I've studied a bit of Japanese, so I can elaborate (just a little bit) on the chimera creation screen, just going off of what it says on screen. Each slot has a pretty broad adjective, it isn't requesting a specific item. Slot "A" (where the Apple goes) says "Round Thing", Slot "B" (where the pen goes) says "Long Thing", and Slot "C" (where the bottle caps go) says "Small Thing". If I were to guess, you could probably use the cucumber or hot dog for the nose of the Apple-Pen Chimera, just going off of items that are right there in the inventory.
I think GhostCraft will be the general series name, as Holy Horror Mansion doesnt really sound like a series name. Also Im pretty sure the name GhostCraft was shared when the series was first shown off, like the game wasnt known yet. And it makes sence for a game and its specific name to be revealed together. Also the trailer shows that there are multiple of each ghost color, so I think you need a green ghost for an object to be alive, blue are needed to craft something, and many pink are needed to make a dungeon.
This does look like a lot of fun... I hope the chimeras are at least somewhat customizable. The idea of making that PPAP bit into a gameplay mechanic is so absurd, it fits the yo-kai watch vibe perfectly!
Even something where the parts have different colors and they show in the chimera would be cool. Like the apple pen thing having a granny smith green apple rather than the red and like a gold pen rather than the regular one

I am genuinely really excited for this. As someone who collected yokai IRL but never got around to playing the games, I am much more excited to start this. Maybe my excitement for it would finally push me to play Yo-kai watch while I wait for the Horror Mansion ghost RPG whatever it ends up being
I believe the speaker during the Level 5 showcase presented "Ghost Craft RPG" as the concept for the game, as if it were a genre that is unique to HHM. Much like Death Stranding being a "Strand Type" game, HHM will be the very first "Ghost Craft RPG", which is to be differentiated from a "Creature Collector RPG", despite being similar. The creatures here are ghosts, and are being crafted by spirits inhabiting the real world, rather than spirits in their natural, raw form like the Yo-Kai were.
Id say its nice they are chasing course yet still having the same vibe. You acquire ghost BUT you need to put in the effort, depending on the type...for perhaps getting some items for making certain ghost will require you to explore dungeons. And perhaps you can switch out body parts to make the fused ghost stronger. Hopeful thinking, yknow, stuff like that. But yeah, im really enjoying this new concept. I really REALLY hope this gets a release outside JP, cuz i know people would go NUTS for a conceot lile this. Sure on the surface seems simple. But if you look deeply, it shows that ANYTHING deserves to have a will to live, and i am also curious on what those ghost represent in Japanese mythology. Green, Blue, Pink...kinda like Eddy, Bear, and Katie

Okay, I’m pretty darn sure that “Ghost Craft RPG” is a description of what KIND of game this is, as you clearly craft together ghosts in this RPG. The fact alone that Holy Horror Mansion had a LOGO is more than enough proof that it’s the game title, like it or not

I'm very open to this new game. Ghost craft (thats what I'm just gonna call it) seems like something fun to play. Its to early to say about the battle system but i like the designs of the world and creatures. The object ghosts are a nice concept. Along with the regular ghost. Starting fresh will be a foreign thing to new people but Pokemon black and white started fresh too. People at first disliked them, now its highly regarded as the best in the series. I just want people to at least give it a chance and be more open minded about it. As for me I can't wait to see what ghost craft has in store.
One thing I would like to say is, it is probably highly likely that the new game will have at least jibanyan, as he was the old mascot, and had many variants Tho for the yokai watch cast it probably just be him and or 1 other sub mascot
The art, animation and musuc seem great. I just hope they show off more gameplay of what the battle system is like. I find it funny people insist _"Yo-Kai Watch is dead!"_ and people have been saying that for over a decade only for it to keep getting content in some form. Donkey Kong Country is far more "dead" than Yo-Kai Watch has ever been. DK had to wait over 15 years for an overpriced port while Yo-Kai Watch has gotten tons of stuff in that time frame. Reason I bring that up is cuz many people from my experience do not say Donkey Kong is dead because it is too "important" or something like that. Not to mention, did we forget Level-5 only recently made a sequel to the long-"dead" game Fantasy Life that is just aroubd the corner in release? If anyone reading this the kind of person that says this or that is "dead", give it a rest and play other games in the meantime but please continue to show support cuz I know it is important to ya. Side note, anyone claiming this game is AI made that the fuck up and has no proof.

I'm definitely interested in this new IP. I hope Level 5 takes a chance and localizes it when it eventually comes out. I think it has many of the unique charms that Yo-Kai Watch carried, while seemingly also being more like a standard RPG. As much as I liked Yo-Kai Watch for its uniqueness in the RPG scene, I also completely understand and am totally fine with them choosing to make the successor a more standard RPG.
I think Level 5 said they're aiming for global audience with their future games and they even had English/Chinese subtitles for this presentation so it's definitely likely it will get localized!

My guess is that you might be able to get different schematics which will allow you to form different creatures. The apple pen one looks like a turtle, so my guess is there could be schematics for different animals like a bird, dragon and bear for instance, perhaps drawing on inspiration from Chinese Zodiacs or something.

The only thing that’s iffy for me is the main character’s design (his eyes in particular). Which is fine but also kind of communicates that Level 5 isn’t confident it can reach a global audience by sticking to its guns

I'm happy we get a new game with new story, yes it's not yokai watch but let's be honest, the adens story's are over, Nate and Katie gave up there watches, have kids who become queen and subordinates of the queen of yokai (thecniclly the way you look at it, I also consider the game to be more cannons when it comes to fours part of the anime/ manga) So in a way, unless they start with a new kid, the anime/games story is over tho I do wish they just added a new item instead of getting rid of the watch idea but nevermind that😅

I can only think that it is really close to GhostForce, a series about a blue, pink, and green ghost, and a save the day collect-a-thon.

It wasn't Japan only. In 2019, Yo-Kai Watch 4 was released in Japan, Taiwan and Hongkong. It came to mainland China in 2023.

What do you think about the usage of ai in the game? I'm not sure of they used ai or not. I just saw a bunch of people pointing it out on twitter.
I'm happy we get a new game with new story, yes it's not yokai watch but let's be honest, the adens story's are over, Nate and Katie gave up there watches, have kids who become queen and subordinates of the queen of yokai (thecniclly the way you look at it, I also consider the game to be more cannons when it comes to fours part of the anime/ manga)
So in a way, unless they start with a new kid, the anime/games story is over tho I do wish they just added a new item instead of getting rid of the watch idea but nevermind that😅
I could never see a Yo-Kais such as Pokemon Z-A and Digimon, Absolutely that was fantasized about is for Crossover anime movie
I feel like they should've announced ports of YKW1 and 4 and THEN release the HHM Trailer so lanynpeople wouldn't hate on it
