    There was recently a thread on reddit about Jessica's podcast interview and there were a lot of contradictions taking place. "We don't know what happened.......but she was missing schedules, planning on marrying, and leaving the group". Then when you ask for a source, they can't give any concrete evidence. If you don't want to support Jessica because of her books or something else, then go ahead. But spreading lies is very dangerous

    You’re so soft spoken, I could listen to you for hours. I am not a Jessica fan or even that big of an SNSD fan but just like many other kpop fans always was curious about what happened. Jessica was a true standout in the group, the music was just never the same afterwards without her voice on it. We will most likely never know what truly happened, my speculation is some form of alleged jealousy from the other girls, but I hope she’s well and genuinely healed and moved on. Thank you for this amazing 2 part series, you came with very credible receipts that really clarified some of the misinformation I believed about the situation.

    I think a lot of people do not think rationally about it. Like, I'm not a fan of snsd or Jessica, I'm just a casual listener of both of them, so all of you can't put me on just one side. You have to put yourself in that kind of environment first. The system at the time was known for making them compete with each other, and they themselves talk about it, and that gives them the feeling of being less or more attractive to the fans. From my perspective, some members get more attention, but others are fine with it because they are supposed to do it.
    I'm not trying to make Jessica the perfect girl, but Jessica was always unbothered by others who thought of her, that this really could bother others, and idols, especially at that time, were so immature and eager for success and their own recognition. It was really clear to me that envy and resentment were the main reasons for all of that. "Why is she getting all this attention if she doesn't do anything?" "Why do they like her style more than me?" Those types of feelings can grow even more if she has a successful brand by herself with her own name and not with snsd. Just like in the dispatch's first article, even their parents were involved in this, and to make matters worse, there were political scandals everywhere, and they needed something like this to cover them up.
    To me, Jessica wasn't going to stay in the group or at the company at all after that. Knowing her now, she wasn't buying what they offered. I have my own theory that they would make her go on hiatus, putting her through all this hell, and when things calmed down, they would support her again as a solo artist or even with a subunit with Krystal, just like nothing happened. But she didn't trust them anymore, and I couldn't even. She cut ties with them, and they only blacklisted her because they knew she would be bigger and have her popularity back anywhere she went.
    As a matter of fact, she was a victim, she was used as a scapegoat, and there's nothing that can prove me wrong. Why can everybody in that company have a brand or prioritize anything else, but she can't? Even during the launch of the brand, she didn't miss any schedules. She didn't prioritize her branding. She could have, but she didn't. There's betrayal from her members, bought lies and rumors from her company, and political corruption burning like crazy where they're waiting for a little disagreement in any place to encourage even more bad articles to cover up for them.
    After today, ANYTHING is possible. I'm grateful to see Jessica being able to stand up for herself, finding success again, and having real friends and real fans around her. In that world, nothing is truly real all the time; it's just business and deals.
    *I didn't see much of her in variety shows, but the few that I watched, she always caught my attention, so that's a given.

      My bet is when the other girls' parents discovered that they wouldn't gain anything from her business, maybe they objectified (?), but I don't know how income was divided between the SNSD members. I'm 100% sure Jessica wouldn't renew her contract if SM had control over her business in some way too. Unless a TV company is willing to pay a large amount of money to the girls to spill the beans 930 will remain forever a mystery.

    Thank you so much for these informative videos! Truly appreciate all the research and effort you’ve put into them.
    I became a SONE at the height of SNSD’s career in 2011. To say that 9/30 came as a shock is an understatement. Initially, I believed the rumors & narratives demonizing Jessica because the fandom seemed to believe them and they were very widely circulated. However, I was never really at peace with Jessica’s removal. Since reading her novel Shine, I’ve been taking more care into verifying the information I read about 9/30. Your videos and threads are perhaps the most insightful sources so far. I firmly believe Jessica’s statements and how she never wanted to leave in the first place. Thank you so much for providing these resources with such detail and clarity. At least, knowing all the facts helps me sleep with ease.
    I do wonder if it’s possible to support Jessica’s side of the story while simultaneously supporting SNSD as 8. Ever since I realized all the falsehoods surrounding 9/30, and how 8-member SNSD has never clarified any of it for nine years, I wonder if it’s possible to support 8-member SNSD activities with a clear conscience, so to speak. Just a thought. Will always be a Golden Star, though! 💛

