I find it inspiring how Pokey reinvents himself and develops as an artist. He’s willing to take risks and play the music he wants to play. I think it’s awesome
@@nankerphelge3771 but it is a legitimate opinion..... You like the new sound or not.... Thougt the same about Kitty, Daisy and Lewis... I like the older, rougher style more.... They want a bigger audience? Then they have to adjust to the majority's taste. Fine with me... 😁
@@bettinajoseph3758 True. There have been many bands whose sound evolved. Some of which I liked and others I did not. I always looked forward to the next thing by Bowie, but I used to be a fan of REO Speedwagon until they released High Infidelity. Classic example of " going bad by going commercial".
Great part about being an ‘indie artist’ which I think he still is. The guitar on this is 100% Creedence with the rhythmic 7th (sounds like a 7th - I might be wrong) basically the whole way through. That’s why, although I dislike a lot of the jam scene, they might have the most artistic freedom, because as long as they make good grooves their fans don’t care what ‘style’ of music they make. Just has to be fun or a religious like experience.
@@nankerphelge3771 I don't know much about REO Speedwagon (I'm Austrian, so for sure I know the songs which were popular in Europe), maybe if I listen to the other songs I know them (and this I will do) I am a child of the seventies because of the influence of the music my older siblings listened to 🤗 But I also listen to much older, classical music, and younger too if it's "good", means if I like it
I would say he does a tour of music by the decade. He started somewhere in the 20's and has made it to the 60's; give him a few more years and perhaps he will release an 80's hair metal ballad? All jokes aside, I love this as much as I love all his work; this guy is a true artist and I'm glad I'm alive to witness it.
I seen Pokey last night. Let me tell you , You need to go see him. He is awesome live .. He can play and sing like no one else. Best concert I have ever been to. Thanks Pockey 😊
Gotta say.. discovered Pokey recently. Been playing him ever since. Absolutely cracking beats. It's really awesome to see the good music now carrying on through the generations. Also really like Pokeys outlook on life. Keep doing your stuff mate. Hopefully you'll be coming to the UK soon!!! Keep up the good work all of you!! From a fully converted Brit. :)
Love Pokey and seen him in concert recently with my kids. The guy has great hooks . He's got songs for days that could be used in commercials. The black Keys did it to jump into the limelight. It's not selling out...its letting the world know about ya.
Well, this is a bit of a change up, isn't it? Doesn't sound exactly like Pokey. And it doesn't sound like anybody else either. OK, maybe just the slightest touch of John Fogerty in there. So it's a win/win. Never a dull moment in PL's world.
Great job, Andy. That sounds fine to me, too! While I do have my favorite PL tracks from the past (Central Time, Something in the Water, etc) I do admire your guts to expand your sound and 'poke' around to see what else strikes a chord with old fans and new fans. Come and see us in San Diego and please bring the SCT with you!
he is one of those artist that at first, your just "oh cool", then you start getting to where you have have your pokey or the day just aint RIGHT!!! Thnx Poke' i love it!!!
Love this guys music ! -Wanted to see him in Leeds U.K. last year but the darn detentions put paid to that ! -This Song has gong strait to the top of pokeys best To me it sounds a little like BECK . - A fab song !- Hope to see you in concert sometime POKEY . All the very best my man ! Steve B - British Isles
Love the third single from the new album! Just like everything else he does, it’s musically excellent and makes you MOVE! A great reprieve from the troubles of the world today, too… 👍🏻😁🌹
It's like "I know that street and that corner". I never danced down Hatteras or Lankersheim but I did get hit by a VW coming out of that apartment building.
Great new song!!!😀 We flew to St.Louis last year just to catch his show! Awesome. We want to go to Boise in March to see him again when we find out what date he is playing? Anyone know?
Criminally underrated
Life is hard
Everyone needs a little Pokey
I find it inspiring how Pokey reinvents himself and develops as an artist. He’s willing to take risks and play the music he wants to play. I think it’s awesome
I completely agree. The comments above about missing his old sound seem limiting.

