Thank god finally a video that thoroughly shows the process for the lux 60. I just bought one and had a feeling something was wrong with it and this finally confirmed it for me. Thank you!
Hi Chanty, I enjoyed your lesson. I have bought both my daughters (Ali 39 and Whitney 37) Instant Pots, but never bought one for me. I always wanted one but didn't want to spend the money. Both my girls are great, adventurous cooks. I am too, but as I have aged and empty nest, well not so much now. However, today I went to local thrift store looking for something, which I didn't find, but did see this brand new never used Instant Pot IP-Lux. It does not have a manual it did have the plastic cup, and spoons etc that you said you never use. It also had a very small insert but not sure it is the same as yours, it looks more like a trivet. Anyway, I got online to find the manual and was looking it over then was hoping to find a video. So, needless to say, you video pretty much made me feel better, because the manual makes it seem like I need another seal, but when I watch your video mine is just like yours. I just was getting a little concerned that maybe, whoever donated this to the thrift store might have been missing important parts. Anyway, I am going to look for a few more videos like yours and probably rewatch yours, but I did want to thank you for your video explanation. God's peace to you, and if you don't about the tv series called THE CHOSEN, I want to highly recommend you watch. Bye
Thanks so much for this video! I’ve had a lot of success using the Lux as a rice cooker, using the RICE button for 10 minutes; a cup of rice for a cup water usually comes out perfectly. Don’t forget to throw some butter in there. :)
For beans I always cover by 1 to 2 inches of water depending on how much I’m making, then when they’re done i drain out the water at the end! And to be honest I don’t think I’ve ever made white rice in my IP but I’ve read a 1 to 1 ratio works !
For white Jasmine rice I used a 1 to 1 ratio, manual for 3 minutes and natural release for 10 minutes and my white rice after rinsing has been coming out great. The link is how I learned to cook white rice: th-cam.com/video/jaopjRkxQSA/w-d-xo.html from Pressure Luck.............. I think Chanty is right about beans. I soak mine first, but then I insure they are covered with water in the IP. I'm sure you can hunt around youtube and get more specifics as there are just about any recipes on there for anything you can think of instant pot wise. I Hope this helped answer some of your question.
I just bought this same Instant Pot, quick question, when you cooked the rice you didn't set a temperature, is that ok to do no matter what you cook? i made chicken tortilla soup yesterday (for Cinco de Mayo) and I set the temperature on More (I guess that's high) and cooked it for 8 minutes, but the timer never changed from the ON position, what did I do wrong? I used my best guess regarding the time, and it came out just fine, but I feel like I didn't set it correctly (I may have taken it out while it was still on the timer?). Help, lol
*I love the instant pot so much! I have made quinoa, chicken, chili, asparagus **MyBest.Kitchen** and yogurt in it so far. The only thing that didn't work great was the asparagus. I cooked it for 1 minute and it was still overdone. It is a timesaver and uses much less energy than my gas stove.*
A great tutorial Chanty! I was still experimenting how to make perfect brown rice in my Instant Pot, I will try the 15 minutes you recommend 🙂 👍 Would that be the same for short grain brown rice?
Does anyone know why the instructions warn you about the electrical chord position? It says chord must be plugged into a socket above the instant pot, never dangle chord down to an outlet below the pot, & don’t ever use an extension chord. Anybody? Bueller?
You are so cute, thank you so much, i have just ordered an Instant pot, waiting for it to arrive. I live in England so its cost me well over £ 100 pounds. Purchase a Duo 6qrt. on Amazon.co.uk unable to order the 8qrt. Bc not available in this country. Even the extra steamers etc are so expensive here.
Wow so you have to wait for it to “pre heat” then the cook time and for a natural release an additional 15-16 min…. That’s like almost 40 min to make a rice. However great video I learned a lot, very informative. My brother upgraded his instant pot and gave me his old one, idk I think I’m old school.
lady stick with the medication, as you are getting yourself very confused, or leave the wine alone during cooking in the kitchen if you are going to give lectures make sure you learn the script off by heart before you give the lecture, it will sound and come across a bit more professional in your presentation.
Chanty you do a great job of explaining how to use the instant pot ... step by step in the process. Well done. 🌷
Thank you so much for this video. You inspired me to go buy an instant pot. I've never used one so I appreciated all the details and your humour 😄
Instant Pot tutorial while wearing an AC/DC T-shirt. Best video ever.

Thank you! I watch your newer videos but I think you’ve also convinced me to get an instant pot 😅
I am clapping- i looked at so many videos…. Thank you.

Good info!
I ALWAYS take my pot outside to force release.
Loved the video I was confused about the natural release which you clarified lol thanks! 👍🏽🙌🏼
Thanks!!!! I just bought one and had no idea where to start.
Thank you for rice guide. What is your ratio for beans and white rice?

This helped thanks. Couldn't find the pressure cook settings ;)
This video is very helpful. Thanks.
The lid on my Lux doesn't close like yours. How do I know if it is closed properly?

Hi
Did you forget some salt ?
Or do you add it after cooking
Klappi 71 I don’t add salt to my rice but you could add a pinch before cooking !

You saved us!! The manual is no good
You had info that others didn't no such thing as too much info the reason a lot of people have not used yet they don't have enough info
Love your instant pot videos. I still feel like you should always open it up away from your beautiful face though just in case👍🏼😉👍🏼
Kill the music bed, it’s distracting.
too long before showing us how to use it.