    Honestly even if Jessica HAD been missing group schedules, the right thing to do would be to ask her to take a break or a small hiatus instead of going to SM ent to remove her behind her back. Exo for example are so understanding of Lay's hiatus and they welcomed him back happily for dftf in 2021 even though he'd veen inactive for like 5 years by then 😭
    Idols often miss schedules because of drama filmings anyway INCLUDING her former members so why does her former fandom even think this lie is a good defense? And an idol thats missing schedules is 100% missing practices/rehearsals lol

I was extremely confused as to why this was pointed towards her when she was one of the hard workers during the Boys era. She was sick yet didn't miss anything at all. Also, I don't think Lay was in hiatus, THAAD took over so he mainly promoted in his country, China.

    I just wish someone would just come clean about what happened. The truth can't be worse than the years of speculation. Jessica leaving really made GG's momentum stop dead in its tracks. I dont think they ever really got to reach their highest potential and fulfill their story as a group. It fractured the fanbase and after we were lucky to get one comeback a year. There was plenty of time for every member to do more and pursue solo careers and subunits. I hope one day all 9 can come together again. They'll never feel complete without her imo. I dont understand why when someone leaves a group people try to act like they were never there. The majority of their discography includes Jessica so its weird to try and erase her from the legacy. It feels vindictive.

    • @green-lamp
      @green-lamp ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Sadly, I highly doubt they’ll ever perform together again. Ever since SM put out a statement and Naver claimed to speak to an “insider” (which btw was very coincidentally anonymous) that painted Jessica as the person who was lazy and the problem (even though if you look back at Soshified calendars and see that Jessica literally attended every single group performance) the general South Korean public has completely sided with SNSD. To perform, or even be seen with Jessica would literally refute any statement SM themselves ever put out. People would start to question the narrative that SM pushed for years that Jessica was a bad person.
      The SNSD members would rather stay quiet because they know the general Korean public is on their side.

    I remember they tried to use Mr. Kwon supposedly dating Jessica as a smear campaign and reason for kicking out her out of the group but I just thought it stupid. It was just weird how many articles were written about Jessica activities after being forced to leave SNSD. SM could have just put her on hiatus while she was setting up her brand instead of giving her an ultimatum we have speculating for years which is really SM ent to blame and those who supported such impulsive actions. Taking a group member out can negatively affect the groups success. We just want the truth without the mystery.

    • @ywc9644
      @ywc9644 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      ot8 were the one gave her ultimatum. Jessica thought it was not reasonable for them to ask her either drop her new baby brand which she already launched and got permission from SM and ot8 themselves, or to leave snsd herself to break her contract terms with SM. As Jessica refuse to give up any of them, they go to SM office behind her back instead. SM just chose to side with the larger number to 'save' their property (snsd).

    • @imaginativegirl126
      @imaginativegirl126 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @ywc9644 Jessica didn't even outright refuse to give up her brand. She was contractually and morally bound not to disappoint all the others who were involved in and dealing with B&E by abruptly ending the brand and she said something to that effect in the statement she released upon removal. If that were not the case, I think she would've chosen to stay in the group and waited till the group went on hiatus years later to start a fashion brand. SNSD meant so much to her, she would've done anything to keep that in her life I feel like 😔
      But it seems a few members were never honest with her about how they actually felt about her starting a brand at the time, talked and schemed behind her back and completely blindsided and traumatised her with an ultimatum out of nowhere.

