Gudny was the singer in Ruphus, a Norwegian rockgroup from the 70'. The album “New born day” with Ruphus is in 2007 rated as the 46 best Norwegian albums ever made.
I found this gem while actually looking for her later Band Ruphus. Apparently Gudny Aspaas was a very talented musician which I wasn't aware of until to date. I had been to a couple of Ruphus' concerts in the 79s in the Rotation in Hannover, but their singer at that time was Sylvi Lillegaard. Sylvi wasn't bad, but Gudny is of different class, even more considering she was only 20 at the time of recording. It's impressive how quickly she changes from a rather shy girl during the introduction to a self-confident singer as soon as the band starts. Speaking of which, one wouldn't locate it in Norway. Excellent groove.
propylaen2001 thanks in return. I've been recalculating lately, and in one of the Ruphus concerts I attended at that time, Gudny might have actually been with them. Considering the band facts, it would fit. So I might have seen and heard here without even knowing ... :-) Anyway, excellent post of yours! Thanks again for the upload!

A great voice and great choice of song. A pity she did not do much from the 1990's onwards.

wow from this to metal.
Really nice arrangement! Who is this backing band? The playing is superb, especially that sax solo.
This might be Finn Eriksen Orchestra
In the style of Santana
