If they had kept it on, I think it would have made a sweet little TV series. Kind of like "House of Mouse," but with the princesses telling each other their adventures.
It should’ve been a TV show on Playhouse Disney/Disney Junior, not direct-to-video anthology films. It’d work better that way.

I find it so incredibly ironic that Disney gave Jasmine a song where she say she isnt a peacock princess, and in almost every doll they ever make of her, she has a peacock theme! XD
Side note, Aurora’s singing voice from both version are done by Cassidy Ladden, which is also known as the voice of Teresa/ Alexa from Barbie Diamond Castle, the singer of Shine from 12 dancing princess, I need to Know from Island Princess and the singing voice of Polly Pocket from Polly world. Such an amazing voice!!!

Also had golden dress princess books.

I don’t know what’s hilariously ironic, Aurora’s segment being bland or her appearance in Sofia the First being bland and semi one of the worst advice givers ever while Jasmine got the better segment and STF appearance teaching Sofia and Amber to try new things even when they’re scared to at first.

I was called prissy and princess-y but in a not so great way and more of you’re a “spoiled little girl”. I have now learned that it is ok to love pink and disney princesses. Mary Costa, the OG Aurora, HATED what they did to her in Enchanted Tales, stating she never wanted Sleeping Beauty to have a sequel.

completely understand why, the transatlantic accent is obviously hard to master but at least make her personality more mature and her voice slightly more mature too
I don't blame her. Aurora in Enchanted Tales sounds like a prototype of Rapunzel's voice.
I don't blame her, it's awful. Merryweather would never hand over her wand, she was the one ITCHING to do magic again, Aurora's voice and character are all over the place as are Philip's. At least this is one of the only times they did her hair in the right colour even if her dress was wrong.

Oh I remember this era! I had both the wii and ds games, and I fondly remember playing them (especially the ds game). I remember being kinda creeped out by the weird green gnome enemy creatures though

Enchanted Tales is so hard to find 😭 Like it’s on no streaming services, and I had to use my VPN to go to Australia so I could buy it on TH-cam. It was definitely worth it to see the masterpiece that is Enchanted Tales though 😌
I once read a story from the Tales of Courage and Kindness treasury, and in the story of Jasmine, she is trying to live up to her mother's legacy. She is still riding that white horse but is now trying out for Polo just like her. Disney is really missing the opportunity to make and sell stories like these, at least stuff like the Tales of Courage and Kindness book can sell well
Omg this reminds me of this other Disney princess compilation dvd I have called, “Disney Princess stories Vol 3 : Beauty shines from within.” I remember the jasmine story the best because she buys some lotion that turned her into a half-snake woman 😭

Did you know about Twisted Wonderland? It is Disney' take in a anime visual novel game which their greatest and most memorable villains become traumatized anime boys Seriously, this game is so well made and their characters are very compelling and likeable. The director and artist of the game is the creator of Black Burtler/Kuroshitsuji, Yana Toboso! The character design is amazing!

Enchanted Journey was my favorite game growing up, I had the PS2 release. It was one of my first video games I had gotten along with Barbie as the island princess and Kingdom Hearts. I remember being obsessed with the soundtrack from the game. some of the music still lingers in my mind to this day. I loved that we were able to make our own character and explore the worlds of the princesses (Minus Belle and Aurora) I wished Disney would've had worlds for Belle and Aurora but for what the game was, It was a magical journey for us young girls who were growing up in the 2000's
Oh man, this reminds me of the Disney princess tie in series of my childhood, The Princess Collection. These weren’t original specials or anything, just vhs compilations of episodes from the Aladdin and Little Mermaid tv shows. But, each video had special princess collection branding and there was an original theme song that played at the beginning of every compilation. I recommend looking it up, the song always got me so hyped lol
(Also, please don’t call yourself old, SGH, I was literally in high school in 2007 😭)
In Finland and the Nordic countries, they released three of these Enchanted Stories DVDs, but the latter part consisted of episodes of the animated series and short clips from the sequel films. For example, the episode where Ariel meets the dumb mermaid Gabriella, the episode where Ursula destroyed Ariel's cave, episode where Jasmine and Genie helped a kingdom whose child sultan's mood affected the climate, a segment from Cinderella II, segment from the Beauty and the Beast Enchanted Christmas, and the song about the balance of opposites from the Mulan II. My family bought those DVDs for my little sister, but I also watched them myself as a kid.
OMG, I vividly remember seeing ads for Enchanted Tales: Follow Your Dreams on Toon Disney back in the fall of 2007. Sadly, none of my older cousins knew it existed and it's not even added to Disney plus. Even if the feature is a little flawed, you can tell a lot of hard work was put onto continuing the legacy of both Aurora and Jasmine prior to their recent appearances in Sofia the first. Either way, great new video analysis!!! 👸👸👸😍

Also, maybe that's not the case, but Enchanted Tales has such Kingdom Hearts vibes, but with just the princesses. Super cute!!!

