    Akos has been rehabbing an injury in his hamstring area for the last few years that has kept him from doing anything substantially long. He is currently living in Hungary for the school year and works in the us for the summer. (he is here now) He is an awesome dude, one of a kind person, truly great guy worth knowing. It was an honor to be a part of his crew the three years we did it. I have never submitted it..not sure how to go about that. Thanks so much for taking the time to watch.

    This is the real deal!
    It is a testament as to what the human body is capable of doing.
    I am a big fan of the Badwater race and do not understand why there is not more media coverage of it. The people that run this race are the true ultra-athletes of the world in my opinion.I camped out at Furnace Creek last month so I could get up at 4:00 and bike out to Badwater to watch the 6:00 AM wave start. It was so exciting!
    What is Akos doing these days?

    So inspiring. I smiled, laughed and cried. Akos was a true warrior and proved we can all run if we are truly passionate about the sport. The camera man was hilarious. I loved the no filter and his friendship with Akos is gold. The girl surprised me with her supportive mentality and I would guess would be been behind Akos if he decided to run across the entire U.S. The late crew pick up was truly a blessing. He was like an angel with his wisdom and inspiration. It would be amazing to see you guys crew him in his 70s. Thank you all for sharing.

    Life is about overcoming obstacles. This morning I tried to text a girl but realized I didn't have the exact emoticon to convey my emotions. Then I opened up my packet of Pop Tarts and realized one had been partially broken. Yet I still went on with my day, undeterred by the obstacles put in front of me. I think my plight is comparable to the struggle of Akos Konya in this video.

    This is the second time I watched this being a former runner and my Dad being from Hungary. Fantastic job you could not have ‘cast’ this any better. Each individual was different and added to the story immensely. The organic nature of it made it so suspenseful. Great job!

    One of the most underrated running docs here on TH-cam. Still my favorite as it makes up for lower production quality with an authentic and personal approach.

    thanks! I hope it came through in the video but akos is my hero and I, to this day, praise the kind of man he is... he is family and loved like a brother. He is the most honorable person I know on this planet. soo everyone must know!! I know who did the work. heck I felt blessed I didn't have to go the three days! that energy would not have persisted for sure..we would have passed out. in retrospect not sure what we would have done had he had a longer race, we had no back up crew members.

    So motivational. Akos is a beast. The crew shows a critical role in keeping Akos' spirit up and the cameraman is amazing. I don't see why all the bad comments about him. I would love to have someone like him to push me further whenever I feel crossed my limit. Great documentary.

    I think the thing I love most about this is the number of people that come together to support each other and the runner’s pursuit of finding something within themselves.
    Imagine what we could do collectively with this sort of spirit.

    I really enjoyed this. Akos is an amazing athlete and a great personality. Karsten was a super addition to the team and Anissa was superb crew, as far as the video guy (Gary) goes, no complains. He was an amateur crewing for his buddy and the love and respect was obvious. Thank you for sharing. Btw, I had heard of Akos because Jurek mentioned him in his book and knew the outcome, but still was great to watch.

    Saw this and thought, 2 hours, what? Then saw this guy no one knows going out to a big lead and thought, well, surely he DNF'd, and then he almost beat Scott Jurek. What a great story. I like the lo-tech production, the simple honesty of it, the three-person crew, the old guy, Carson, they picked up as a crew member, always with the simple, understated truth and vigilant to his task, and getting choked up upon realizing their success. Inspiring.

    Love this documentary! It is well edited and the raw footage, without music or a narrator explaining everything to us, is refreshing. At first when I watched this, I thought the camera man took over too much of Akos's journey.. but really, he was cheering for his friend the way he knew how to! If the crew had an issue with it, especially being around each other for over 24 hours, I'm sure they'd tell him to be quiet.. especially Akos himself; who trained his ass off and having ultra focus he'd cut anybody off from disrupting his race. Awesome stuff!

  • @rushodai929
    @rushodai929 ปีที่แล้ว

    "I just want to finish." Finishes 2nd place, 17 minutes behind Scott Jurek. Absolutely brilliant. Well done Akos. Mad respect to the crew, and having a veteran ultra runner along was a nice bonus for them, and for us. Karsten's insights were great. I hope he got to run it the following year. Something to inspire me as I begin training for my first ultra!

    Very inspiring, i cant imagine running over 100 miles in a steaming desert. Then again, back when i started running two years ago, the thought of running a 10k was mind boggling to me, yet now im running marathons. Obstacles that seem daunting at first can become doable after lots of hard work, i saw that in Akos as he strived and sailed through the scorching hot road doing what he loves. While i dont think ill be ultrarunning, this definitely motivated me to keep running and qualify for Boston someday. Thanks for this
