Purple faces prove how powerful U.S. Big Pharma is in pushing their drugs for their athletes. The USADA is proud to sponsor these companies. Totally shameless.
Pan basically ran the same race in 4x100 as in individual. 45.92 + 0.42 (reaction time, 0.62-0.20) = 46.34 vs 46.40. He just confirmed he can repeat the same performance. Jason Lezak never swam faster than 47.60 in individual, and then 46.06, a big question mark here.
We should only congratulate Pan for his excellence and world record. For those who keep on blabbing saying he's "doped", can you please zip it until full evidence tells otherwise.
Agreed, I'm American and I believe in innocent until proven guilty for ALL athletes regardless of country. Pan has never tested positive so people need to leave him alone. He's proven himself time and time again and he's the greatest of all time in the 100 freestyle.
Full evidence - the Chinese have had a doping programme since the 1980,s. The programme was set up by 3 coaches from the German state run doping programme. From the steroid 1980,s muscle bound Chinese women to the Chinese swimmers caught with grown hormone - right to present day with the new TMZ drug.
Just for good measure, since no western media or youtuber will tell you the full story of what happened in 2021 which led to all this fury, here it goes. In 2021 China swimming association held a national gathering of all swimmers in competitive level in a single city. While the swimmers were there, the Chinese Anti-Doping Agency (CHINADA) tested all the swimmers 3 times during the event. They found 23 swimmers with trace amounts of TMZ in 1 of their 3 tests. They promptly started an investigation which determined that the reason why only 1 of their 3 tests were positive was because all 23 of these swimmers were staying at the same hotel. They checked the kitchen and found trace amounts of TMZ in the meat, in the kitchen countertop and vent hood. All this was promptly reported to WADA. Then WADA did 2 separate investigations of their own which confirmed what was found by CHINADA. So to recap, 1) it was not WADA that did the test but CHINADA, if China wanted to cover it up, they simply could have not reported it at all. No one would be the wiser. 2) The TMZ was found in trace amounts and only in their blood test after that meal. Their initial blood tests were completely clear. No swimmers who stayed at other hotels tested positive. 3) Pan Zhanle, the 100m swimmer and current world record holder, was NOT amongst those 23 swimmers. He was only 16 years old then. This whole thing was not an issue until the NY Times dug it up and made a stink. Then USADA got US congress involved (not sure why since they don't have jurisdiction).
Should also include regarding the recent exposure that USADA has been letting US athletes that has been found doping positive to continue competing and wining medals, only to be found out by WADA recently Google - usada letting dope positive continue to compete reuters - and you will find the news
All info correct except that the TMZ traces were found in the hotel kitchen jar. Someone deliberately put TMZ there poisoning the Chinese swimmers. They did the same thing to Russian figure skating genius Kamila Valieva.
If you are a great swimmer and know how to overcome water drag (so basically every swimmer before him), using drugs give you to power to sustain the drag longer. That is extremely logical. We can't accuse, but we can see logical probabilities.
There is an interesting exclusive interview between Pan and a journalist wang bingbing, she asked him that people observed his skill was very precise and efficient, and compare with other western athletes they tend to be much bigger and more muscular than him. He replied that when he was young he watched a lot of classic swimmers (didn't say who) to learn how to be efficient and streamline and precise, and he things he is still far behind those classic greats. Then in the olympics, he saw other athletes and a little surprised to find they are even less skillful than he is, and his win proves that skill can trump over raw power.
Amazingly, he actually did not complain about the testing. He corrected one reporter, saying something like 200 tests for the team over several days wasn't too bad. Now back in China, he has said several times how he doesn't like being followed, and how he wants to get back to training. What a fine young man!
In August 1976 Jonty Skinner broke the WR in the 100 free by 0,55 séc. The Swimming world publication predicted that this WR would stay for 20 years. It was broken in 6 years. The WR is the mental barrier as it is physical.
World records are getting harder to beat . Look at the 1500 m . Between 72 and 76 Olympics steve Holland, Tim shaw and Brian Goodall took off 51 secs off the world record in just 4 yrs but ovet the next 50 yrs the world record has been cut by only 30 secs
This has to be fact check but I heard from an world affairs analyst said that out of 600 + US athletes during the Olympics, more than 400 are asthmatic thus have to take medication. If this is real, they should join paralympics. If not, Pan would be blamed by the West that he is taking advantage of the sick US swimmers. Anyway, the Chinese would be blamed for anything when US fails. They are a sensitive lot.
My brother has asthma. He was short of breath and trying to clear his throat multiple times everyday. He took drugs and sometimes steroid. He got better after he was in his late 20s and 30s. How those could become world elite athletes is quite puzzling. Maybe they have more advanced drugs to control asthma than that my brother had?
@@sz5263 This 'asthmatic' or other stimulant problem wouldn't be so openly discuss in the social media if these ppl do more 'homework' in hiding their ugly deeds and not accuse others of cheating persistently. In recent interview by China national media, Pan said that he swam at least 15000 meters every day (7-8000 before noon and 8000 after noon). I'm not a swimming athlete, so I think he has a really hard training to get such and achievement.
@jimbendtsen8841 sorry but WR first, medals second. Also Pan proved he can carry his team to win gold in medley relay while Leon wasn't even the best in his discipline nor team France during the race. Pan is by far the most impressive male swimmer in Olympics and the countless analysis on Pan's technique vs the forgettable Leon speak volume.
After being unfairly drew blood for 21 times to weaken him, Pan still win Gold 👍🇨🇳👍. That's the true winner 🏆. American athletes are disqualified for not going through the same test.
they can only test for dugs they are aware of. new drugs are constantly being made, anti doping cant keep up. it doesnt matter how many times you test, if theyre still looking for older drugs. they wont find it. contaminated food- really? wang has no problem or ethics swimming with his teammates whom they did find drugs on if it looks unbelievable it probably is. look at lance armstrong. same crap they wrote about armstrong being so effun great, superhuman- they now write about wang.
Look and Pans technique vs the France swimmer. Perfect technique no wasted movement and strokes, pure motor and just shows the dedication and hard work the Chinese put behind to perfect the form. The French swimmer has so much wasted movement and strokes off balance and just slapping the water like a fool basically fish out of water while Pan is like cutting through the water.
Before the Olympics, Pan did an interview in China. He told the interviewer that he actually can beat his WR in Doha with a bit of improvement on this technique. He told the reporter not to show this interview before his Olympics race so that it will be a smoke bomb for the other teams so that they thought his best time is 46.80.
He by no means is a dark horse. He's the world record holder before coming into this Olympic Games but When I watched Live broadcasted by NBC and other English speaking channels, they're all acted that he came out of nowhere. To say this is passive discrimination is an understatement

