I know a lot of people are critical on the reasons why the Bony Spirits and Fleshy Souls were fighting but I liked it. It made even more sense when it was revealed that the Wicked were amongst their ranks since they tend to make people around them more aggressive
Honestly, Kenny is underrated compared to Nathaniel. They’re not all that different personality wise, but I like that Level 5 went out of their way to give them very different designs. But one thing I remember not liking about Kenny is how his English voice sounds.
Yo-Kai Watch 2 is in my opinion an almost perfect sequel to the 1st game. While the key quests and backtracking can get annoying, it still manages to capture the same charm the 1st game had as well as expanding the series’s lore. Then Psychic Specters comes along and adds more content onto an already big game. Definitely worth playing.
The worst part is that you can get softlocked in the Dame Demona fight. I lost to her and no matter what I did, I couldn’t befriend any stronger yo-kai, and even levelling up my yo-kai didn’t change anything, and I was using A and B ranks, so it isn’t like I was using bad yokai.
don't worry about the delay the video came out pretty good! can't wait for the busters and 3 vids as you said "the first game will only start to feel bare bones from here on out"
Yes, another person who appreciates Spoilerina! Also, I have yet to discovered everything in Psychic Specters. I had no idea there was so much content in this version, I think I only managed to complete 60% of it. And no, dude, I'm gonna have to disagree; Kabuking may be a hard boss, but Kat Kraydel will remain nearly impossible to defeat. I saw some interesting strategies to beat her, but man....I heard if you beat her 100 times, and no, *legit 100 Wins* you'll get a very good equipment for your Yokai.
Yeah I've seen opinions going either way for whether Kabuking or Kat Kraydel is more difficult, I just find Kabuking's attacks more annoying to deal with.
I like how the infinite inferno is hell. And how the place Kat Kraydel is in is like that story where the person climbed a strand of spider silk to escape hell and go to heaven.
I know this is a year old comment, but the reward for 100 kat kraydel wins is literally just an achievement in the trophies app. The equipment can be dropped on any battle after the first one, and it only works on B rank or lower Yo Kai.
I was so happy to see this recently uploaded after watching the AMAZING first video!!! I’m really excited for the eventual Yo-Kai Watch 3 upload and listening to everything you have to say about it, as it truly is one of my favourite video games I’ve ever played, and it’ll forever be a shame that its accessibility is only getting harder :( it sounds like you’ll do it loads of justice, just as you have with the rest of this franchise by far in your retrospectives. Pretty sure the purpose of Paradise springs was for grinding levels because they gave a lot of experience but even if that was the case it'd take hours or even days and ended up just being cumbersome in the end

God this game is so good it’s honestly sometime hard to decide whether this game or YKW3 is better because they are both so good but in the end YKW3 is better but YKW2 has the some of the best bosses and story in the series easily it’s also the hardest game in the series I remember how long it took me to beat Dame Demona and even then Komane was one hit I had no food and everyone else was dead so he had one shot he my god did he take it

That's a problem most pokemon third versions have too, they usually leave out a few version exclusives so you still have to trade or own multiple versions for proper dex completion.
I LOVED this game when I played it as a kid and I’d totally replay it today. I’m pretty sure I had Bony Spirits. I never played the first game, so it was such a fun introduction to the world of Yokai Watch and I have so many fond memories of playing it and watching Johne Awesome and Abdallah Smash’s playthroughs.
I can rationalise away the gaps in continuity like Baku and Mirapo with the fact that we only ever see Whisper, Nate and Jibanyan regain their memories. Everyone else still doesn’t remember their time with Nate, even by the end of the game. Others are harder but… I like the headcanon that Kin and Gin in their true evilness stole Nate’s watch and his memories… and his fishing rod, and his bike, and his bug collection. What despicable villains!
Yeah, I remember getting yo-kai watch 1 when I was 12 and liking it, getting yo kai watch 2 and thinking that they somehow fixed everyone of my complaints, taking the 3 and thinking that they somehow made it even better (2 still has a cooler story tho)
In my opinion, Yo-kai Watch 2 is the best game of the franchise. It introduces a much deeper story line than the first game (even though it's mostly a time travel plot), it has twice as many yo-kais, it has a better map layout, you can befriend bosses, and it introduces more challenges and gimicks without it overlapping with how the franchise originally was (like terror time, where you can access it anytime you want) Not to mention that it had two spin-offs based around the game
So I should play spirits and souls both before I play spectres? For some reason I thought spectre was like fusion of the first two like how there was Pokémon ruby and sapphire and then they made emerald which was the superior version I want to get into the series so I got the first yo Kai but there being so many 2s confuses me lol
Psychic Specters is kind of the "Emerald" but it also kind of isn't, it has it's own new and exclusive content to it, but the other two versions keep most of their version exclusive Yo-kai and quests. You're better off just playing Psychic Specters if you can only play one though.

About a week ago, I managed to beat Kat Kradel. Its the Hardest boss in the franchise no question. Literally has to use 4 Snartle and a Shogunyan (and Pandanoko because i wanted to use my rare childhood flex Yo-Kai lmao). And even then it took a few attempts.
Story wise, this game is incredible, i think i enjoy the first one tho because it's more enjoyable (because of key missions) but the best part of yo kai watch 2 is the post-game wich is just incredibli amazing and so fun to play, always amazing to play it (even tho i completed the game about 30 times)

jesus i hate how they replaced the intros of these games with the stupid overused swampy marsh remixes instead of just using the excellent Matsuribayashi de Geragerapo and Hatsukoitoge de Geragerapo/Gerappo Dance Train, especially that last one. They even used Don-Don-Dooby-Zoo-Bah! over that really great and somber credits music that the japanese got for Psychic Specters
Yo kai watch was the first really video game i played that wasn't mario. The game got me hooked for life even though I was 6 at the time i felt in love with the anime, and all the games. This game is always going to be apart of my life
I still love this franchise and still play some of the games to this day sadly cant unlock all cuz stuff is rare to find and my luck on finding the other games online are not too great but i enjoy replaying these games alot
The key is to sacrifice one yokai to use as bait for his glare/purifying rocket. Use a great healer like Elder Bloom who can revive with his soultimate. A yokai who can’t be hit by soultimates lime Darknyan. And use some pokemon who hit hard. Pin any items thrown or the boss gets them. Make sure every yokai is lv99 and you have plenty of good food and medicine.

I thought that was the point that they were making such a big deal over something so small
Wars can be as easy to start as a dispute over doughnuts. And if we’re not careful, we can take things too far. That’s the theme of the game to me.

There's not much difference between a war for doughnuts and a war for land. In both cases, it's war and it's not worth it for anyone.

I have yet to understand why these magical creatures are in watches.
That's the thing, they aren't.
they roam freely and are only summoned with medals that are inserted into the watch
They are Yo-kais, spirts or ghosts but a little different. Some are traped in the Crack-a-kai but other then that, they roam free in the city/forest.

Yeah the game doesn't make it clear that you don't have to use the touch screen for that, it's weird.