    • @starrygoldensky
      @starrygoldensky  ปีที่แล้ว +37

      you want my honest opinion? personally, i think there was no justifiable reason for her removal from the group, as she said in her weibo post.
      if there was truly a justifiable reason for jessica's removal, we would have heard it then or we would have heard it by now, not lie after lie, and not sm entertainment relying on a smear campaign against her (with the fandom aiding in tarnishing her image and reputation) to make the general public as well as fans stop questioning what happened and to instead assume she's the one at fault.
      people claim that it's because she was missing schedules or rehearsals with no evidence but i find it hard to believe that sm entertainment would omit that from their statement if that was true. sm entertainment would have definitely stated "she was missing schedules and rehearsals to put her brand first" if that was the case, and sm entertainment did not say that.
      instead, all we got from sm entertainment was "she was going to leave after one more album and she started her brand early" although she renewed her contract for three more years, had an upcoming subunit with krystal + season two of the jungsis reality show planned. blanc & eclare sunglasses featured on the last episode of jungsis' reality show, which was on august 5, 2014, signifying the upcoming launch of her brand that august, jessica was scheduled to be part of smtown's live world iv tour which would go from august 15, 2014 to july 26, 2015 and she was scheduled to be part of snsd's fan party/fanmeeting tour in china that would go from september 30, 2014 until january 4, 2015, this is importat to note since people claim that tokyo dome would have been her farewell concert despite tokyo dome being on december 9, 2014 and both the smtown tour and the fanmeeting/fanparty tour in china extend well beyond that date. she also got approval from sm entertainment twice to continue doing group activities and blanc & eclare.
      i believe jessica and with all of this being considered, it gives me all the more reason to believe her.
      on the other hand, if people want to believe in a nine year silence from the members then that's their right to believe whatever they want but what i don't like is how people will repeat the "we don't know what happened. we only heard one side of the story" spiel then they will proceed to take the members' silence and attempt to use it to their advantage to create hypotheticals, assumptions, narratives, and theories as to why jessica deserved her removal or why her removal is justified. so much for "we don't know what happened" right?
      to me, her removal comes off as being done based on emotions and personal feelings rather than wanting her out for a professional and justifiable reason.
      this is already long and i'll end it by saying: i hope people will look into the situation themselves and form an opinion based on their own research rather than following what others (and that goes for my opinion as well) think or say about the situation.
      however, this is my last video about the matter.
      i merely created these videos to debunk longstanding lies about her removal. that's what my goal was. i find that when people try to actually look into what happened, they are greeted with articles that are full of lies surrounding jessica's removal so that's what they naturally believe instead of bothering to look into it any further than that and i can't blame anyone for not wanting to do a deep dive and see what's accurate and what's false about her removal because many people are not as invested nor do they care that much which is fine, i don't blame them but that's what these videos are for. i just hope that the videos can offer some type of clarification whether it's for people who are new to kpop, people who are casual listeners, or people who believed the lies surrounding her removal in the past and in the present.

      @@qr-eh9es no problem at all and if you're interested, this video explains where the vote rumor came from. th-cam.com/video/8h2iwQEQ_IA/w-d-xo.html at the 26:09 timestamp. the rumor actually originated from c-sones.
      the vote rumor is hearsay and has no merit although jessica's words do and jessica never singled out any specific member(s) for her removal. jessica consistently mentioned "eight others" or "eight members" when speaking about her removal from the group in her weibo post and her official statement.
      i guess the best way to explain why people push the whole "x and y voted her out" narrative or theory, even though i don't agree with it... hm... let me think of an example:
      if there's a largely popular group and they are known for their bond and people in the fandom have known or observed for years that group member 'a' and group member 'b' got along just fine in the beginning then at some point, things began to seem awkward between group member 'a' and 'b' and it starts to become a topic of discussion in the fandom enough to where it catches the interest of other people outside of the fandom to start questioning what happened, despite 'a' and 'b' having a few good interactions here and there throughout the years but the fandom usually blames the reason for the awkwardness on one member over the other (instead of just chalking it up to not knowing what happened, this is when saying "we don't know what happened" would be beneficial. lol.) and it gets dismissed as that because people usually start to believe the majority opinion that's repeated and spread.
      years later, 'b' gets unjustly removed from the group and says all the members were involved in their removal. people in the fandom and outside of the fandom are going to ignore the "all the members were involved" bit and and will instead assume the member they were most awkward with was probably the main one for their removal out of the rest.
      i'm not saying it's fair or it's okay because it is not but that's how people think and that's a lot of where that narrative stems from aside from people jumping on the hate bandwagon.
      hopefully that example kind of explains (although the example is not a justification nor am i saying that it's okay for that specific member to be blamed because it isn't okay) why a certain member in particular is targeted by people or gets most of the blame in regards to jessica's removal or when the "vote rumor" is brought up.
      also, thank you so much for watching the video, i really appreciate it! ☺

