  • The MINI tummy-tuck is a lesser variant of the classic tummy tuck. The MINI tummy-tuck always involved skin excision (often a scar revision and skin excision of the flabby skin over a C-section scar or hysterectomy or laparotomy scar) but may also involve liposuction, umbilical floating, etc. Commonly it will not include any muscle repair otherwise it it now a classic tummy tuck (aka abdominoplasty). Cost varies depending on the components involved. Here, Toronto Aesthetic Plastic Surgeon Dr Marc DuPéré describes a MINI tummy-tuck done on a patient who had a Brazilian Butt Lift before (and skin harvesting from abdomen) and a recent 20 lbs weight loss, a patient who wants more liposuction to abdomen and flanks and whose skin has now lost elasticity, hence the requirement for this small skin excision. Dr DuPéré also explains what UMBILICAL floating means. Dr DuPéré performs more than 5 different techniques of tummy-tucks in Toronto and the technique chosen reflects the patient’s expectations and anatomy. Very good explanation. I think I too fall under this category. How do you know what TT is best after kids? Is a mini tuck still okay for someone who is relatively thin?

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

It all depends on your anatomy and the skin elasticity. I would know once we meet and I can assess you. Dr. Marc

Why is she having any kind of surgery

    •  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

I understand the excess of skin is not visible when she is lying flat but when she stands, she has a little flap of excess skin... she also wants some liposuction which will ALSO give some extra loose skin... hence the skin removal. Thank you for watching our videos!

I'm confused on the belly button. Are you just repositioning her original bellybutton or do you have to make a new one?

    •  ปีที่แล้ว +2

Thank you for your question. There are many ways to address this but in this particular patient, her belly-button was already high... so I lowered it down by "floating it". A belly button has a "stalk" (which is really a scar from when one was a fetus in the mom's womb) so I cut the stalk inside and re-anchor it lower. So there are no scar on the skin surface in this patient's situation. It is not always feasible unless her original belly-button is high and the shift of skin is mild to moderate. Hope this helps!

@ Still confused, so did you have to make a new belly bottom hole in her skin or did you put the stalk back in the same skin hole? I ask because I hope NOT to have a new belly button hole made if possible.

Is this good for people that have a little asymmetrical side of tummy?

    •  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Nor good nor bad. It is usually the case. Nature has not made us 100% symmetrical. Have a good day and thank you for watching our videos!

    Uhh she doesn't need that.

    •  ปีที่แล้ว +10

It is a bit deceiving when lying flat, hence your comment. When standing, there is a visible pouch she wanted to be removed, hence the "mini" technique.
