Whatever age, country, education, backgroynd, everyone has seen a disney movie and have that one fond memory revolving around it. Thank You Walt for blessing us with your ideas and making the world more bearable with your magic
I saw the movie of his history. Boy he had it hard. He may have been a dreamer, but he started out as a lousy business man. It’s amazing how he ended up creating the greatest entertainment empire of all time.
Let's be real, that happened because of Roy. Roy was the business mind, and every time the company was in the black Walt would come up with a crazy idea like "I want to make a feature length animated picture", or "I want to invent theme parks".
Disney sure had the heart of a hero. He had courage and he never gave up on making happiness happen for kids around the world! Thank you for uploading this. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, MsMojo! ; )
Actually, that's not right. It started with a rabbit, Oswald. Later, Oswald was stolen by producer Mintz. Walt Disney did not have its copyrights in order. He learned a wise lesson from that. From then on, everything was copyrighted. Mickey was Oswald with round ears instead of elongated ears. But it really started with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. A mega success that made Walt Disney rich and allowed him to build his beautiful studio. Snow White, still my favorite Walt Disney movie. The best.
I love Disney and when I saw the documentary about his life, made me love him even more. No one is perfect but he strived to bring happiness and positivity to children and the world. Good man in my book. ❤️❤️❤️
It was interesting to hear how ionic Disney films like Fantasia, Pinocho, Bambi, etc didn’t do well. How ever time has done well for them. Disney has passion and drive. No one can take away from the impact he had on American culture and the world.
Walt Disney fascinates me as a person, because he WAS a ruthless, obsessive businessman and unforgiving taskmaster, and at the same time he was sincerely devoted to the movies he made and the artists he sheperded. He became so ruthless largely because he truly wanted his work and its achievements to be preserved and appreciated. Those two sides should be incompatible, but they were both in him.
Walt Disney just wanted to create a magic wonderland to bring everything together. I am curious as to if he ever met the creator of Peter Pan James Matthew Barrie. There was a duality within Walt Disney himself.
I highly doubt it & considering Peter Pan was a major huge horror story I doubt that the author would give someone the rights to make his horror story into a children movie ?
I wish y'all would have mentioned the fact that his father beat him all the time. Lily said up until the end of his life he'd still have nightmares about missing one of the houses on his paper route, because that always ended up in a beating. It's why Roy left home as soon as he possibly could. It didn't stop until Walt was 14. Elias took him down to the basement for a beating, and Walt caught Elias's wrist, telling him, "You will never beat me again."