Lezak and his Phelps' team also have the ignominy of using the high-tech "sharkskin" swimsuits... which got banned soon after Chinese dude Zhang Lin also used the tech-suit to destroy the 800m Free WR
They didn't get banned because of one swimmer in particular. Plus EVERYONE had them at the 2008 olympics legit just watch a video and you'll see everyone in them. They were upgraded in 2009 from 50% polyurethane to 100% polyurethane. Some swimmers like michael phelps and others who were partnered with speedo couldn't wear the newest suits because of brand deals. Speedo only had the 50% one at this point giving companies like arena and jaked a HUGE advantage. 40+ world records were broken in the 2009 world championships mostly due to the suit zhang lin being one of them. Zhang lin was in his prime and an extremely accomplished distance freestyler at the time. Him breaking the world record was no surprise. But, due to the obvious disparity in the suits and how they fitted better on to certain swimmers "bodytypes" they were banned in 2010. Since then the suit market has been fairly even.
@user-sq1pc4eq4k - the only World Records by Phelps still standing are those set w/his team in the super-suits as of this 2024-25 season... incredibly, Pan Zhanle's naturally-aspirated WR in 100-Free is still surrounded by super-suited Freestyle WRs 😮
Nothing is impossible in sport, because every record is meant to be broken. Today Pan Zhanle broke the existing record, in the future someone will break the record. US just made it up because they lost.
This is awesome for the sport despite the salty haters out there, unlike track sprinting where 9.58 limit set by Bolt will likely remain for generations to come. In the pool, there seems to be more room to trim time with technique/form refinement and Pan clearly proved the case. I believe we will witness Pan break new barriers never seen before with his best performances yet to come. Exciting times ahead for swim fans. 👍
Pan does 1) at least 6 kicks 2) high elbow arm recovery 3) high elbow arm strokes 4) glide each time of re-entry most 100m freestyle swimmers do 1) 6 kicks 2) straight arm recovery 3) straight arm stroke 4) not glide
Thanks for the professional analysis to let people understand how good he is. Btw, I suggest you check out his Chinese interview. That idiot Australian coach said that the return trip is not possible to be faster. Oops Sorry, Pan has been doing this kind of chasing training all the time. Why? because he always swim faster than others, so he would start few second late and chase teammates for training. He also said there is still room to improve cuz this pool is not easy to swim. He is a humble and very hardworking young man, and he himself believes he will be faster with more training.
Those who said it was humanly impossible because they are sub human. It is evident from the progress the Chinese are making that the Aussies and the Chinese swimmers will dominate the swimming events from here on in!
This is an absolute amazing analysis out of all Fares ! 👍 Thank you for your hard work too so we are able to see it step by step , frame by frame . I’m looking forward to the day that we cheer on 🎉Pan “flies above the water” ≈ 46”❤
Zhang Lin won silver with asthma. I am sure there are more. This is an issue in every country. Note also that studies in many countries have linked chlorine to asthma. Elite swimmers are more likely to develop It given all the hours spent in pools
Anyone who've seen the under water footage of him swimming next to another world class swimmer will not be surprised. His forms his movements are so robotically perfect makes the guy next to him seem like an amateur.
Those with asthma, ADHD, dyslexia, depression, cardiac problems should either stay away from fierce competition to ensure their health and safety, or join the Paralympic contest. Anyone agree?
I read an interview from pan before Paris. He didn't mentioned 48.8s WR but said the number he can see everyday at training center is 46.16s. That combined the fastest reaction time and split time in history and is his final goal.
Why don’t they ask Michael Phelps how he broke 39 world records . That is humanly impossible without drugs - only the Americans can perform such miracles. 😅😅😅