He’s just SO freaking good. I love that he’s continually trying new styles and slaying every one.
how can a song sound so recognizable and nostalgic while also being so fresh and innovative
Egggzactiklee!
Because they're using familiar cords and rhythms but making it their own.
The good lord spent a few extra minutes creating this blonde woman 💪💪 great song too 😂🤣
Pokey had shifted his influences from the 30's and 40's to the 60's. Nothing wrong with that.
I think it sounds more and more like T Rex as it goes on, great track
This song is nominated for the Grooviness seal of Approval!
I have to say I like his "old timey" stuff best, but this is damn catchy!
This isn't old timey?

They booed Dylan for electrifying - you can't please everyone all the time. 🤷♂️
It's more of an reinvention of the original rock & roll sound from the 50's bringing a R&B take to it like the Black Keys. I'm here for it.
this sucks
Love the Poke
Pokey says "it's got to be alright". Thank you for shining bright during these times.
I seen Pokey last night. Let me tell you , You need to go see him. He is awesome live .. He can play and sing like no one else. Best concert I have ever been to. Thanks Pockey 😊
I have tickets so see him in Feb. Very excited.
He is totally awesome in concert. You love it.
Much love and respect from Brazil 🇧🇷

Pokey is the very definition of cool
Just heard this on BBC Radio 6. I will carry this song with me forever. It's a gem!
Pokey, the pride of Bloomington, Illinois! 😀
Taylor, I'ma let you finish. But Pokey made the greatest music video of all time! OF ALL! TIME!
Still like Pokey, but I miss the South City Three. Best guitarist, bassist, and harp ever.
Those guys were epic.
True those three were crazy good with him.
Yep. That was 'Roots Pokey'. This here video is 'Pop Pokey'. I hope Roots Pokey returns soon.
Glad Pokey got saved.
Seriously Dude, That's an amazing sound you got!
“Fine to Me” is fine with me!!! Love the new style. Fun, catchy, and creative. Been a long time fan, I love the old, but also the new.

Love the fact he mines the American culture for his music and thrift stores for his wardrobe!
Takes me back to the 60's. Great music!! Don't stop!!
I just found his music and I am on love. Lol
Love Pokey and seen him in concert recently with my kids. The guy has great hooks . He's got songs for days that could be used in commercials. The black Keys did it to jump into the limelight. It's not selling out...its letting the world know about ya.
Good job sir
Thanks for making me smile today Pokey. I have been feeling so depressed, but you made me smile and feel happy for a little while. 😁❤👍
I agree. Me too. Made me smile now that song is stuck in my head. Lol
Cool running Pokey LaFarge, keep on rocking mon frère, c'est bon pour le body and soul...
yaman
Pokey's back, better than ever. Shame he won't tour in France!
I've had this song stuck in my head for a month now, and I'm very much okay with this!
Well, this is a bit of a change up, isn't it? Doesn't sound exactly like Pokey. And it doesn't sound like anybody else either. OK, maybe just the slightest touch of John Fogerty in there. So it's a win/win. Never a dull moment in PL's world.
I'd say it sounds a bit like JD mcpherson
Not a fan of this song.
I hear Gerry Rafferty in this song.
Sounds like Raphael Saadiq a bit
Definitely some Fogerty, maybe a bit of Southern Culture On The Skids.
Omg! Everything is so in focus on this video!!
This had me dancing across the kitchen floor! Great tune!
@Pokey LaFarge That's a good little jam right there!!
Quickly became a fan! Long live Pokey!!
Pokey, you're the Bees' knees!
I didn't want this to end! So much fun. It put a much needed smile on my dial. Great song and clip.
World LOVE to see a collab with Pokey and Tim Blake Nelson. I think their voices might make some sweet harmonies🎙🎶
Brilliant!

Maaaan, this is soo good!! amazing song omg!! Fresh!! Real artist with essence!
like how it is inspired by past music but doesn't feel "retro." infectious, dance inducing and just funky as all get out.
100% Excellent!!!
Nice!
This reminds me of Stealers Wheel, Stuck in the Middle with you. That's not a complaint, I love Pokey and everything he does.
Love the third single from the new album! Just like everything else he does, it’s musically excellent and makes you MOVE! A great reprieve from the troubles of the world today, too… 👍🏻😁🌹

I hope that you were alright afterwards. 😁👍
@@kelliewaring9158 Thanks Kellie. I was fine, broke the other guy's car.
Amazing Pokey!!!!!!
Couldn’t agree more dusty, the new sound is good. Will always love what he does but the “old” sound was amazing. Live is the best.