This would’ve made a pretty good anthology television series. It’s amazing that of all the years that the Disney Princess franchise has been around, they never did a TV series.
I didn’t really grow up on Disney Channel or being a princess girlie. But I have watched both Enchanted Tales movies. I actually liked Jasmine’s, both made her look more active in her kingdom than the way she’s in the movie. I wasn’t really a fan of Aurora’s tbh, oh well. Belle’s Magical World actually does include one of the deleted Enchanted Tales stories with Mrs. Potts Party. I heard Mulan and Cinderella were supposed to get short stories as well, but it’d be nice to see if Pocahontas and Snow White had planned episodes too. I never played any of the games, but I was kinda disappointed Pocahontas and Mulan weren’t included in the group when they were in the official lineup. Same for non princess characters like Esmerelda, Jane, Meg or Kida, I always wished Disney gave the less popular girlies some love

I loved the Wii game, I used to love snow whites world, Cinderella’s world gave me so many jump scares lol as an adult I don’t know what I was so scared of lol.
As someone who watched the dvd idk i feel like aurora’s story was meh but i legitimately really enjoyed jasmine’s story with her two songs being my favorite out of the whole special
I remember Disney Princess Enchanted Tales which only feature Princess Aurora and Jasmine's side stories and the only series to be released on DVD. It's a shame that they never do more Disney Princess Enchanted Tales because I would like to see Bella, Cinderella, Ariel, Pocahontas and Mulan's side stories too although I once seen a trailer on TH-cam for the second Disney Princess Enchanted Tales to be released onto DVD which feature Cinderella and Mulan but for some odd reason it was cancelled.

I really love having good old childhood memories such as Disney Princesses Magical Jewels and Enchanted Journey,I played these two games as game and especially with Enchanted Journey,I played with my sister Lizbeth when we were kids and still to this day we're still playing it together. I never watched the actual Enchanted Tales but I do remember owning a *book* adaptation of Aurora's segment. Seeing those images in motion brings back MEMORIES, wow.
I had to look through my vhs cabinet as soon as I heard Enchanted Tales. I found a tape for the Princess Collections, called Jasmine’s Enchanted Tales. 😂
Hearing about the Enchanted Tales in this video makes me want to go rewatch those old vhs tapes now.

Literally thank you so much for giving this the attention it deserves, I was obsessed with this movie when I was younger and I desperately wanted to see the princesses in her golden dresses in one of the movies. Honestly I hope they bring back the golden dresses for the new princesses and the ones that they never gave a golden dress to like Mulan. Seriously imagine rapunzel in a gold dress like??? That’s so perfect for her if disney doesn’t do it I’ll use my artist skills to do it myself

Yes! I loved Enchanted Journeys on the wii! It was so good! One of my favoritve games!!! I don't remeber when we got the game but it was few years after 2008. (When i was born) I just remember always having it.
I kinda feel like Marvel Rising took some inspiration from this concept. Also, I didn’t realize this Gold Dress Era was part of something bigger, and I think had this idea came later, these shorts/specials might’ve been released straight to TH-cam or something.
Tbh I honestly don’t blame John Lasseter for canceling the second Enchanted Tales film
At the time Disney was oversaturating the DVD market with their Direct to DVD sequels and they weren’t received very well (and tbh most if not all of them are bad)
He likely cancelled it (as well as all remaining planned sequels) so Disney would get back to the standards it was previously known for
the enchanted journey video game is such a fond memory of mine. my favourite world was also cinderella's, it just felt like the biggest one of the 5 to me!

I remember hearing "You'll never lose this love" on a DVD bonus feature and it was really bugging me that I had no idea what piece of Beauty and the Beast media it even came from. I tried making a lost media wiki page on A Kingdom of Kindness a while back but didn't know how to save my progress at the time so it was a bust 😭 hopefully now the cancelled sequels can get more attention in the lost media community, I want to believe they're in the Disney vault somewhere. There's a teaser on TH-cam for an installment of the franchise where Mulan was supposed to appear!

I just recently found and bought Enchanted Tales, which I found in a thrift store a few days ago, and then this video popped up in my recommended! I loved this and was absolutely obsessed with it when I was little. I would force my dad to rent it from Blockbuster every time we went; this was a massive part of my childhood! Nice to know that some people remember this!!
the flood of memories that just drowned me rn, i remember watching this stuff and convincing myself that it was a whole show ToT good to know i didnt miss out on any extra content i never watched.
I remember having what I think was a tie-in story book about Enchanted Tales growing up! They were just episodic stories about a couple of the princesses, with the ones I remember being Jasmine taming a horse (although I think this one was black instead of white), a Sleeping Beauty story about the fairies arguing and making a mess, and one about the Genie bringing a snow day to Jasmine’s kingdom. Still not sure if they were tie-ins, but this would have been around the time of this happening.

I wish I still had it. The only thing I remember about enchanted tales that wasn’t something online was a pillow book. Are used to have a book that was also a pillow. The idea is that you could read yourself a bedtime story and then sleep on the book comfortably. I remember really liking it. I don’t know why I don’t have it anymore to be quite honest. That’s something I think I would’ve kept somewhere, even if I don’t necessarily use it anymore.

Oh, I sorta remember this!!! Honestly, I didn't know that there was a direct to DVD series of it alongside the dolls and games so that was a pleasant surprise! I remember getting the DS game from my pappaw and I think I still have it around somewhere!
While I never had "Enchanted Journey", I've watched several playthroughs of it on TH-cam, and it looks like such a fun game that I wish I had. It basically reads like "baby's first Kingdom Hearts". It easily could've gotten a sequel that could've utilized the other princesses, but no dice, sadly.
