line, or perhaps with Yoona’s soft voice in a ballad. This is such a lost opportunity.
Perhaps Jessica and the other members have moved on - that’s what people do to cope with a traumatic situation in order to continue living a positive life. But the pain is still there, at least for Jessica. Watch her reaction and response to the question asked in the recent Daily Ketchup podcast interview (starting around 24:30) about her emotions after the break-up. I’m assuming some of the other members have these same feelings today but unfortunately, due to their legal/contractual situations, cannot voice them.
Their silent suffering still pains me to this day.

I remember even articles about her on Korean outlets like Naver would be flooded with hatred from her former fandom.