Team China had the doping scandal in which they were cleared by wada and 2 independent orgs (USA had similar thing with their track athletes) however unlike USA China was still forced to do 3x the tests. @@RWE-1978 nah USA manipulates those results as well. We should take into account that the dive in the relay is done with more coupling motion, so the entry speed is higher and therefore it's faster than normal start and you carry that speed with you. Still very impressive.
His childhood coach emphasize more on kick technique and than in his youth, he was train to swim 1500m, that is probably why his technique is so good compare to other 100m swimmers. We gonna see alot of swimmers copying his technique in the future.

Because he is white
Lezak rode his competitors wake allowing him to accelerate without using energy

I was just scrolling down to make this exact comment. Pan’s time from a flat start, and time from a take over are virtually the same.
Americans and the Five Eyes Alliance need to take banned drugs to compete. The scandal is irreversible.

This is the least annoying comment in the entire comment section. Thank you for not bringing up the purple face bullshit, and keeping it to Pan.

I thought Pan flying was a fairy tale, until I saw Pan flying in the water!
well said.
Should also include regarding the recent exposure that USADA has been letting US athletes that has been found doping positive to continue competing and wining medals, only to be found out by WADA recently
Google - usada letting dope positive continue to compete reuters - and you will find the news
the best policy is still to suspend anyone who test positive, no kitchen excuses. if intentional 4 year ban, unintentional 2 year ban.
@@greengrin9401 Why American swimmers exempted so many times?

This cannot be result of drugs. It got to be technique improvements. Drugs give you power, but give not quality to overcome water drag.
If you are a great swimmer and know how to overcome water drag (so basically every swimmer before him), using drugs give you to power to sustain the drag longer. That is extremely logical. We can't accuse, but we can see logical probabilities.
@@fh2234purple faces tell a loooot of probabilities, admit the fact dude. USA loser this time
There is an interesting exclusive interview between Pan and a journalist wang bingbing, she asked him that people observed his skill was very precise and efficient, and compare with other western athletes they tend to be much bigger and more muscular than him.
Pan will break another World record when he has proper sleep without going through doping tests from 5am to 2am on his next major event.
Amazingly, he actually did not complain about the testing. He corrected one reporter, saying something like 200 tests for the team over several days wasn't too bad.
Now back in China, he has said several times how he doesn't like being followed, and how he wants to get back to training.

In recent interview by China national media, Pan said that he swam at least 15000 meters every day (7-8000 before noon and 8000 after noon). I'm not a swimming athlete, so I think he has a really hard training to get such and achievement.
That is a lot for a sprinter to swim, even at Pan’s level. It def could have contributed to his relatively high endurance in the 100.
