I doubt there are many British guitarists around today who would not confess that they were - at the very first instance - influenced at the very least, to buy a guitar, learn it and play it by these four - fabulous - men.
The Shadows also cemented the Fender Stratocaster into the British rock realm. No other guitar would epitomise the sound of the sixties instrumental playing as much as the good old Strat, with its cutting high-end and bell-like tones.
The Shadows instrumentals were a musical underscore of the whole period.
And Apache was usually the first thing any aspiring lead guitarist would undergo finger-cramps to accomplish.
BRAVO GENTLEMEN ! And yes, they are all real *gentlemen.*

I was there when it happened. I had a 10" 4 track tape recorder and added my own words. 'slow down the railway, slowdown the train, my lovers back there,,,,,,,,, and so it continued. Hank Marvin took the guitar to the next level. And now we have Rap!

There is no substitute for Hank marvin of the shadows. Its smooth clear technique without unnecessary embellishments makes it unmatched. Its sound is as clear as the sunbeam. Gently penetrates the ears like a sunbeam. Others use the same fender guitar but can't get Hank's wicked sound out of the guitar

After 60 years he can still plays with his guitar and the sound never change. Over all , all of them are good players of the music.they are so happy to be A TEAM of The Shadows. I can see Hank Marvin and bruce Welch never stop smiling during their performance and All of them are really GOOD ! They are good music players even after 60years their music will still remain the same and never change. Until today I still like their music.good to hear that they get reunited again recently in 2020.

One of my favorite childhood memories. My father owned a fish and chip shop in Western Australia (the very first to have a jukebox in it, along with pinball machines) and this was played all the time by the kids coming in..., I was 6 and everytime I hear this I go back to being 6 all over again. Thank you Shadows.
