      idk i feel like that’s a pretty reasonable thought to have. i honestly just found out candyland is a board game about 40 seconds ago, though, so i’m probably not qualified to make that judgement…..

    -What is the monetary system of Candyland?
    -What are the Candy religions?

      Not gonna lie, if you are an aspiring DM or writer or any kind of person interested in world building and storytelling, going through these logical motions is a very nice exercise. You start with a simple hypothetical (what if the world had candy people) and move from there (what about other things in the world that make it tick and would make it feel real?)

  • @hoodiesticks
    @hoodiesticks ปีที่แล้ว +17

    The food theming was actually really helpful as a viewer. With political intrigue, they're are a lot of characters and relationships you need to remember for the story to make sense, and when everyone's food based those relationships are so much easier to keep straight.
    Speria Mentha the spearmint lady? She obviously has connections to both Vegetania and some of the more minty houses of Candia. Saccharina the ice cream sorcerer? A child of a Candian and a Dairy Islander. Ciabatta the loaf of sourdough? He's from the grain country of Ceresia, and he's probably not very friendly.

    Man made an entire world fit with entire cultures and countries. Each with a detailed and unique history, culture, military, alliances, currencies, gods and societies.
    He made an entire living breathing medieval world based around different food stuffs that’s filled with song of Ice and Fire and Dune style espionage and political drama.
    This man made this world’s whole history and days and holidays to the point where there is even a Christmas equivalent he thought of and what was his inspiration for this amazing feat of world building and storytelling.
    He looked at a child’s board game about candy people, saw they had royalty and thought to himself “what’s the politics of this game’s world?”
    Thank god for Candyland cos I don’t think Calorum would be the same or even exist without Brennan thinking way too hard about it.
