    Mick, This is actually quite an easy fix which should only really involve removing the black plastic lever...... the plastic chassis has been worn away by the brake spring and so requires a packer, take an cheap 25 thou feeler gauge and copy the shape of the top end of the Brake spring (complete with screw fixing hole so the torx brake spring fixing also secures the spacer) so it fits snugly round the back of the spring with 1 - 1 1/2" feeding down between the brake spring and the square hole in the plastic body (you should have some thing that resembles a 1 1/2" tall lower case r ). If you remove the wear the Brake spring will work as intended!! you may now need a new coil spring as crushing it will have lost some of the clamping strength of the brake. Hope i have explained it well enough, not had my coffee yet so half asleep.

    Mick I’m a new subscriber. You come recommended by Craig over at the repair specialist channel. I’ve watched a few of your videos and enjoyed them. Maybe you can show the sharpening process. Thanks for sharing and stay safe and well Artie 😊

    Well done Mick. I have the same saw with same problem but not had the guts to get into it. I saw one guy on TH-cam who cut a couple of turns off the spring you compressed to solve the problem, but not sure how safe that would be. Keep them coming.

    • @themowerman
      @themowerman  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it's not something I would do to be honest. That break has to work properly if your going to sell it on. Mate have a go and see if you can get it to work
