This is a great solution. I have been wanting to do something like this with a monthly excel file that i received broken down into 7 pages that I manually enter line by line. At least this gives me an idea on how to perform the transformations . Thanks Melissa
I have around 60 different excel files which comes up daily out of which 30 and 30 files are of 2 kinds. Few of those are empty and contains only headers in them while few have rows of data along-with the same header. I have to compare those files' data which are not empty with files of any date which user selects, i.e., e.g., whether the data in the files increased/decreased when compared with today's files and yesterday's files. These will be done for both the 2 types of files. I don't exactly know if this video can be used to implement this but the play with M in this video was pretty amazing.
Hi Melisa, Thanks for the video. I'm stuck on almost same problem where I have to take schema name from another and use the schema name dynamically. Hope this video will solve my problem
FYI - the calendar/pricing ingest techniques described could also be used to ingest the header information - except as a transposed table. Note - a few more header elements were added (i.e. Coupon/Principle) to make it more realistic. Ingested Header code: AddHeaders = Table.AddColumn(Source, "Headers", each let FilterRows = Table.SelectRows ( [Data], each ( [Column1] = "Coupon/Mos" or [Column1] = "End" or [Column1] = "Principle" or [Column1] = "Start" or [Column1] = "Ticker") ), Remove = Table.RemoveColumns(FilterRows,{"Column3"}), Transpose = Table.Transpose(Remove), Promote = Table.PromoteHeaders(Transpose, [PromoteAllScalars=true] ) in Promote), You do great work - please keep it up.
Hi Melissa. An awesome tutorial! Love the way you use the UI as a way to grab and learn M code snippets. Any chance of making the sample data available to follow along? If not, I can always mock up something similar. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and lessons :)) Thumbs up!!

@@EnterpriseDNA Hi Melissa. Are the files for the TH-cam lessons available only with paid membership? I registered on the web site, but don't see any way to access the files for this lesson. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
