Richard, I'm not writing this to try to win the hammer, because I have enough. I am writing this to tell just how much I enjoy watching your video's. I do agree the door frame you built for your new workshop would have looked great as a part of your house, but that's okay we can't think of everything. The build is looking awesome, cannot wait to see the addition for your sawmill. Do love the interaction you have with your two labs, the black lab looked to be puzzled when you threw the ball, and your brown lab took after it. Then later you show them in the woods, and it looks like the black lab was trying to find the ball. It's like he was telling the brown lab, well if you cannot find it, I guess I well and then you turn the camera back to the shop and there's the black lab laying there with the ball beside him. You lost me at first when you put those two logs on the sawmill that I would have used for firewood, but I guess way waste it when you can get some lumber out of them. When you cut the 6 by 6 used to make the header, I don't think you planned on it being a perfect square cut with a bull's eye in the center. Well, that's enough from me, looking forward to your next video, keep up the great work!
I see you're sneaking up on hitting 50K Subscribers! That's exciting! Folks just don't know what they are missing out on! #SMO #SmokyMoiuntainOutpost #Smoky #Dolly #WhatWeDoin'?
Good morning Richard, I do like your idea on that door frame. Can we say stout? Dang that's one strong build! Keep up that custom building, I love it!🤠
Great seeing the progression, it is looking good as always. The Giveaway hammer “Estwing” is from my hometown of Rockford,IL. Thank you for continued videos.
Hard to beat an Estwing framing hammer, I nearly lost mine today! It got covered with Ivy I'd pulled off a collapsed roof. The straight claw rips the roofing nails out of 100 Year old Tin with ease!👍 I'm really enjoying your inspirational videos.😊
When we build it the projects will come! Good job. I wear an engineer hat or a baseball cap and have the linner for the baseball cap. A bump cap it is called, just in case. One is doing a good job building whatever he builds. I polished up an older money clip today this went well for me. Enjoy the day, glad one is getting a lot of use from the heavy duty saw horses. People use them for tables too in the house. The workshop is going good. Paul in Ohio
Congrats to to the winners. I have been following y’all since day one , so with that being said I decided to go back and look at your first videos and boy a lot of things has changed. Love it. Keep up all the good work. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
Congratulations to last month's winners and to the July entries good luck to all !! Great video Richard, sure enjoyed watching you get so much done on the workshop and sawmill building. It is going to be very very strong built for sure. I got a good chuckle when you throwed the ball while Smoky just stood there and said Nah, Mollie will get it !!!It's really looking good around there, stay safe and keep up the great videos and fun. OLD DAWG DREAMING Fred.
Good Morning King Richard of the smokey mountains!! Ha ha ! Glad thinks are going your way! Just had to stop running from my wife to say hello for a bit! It has been very hot and muggy here - outside work is a no - no. Say hello to Jennifer and hope you guys have a great weekend!
@@SmokyMountainOutpost Doing well Richard. Just a little mad at the weather - I HAVE A DECK TO BUILD!! You are a true master at those wood joints! Watching you work is totally amazing!! Take care!!
Don’t think I’ve commented about this workshop build. When you set the door frame it really made a big difference in the design. YES you should have did this to the cabin. Man what a difference.
Richard, everytime I watch you on your channel I'm amazed at the craftsmanship you do on every project you do, from the cabin, outhouse, outdoor kitchen, the tower and now the work shop. Keep up the great work.
We really enjoy watching your videos. The craftsmanship you put into your buildings is amazing. Looking forward to the rest of this build. Be careful out in the heat, stay safe. Blessings to you and your family.

I am always impressed with the quality of your work and attention to details. I had no idea the interior framing for the walls was going to be so extensive.
I am truly enjoying every episode of this build! It's like watching an artist at work and your attention to setting up your cameras at different angles is spot on also, thanks for your hard work at putting these great videos together.

Been enjoying all your videos very informative. Was wondering if you have ever used a router mortise jig to cut your mortises in your timber framing projects? Thanks Jason
I'm not sure what happened with the comment I started, 😅 any way , what I mean to say is I enjoy watching your progress, as usual you r doing very good job, that door jamb so massive is great looking, but your dogs, looks like they need more walks to the creek 😅 they r getting fat, you need a nice 1 month vacation, away from it all so you can start a new cabin 😂 , bigger yet. Gods speed be safe and don't stop, you look like your in great shape, your not aging , till the next tim👍 Mike

Thinking back, he should have. I love this look!

You and Mr. Chickadee are leading the way for future timber framers. Great job in your work!!

Lots of progress.
Thank you
When you build something, it is really built.
Try my best!
That building is built so strong it will be there for two hundred years
We hope so
Richard as usual your work looks impressive! Bet you wish you had all those special tools when you first started.
Thank you! And yes, he absolutely does.
The work is heavy but after it's done it's rewarding, if you want it done well, do it yourself, right friend.?🇧🇷
I sure like the hammer 9:31 7-7-2023
I love everything that you have built, but them saw horses you have built looks heavy and real strong but huge.
Thanks! They are all of those things. Heavy is the key word, lol.
@@SmokyMountainOutpost Yes it is
Watching this makes me want to build something, but I do not have the tools or the mighty Richard mind to do it LOL.
😂, you can do it!
I think the word ULTIMATE is the correct choice for everything you've built thus far. From cabin to compound to city? Ha
LOL! Thanks, Mike!
I think Smokey was asking to go to the creek😂
I think he would ask me to build him a house down by the creek if he could speak
Hand hewing a milled beam is funny
I actually had a grin on my face while doing it because their value just increased “Ten Fold.”
I'd love to work and build in your environment. I have watched from nearly the beginning, live the content
Awesome, thank you!

You can do it, John. Some things don’t fit so there is a reject pile from time to time. Hope all is well your way!
This is the first time I have seen this type of wood clamp that you nail into the bench.
Pretty neat! We like them
Hey Richard, workshop is looking great! When will you be installing your solar system?