    i'm sure the other girls' parents disagreed how SM handled the renewal of contract because jessica, as a member of the group, has a business where all the profits go only to her. but girls' generation is also a brand, so they couldn't accept that "jessica from girls' generation's company" would receive free publicity just because she was still under SNSD. she wouldn't renew her contract with SM if they had any control over her company. i think it's a lie that she couldn't handle being a singer and running a company at the same time, since SNSD at that time was already entering the phase of individual activities...
    if snsd's division of profits was the same as miss A's (the profits were divided equally among the 4 members, no one earned less or more, which suzy's parents disputed this), then the parents of the 8 members had their eye on jessica's company (but why the parents? because the girls weren't old enough to sign a contract, since their history with SM begins at the time they were trainees and they were very young). the buck stopped with jessica because it's easier to keep 8 members and kick one out than the other way around. but that's what I thought regarding this situation.

    • @ywc9644

      nope. their profit from their own solo activities, such as acting, being ambassador of some brands etc. won't split with other members anymore for some years at that time. they were still highly depend on "snsd" to receive offer for their own, it was not reasonable for the members to force Jessica to share her brand profit with them when they have never invest any money nor promote her brand (like they did to sooyoung's so call charity brand).

    Hello !
    I would really love to ask you for another informative video of a similar situation..
    I know that maybe you aren't as passionate about the subject, but the topic of Red Velvet's Irene really reminds me of Jessica.
    I'm a huge (ex-)sone and reveluv.
    When the 2020 allegation of the Stylist x Irene hit, I saw so much confusing and conflicting evidence from both sides.
    I would love to see an informative video about the topic to see what is actually the truth and what it made up !
    It's gotten to a point where I have no clue what is factual, fan theories, or something completly made-up to smear Irene.
    I'm sorry to bother with a video request, I thought it could be a nice topic to make clear as you did with Jessica. (I spammed your video in KOOKIELIT's comments spreading lies about Jessica HAHAHA)

      i must say, i have never seen anything like that and i was a sone from 2009-2014 (until jessica's removal from the group) is it possible you're thinking of the self-talk portions they did for their paradise in phuket photobook back in 2011? each of the members had a self-talk portion where they were filmed alone, and they addressed each of the members, mostly expressing their thanks or appreciation or concern towards the other members.
      link to jessica's self-talk portion here: www.dailymotion.com/video/xyfo0w

    I think it's important to distinguish between receiving support from SM, and receiving permission. At the end of the day they are a company looking to profit and I don't think SM handled Jessica's situation well at all although she did everything correct. I also believe a partial cause of her blacklisting was due to Jessica's contract termination (which occured during 2015), but I'd love to know what conversations she had with the company during that time.
    My biggest problem with the Jessica vs SNSD conversation is that we don't know both sides outside of rumored reports and Sica's initial statement. I would like to know the 8 others side of it as well. Maybe one day 🙈

      www.soompi.com/article/656559wpp/jessica-issues-public-statement-following-girls-generation-departure
      that is permission, on two separate occasions. lol.
      and as for support, they used her brands' sunglasses in a movie they were co-producing in 2014, allowed her sunglasses to feature in the jungsis' reality show, if they didn't support what she was doing, they would not have allowed it in the first place.
      and we do know jessica's side, she released an official statement, and her official statement is substantiated whereas not much can be said for a nine year silence but hopefully, if the members ever decide to speak up about the situation, i'd be interested in hearing what they have to say.
