This is actually really a helpful/understandable tutorial, especially the part where you show it all coming together. I’m going to try it out for myself now!! 😁👍
yess I'm glad you found it helpful!!
Okay but the tonal value tip actually blew my mind 😭😭 I always chose random colors, and it … doesn’t work out since everything looks desaturated and doesn’t harmonize. This was mad helpful
Yo you might have to change your pfp bc its green bro

I started following you on instagram months ago because i really adore your artstyle, i remember thinking "Wow, i wanna be able to draw like that!!"
So you dropping this tutorial made me really excited and it helped me understand how your style works and how the colors do the "brain scratch"-thing you mentioned. Seeing your art process while you explained it made it easy to understand and I'm eager to try it myself!
All in all this is the art tutorial of my dreams and i thank you so much
ur so welcome!! I'm glad this was useful :)
This is boss level color theory honestly. The whole video feels like a video game stage, I rlly like your themeing.
As a 70 years old, I have enjoyed listening your teaching and the clarity of voice.
Remember fear not you were conceive for this path. Enjoy your gift.
No way you’re 70. That’s actually crazy. 🤯
@Lizzierizz Nah I mean how did he know how to use a computer and actually press the youtube sign in button. My olds would be clueless. /srs

someone probably already told you by now, but complementary colors do have a science behind it! in the case of red and green, they're complementary because green is made from mixing blue and yellow together, while red is a primary color. since primary colors are red, yellow and blue, green is missing the red; that's why putting it next to red in a painting makes it feel "complete", or "whole", hence why the name. same thing goes for orange(made from red and yellow) with blue; and purple (red and blue) with yellow. hope this helped!
IVE ALWAYS WANTED TO DRAW IN SUPER BRIGHT COLORS BUT MY COLOR THEORY KNOWLEDGE JUST SITS IN MY BRAIN SO IM GLAD U EXPLAINED HOW TO ACTUALLY USE IT UR A LIFE SAVER FR THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the first time I've managed to stay fully focused on a drawing tutorial, usually I have a lot of trouble but this was very well paced and easy to follow, thank you! 😭✨
OMG AN ARTIST THAT ACTUALLY HELPS ME UNDERSTAND THINGS AND NOT JUST REPEAT WHAT OTHERS SAY :O TYSM
I started using saturated colors and a messy lineart without knowing any artist that made me understand what I was doing since everyone insist that saturated colors ruin your art, and then I found your tiktok acc, It was such a relief
Thanks for the tutorial 💕
Me who loves green... your video editing skills are great! your art and tips are really helpful too! thank you for the tutorial! 🥰
this video is SO HELPFUL oh my god. even just for color theory in general, not just this specific lighting style. at least to me.
not to even take away from how glad i am to know how to pull off this lighting style. already having so much fun with it ❤️✨
For someone who's never made a tutorial before, this is amazing. It's to-the-point and doesn't ramble, and it's funny as well. It explains the style and how to do it in a very understandable way.
I didn’t know it was called hyper pop so now I have a new key word to search. I naturally just kind of knew purple blue and red were darker and used them for shadows but seeing you actually line things up with tonal value was super helpful. And finally seeing you colour based on the regular colours you can see first then adding colour burn layers is probably gonna be a game changer for me because it’s gonna help me not overdo it and know which parts to desaturate to balance things. Actua a really freakin helpful tutorial. Thanks!
Did an experiement using *all the colors* some time ago and what I found was that the further away the colours were from each other on the color wheel the higher the contrast - and vice-versa (or however that is spelled). It's similar to the relationships of colour like you can more easily switch between colours if they are darker or lighter&desaturated or desaturated. Well yeah thats about it. I drew a goat with it and the pelt looked convincing. The thing to keep in mind was that the painting ended up looking not unlike something that translates body heat into color.
For someone who is still trying out different art styles at my own pace , this is one of the harder art styles i cannot grasp until this very noice tutorial! I am definitely gonna try it out to see what goes best for my own style :DD thank you for this awesome tutorial!😍
i love the color green and this is makin me wanna prove its a great color, art is about adapting and finding new ways to create sum u love this video rally helped me out with color theory even more then i already know!! yellows and greens have light value and i feel like it would make decent backgrounds or even characters! everyone has different preferences but its always good to be opened minded and try new things. thats art >_
Disliked the video because you hate the colour green but liked the video in my heart because it’s very informative 💚
when they go outside: EWWWWW!!!!!!
Love how this has 11 likes but is being shown as the top comment on my device

