Okay but tell me how in Sumeru they can make the playable characters that are suppose to be black, indian, Peruvian, or egyptian really pale. But the enemies can be darker and even black themselves. The only black playable character is Iansan who is coming from Natlan. But we aren't saying that all the characters should be black, we are just saying we want diversity within the characters and we want them to match the culture they are representing. Plus Natlan is based on Aztec, African, and Latin American culture, as well as Hawaiian culture and many more cultures we haven't heard of. But they brought the culture but left the people behind. But with Iansan being black himself, I will hold out a single thread of hope. But until then, I'm disappointed in Hoyoverse.

I'm an artist (also a brown South Asian before any of y'all think I'm being racist about this lol, I want a bit of dark skinned rep too!) and I think skin colour does factor into character design quite a bit. The skin colour is still part of your character's whole colour palette, like the eyes and hair. That's why I think some of the dark skinned edits (not all of them, some are actually beautiful like the ones people did of Mavuika) feel off compared to the original design. The original designs were just not made with those skin colours in mind I think part of this is also why there is colorism/racism in the cosplay community. Some people act weird when black/brown POC cosplay light skinned ACG characters because they're so used to seeing light skinned cosplayers cosplaying those characters
Honestly hoyoverse is doomed to fall if they dont change. Not only is genshin racism but look at ZZZ they put a racism image on a CD on the shop of the ONLY black npc
And the Pyro Archon “Mavuika” is white as hell as well. Mavuika in real history be named after “Mahuika” is the Māori Fire Deity inspired by my Māori culture… It’s so damn disrespectful & disgusting how Hoyoverse has whitewashed our culture.
Thank God i left genshin in time, besides the rlly low primogem count hoyoverse made all dark skinned characters a joke tbh, since sumeru they are making those chars brighter and brighter and thats awful, i got 0 hype for natlan bcuz i knew they would screw it

Im a filipino, and as u know, we have a really bad history of white people (spaniards) Natlan as a region that represents south people, having a white leader kinda pisses my blood. Call me woke, but my opinion is not invalid because it is factual. Natlans design is based on south culture. Yes Mavuika is based off a real deity. Also mualani is a real person in hawaii. Right now I dont really care for natlan anymore, I just see it as a big zoo with kids playing ball, and clowns dressed in leather body suit and black to entertain the people.

@PeachyLizTH-cam but it would make sense if mihoyo makes a twist that the current mavuika is an orphan raised by the real mavuika pyro sovereign that died or some sh. And that the current mavuika was passed down the title and responsibilities of an archon. Any scenario that says that current mavuika is not a local, but needs to be the archon bc of various reasons. It may also justify the current pacifist stat3 of natlan (balls as war), maybe because this is the wish of the past mavuika, or the principle of current mavuika. This is afterall a post apocalyptic world. There must be a reason for.., there " should" be a reason for the clownish appearance of mavuika...
it's more accurate to say it's colorism rather than racism. Overall, I liked this video and I think you have a knack for this! I just wish you used a better mic because the sound quality of your recording was... not as great as it could be, but I liked everything else so keep up the good work!

And besides that you said on 1:33 that almost all the south american people are black and I have a lot of friends from that countries that are white, and having a white "south american"(because Hoyoverse never said which parts of the world are taking inspiration) caracther on the game represents them, and what they really want is that hoyoverse dont use the stereyotypical prototype of souht american people.

What bothers me is that during the Sumeru problem I was told that Natlan was going to be the nation with black people, and guess what? It wasn’t.
