7:50 has got to be the most pleasing clip ever. Your chisel is ridiculously sharp and literally looks like you're shaving butter off a block or something. Oh man......that's nice. Well done sir. Cheers!
The best advice you gave, and something I have messed up over and over....always work towards the middle so you don’t blow out either side. Great video!
“Quickest and most enjoyable way to cut these” I’m guilty of forgetting that second part. I’m very inspired by your ability to slow down and enjoy the process. Thank you 🙏
your hand cutting methods are the cleanest I've seen so far and your work methods are very inspiring, Always enjoy seeing your videos Chris, very awesome work
Very nice. One issue we had on our timber frame home was leaving the pegs long on the outside. They look great but the birds loved them. Went around and cut them all flush.
This was awesome! I'll probably never build a timber frame structure but I can sit and watch this and learn about it for hours. You said something at one point in this video "...the most enjoyable way to cut these." I think a lot of us get hung up on how fast something can get done and forget to enjoy the process. This is why I watch your videos.
So happy to see this video. Chris very beautiful job. It's absolutely gorgeous. Can't wait to see more videos. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend Chris. Keep making. Keep Framing. God bless.
Large carpentry like this is really satisfying. Curious, total planning time? Total execution time? Cost? Cost if you contracted the entire thing out to someone else? Any permitting and inspection required? Nice project and well done.
@@ThirdCoastCraftsman absolutely right you are) i built my whole house with audiobooks in english, except dusty kind of work or course. in my project of such a lean to i'll add a geometrical carving scandinavian style on vertical parts. i think a little bit patience, a lot of router work and it will be done)
Why do I feel so good after watching this video? I think it's because we are witnessing another human being creating something that dates back to antiquity. Brilliant work my friend.
@@ThirdCoastCraftsman Say, I saw your beautiful dog in another video of yours. What breed is it? Also, beautiful work. I've been following you since you put up the cedar shingles.
"We're gonna' need a bigger chisel." You, sir, are an absolute artist, and watching you work is an absolute pleasure. The time and attention you commit to your craft and doing everything the "right way" is impressive and admirable. Thank you so much for taking time to document it and share it with us on TH-cam!
Love > I am doing a very similar construction but bigger using in fact the same methods. Nice to see more people engaging in proper timber work. Thanks for sharing, soon I shall post the series of my work.
Hi, isn’t it amazing how lots of practice makes all these jobs so much easier? It must be an old way of thinking as I can remember my grandfather telling me that 70 years ago! Cheers mate. Harera
Nice build, I like that the pine cuts straight with a chisel, I’m building a structure using larch and the grain is wild, makes chiseling difficult….well done..👍👍
Man I forgot how much I’ve been missing seeing your joinery work videos.
Thanks man. I missed doing this stuff just as much

Haha thanks. Yea she’s definitely sharp 😁
Never heard about the under-squint-ama-thigger-joint (6:53). In my notebook it says just simply it's a *"French Lock"* :hahahaha
Can't believe I missed this for over two years! Very awesome build.
Appreciate a Craftsman showing his skills. Just shows the possibilities one can do.
The best advice you gave, and something I have messed up over and over....always work towards the middle so you don’t blow out either side. Great video!
Chris, that's absolutely beautiful! 💪 💪
Hey Brad! Thanks bud!
“Quickest and most enjoyable way to cut these” I’m guilty of forgetting that second part. I’m very inspired by your ability to slow down and enjoy the process. Thank you 🙏
You should have opted for some nice tiles to match the quality and look of the timber frame.
Beautiful brother
Thanks Buckin! I need some of your Doug Firs for my next one!
A comment from the legend himself BBRS. 😮👍

Какая просторная и комфортная мастерская у Криса. Рад за него.
Thank you for including the worried child into the video. That wholesome interaction made my day. So adorable.
Haha that’s my favorite part too. He’s such a cool kid.

Well done. Would love a channel update and where you are headed. So good to see a Midwestern guy getting after it!
It is really great that you are sharing traditional carpentry to pass down to the next generation.
Looks absolutely amazing . A long way from the garage😀
Long ways indeed haha
That’s a beautiful lean-to, great job Chris.
You love being an artist....this is true artistry. I will be watching you in your house and barn builds. Blessings, and Shalom!
The amount of patience is strong with this one. No way I could have enough patience to do just a single post.
A good audiobook makes this type of work super enjoyable. Just relaxing cutting wood haha