I thought hyperpop was a music genre
It is, but why can't it be both :/
This is actually understandable, unlike other tutorials who make it overly complicated, thanks a ton!!
I like green:(
Fk green finally i feel like someone understands me,
Ps: im sorry i put it in your comment
I like green too 😢
I can tell…
then use the green side buddy :33
Dude, this tutorial is genuinely fantastic. Thanks for making it so laid-back and fun, while being extremely comprehensive! I find it much easier to jump into the subject matter when it's fun and not too intense. You're awesome!
Omg thank you so much for explaining tonal values!!! You explained it in a really easy to understand way, and I really appreciate the chart. I have it screenshotted so I can use it for future artworks!
thank you so much for creating this tutorial ive always wanted to create highly saturated artwork but i never really knew how all i would do was just color the rainbow put it on overlay and reduce it to like 40-50% and call it a day. NOW I CAN FINALLY MAKE EYE STRAIN ARTWORK IM SO HYPED!!!!
This was incredibly comprehensive for a first tutorial! You did a great job explaining everything and providing a good amount of visual reference as well! Especially saying you color your lineart, wow. I'm an intermediate artist, but sometimes I still have a hard time finding what makes another artist's art have that unique pop. I feel like a lot of tutorials tend to leave that bit out, but when you said you're just coloring pre-existing lineart it really clicked for me.
UR ART IS SO GOOD HELPPP?? the experience and knowledge u need to be able to use such bright and contrasting colors togejte and make them look good shouldnt be underestimated… U SLAYED AND THIS TUTORIAL WAS ACTUALLY UNDERSTANDABLE APPLAUD U
This was explained like a 3yo. Perfect for our dumb brains, thank you for making this so easy to understand😊
(I mean that in the best way possible and no, im not serious about the first part.)
I remember seeing your art on Instagram a couple of times! And your description for your art is on point: very brain scratchy! Your style is very unique and vastly different from what I'm used to, so seeing your art process is really fascinating! Keep up the great work! 💖💖💖
OOOH yeSs a tutorial! Thank youuu it was very helpful ❤
Omg ty you so much for this tut ALSO YOUR SO GOOD AT KEEPING ME HOOKED. The way you explain things and the background music really adds ty

omg this IS helpful!! thank you, my mind is blown. this makes so much sense
IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE I litteraly was struggling on how to do this type of coloring and never knew what is was I was so drawn to your video on tiktok everything was so colorful and I just fell in love with the artsyle and seeing this video makes me happy because I can finally find a way to color 🫶🏻
Omg this was actually helpful. I hate how other art youtubers make tutorials and just say vague things in fear that they might mislead someone or just straight up resay the same things as everyone else. But this was actually specific, helpful, and super funny 😄 please keep it up! ❤
omg this just what i was looking for!! really well done tutorial!!! the colour theory part literally blew my mind as well as the tips for increasing contrast (something i've been struggling with recently) Thanks!

I just want to say this video is fantastic. It mixes that fast paced entertainment feel of many youtube tutorials while actually being *extremely* helpful in a short time frame. And it's actually funny. I don't know if I'm gonna draw hyperpop but I clicked this video because it seemed like it will be helpful in general and I was not dissapointed. Keep up the good work 👍

Thanks so much for making this tutorial!! i usually hate tutorials because they can be so long and boring and overly drawn out. And your tutorial was none of that! It was really considered and delivered key points without dilly dalllying. And also the memes you prickled in there were really entertaining lol. Thank’s for making such a useful tutorial! I’ll definitely keep your tips in mind next time I try coloring.

Thank you so much for this tutorial! I'm a traditional artist but I've started doing digital art recently so I have trouble adjusting to the new way to use color. Also, your artstyle is chief's kiss, it feels so tasty to my eyes!
Sometimes your GI animations get recommended to me and when I watched them, I always thought "wow, this is a really cool artstyle. Kinda reminds me of that one hyperpop tutorial..."
For some reason, up until now, I never realized it was the same artist.
Anyway, I love your drawings, your colouring and the way you animate! I'm subscribing now :]
