You can see that runners can be older as 100 miles plus races aren't fast like a marathon & most competitors a very thin. It takes an incredible strong mind to overcome pain that is constant all the time and to start again when you take nourishment as your body is wasted.
Lmao stop with the goggins talk give some credit to all these other machines who do this race and have no attention or hard ass attitude about it. I like goggins as much as the rest of you but there are so many other people here doing the same shit it's just not fair to only give shoutout to him because he's famous.
Figure an average is about 100cal/mile, so that’s 13,500 minimum. Given rise in elevation, temperatures changes and god knows what else the actual number is likely higher. The pace each runner runs at and ultimately the time he/she takes to complete the course are highly likely to be a significant contributing factor as well.
Isn’t this the race where Goggins had to quit because his muscles were so tight? Or am I mistaking it for another year. Or is this the one where he had to walk most of it?
Furnace Creek and Stovepipe Wells.... The names of these towns would play games with my mind in 100 plus degree heat. I would envision a stove with its door wide open with a blast of heat. I know I couldn't, wouldn't do this run.
toughest race? i think the Barkley 100 is the toughest race in the world! under 25 finisher in over 30jears.but big respect to everyone starts to all who is running an Ultra footrace.
+parsoniareigns Not that I have done any ultra runs but I have watched many of the videos. The topic of what is the toughest race comes up time and again. Some define Des Sable as a guided tour compared too other a race like Badwater or Sparthalon. Guess it’s a combination of conditions like weather and elevation but also cut off times play a part. From what I have seen, the Sparthalon looks to be toughest race but as I said, I haven’t done any.

How 'bout the Transcendence 3000 in NY as being the toughest? They run 3000 mi around one city block.
I think the Barkley marathon might be even tougher. It's only been completed 17 times in the 30 years of its existence.
Steve Stier 14
This seems so ridiculously unhealthy

Think that was MOAB 240
I wanna do this so bad. What are the requirements for this?
It’s like a job interview, bring your resume. I suggest you run around 2-3 50 mile races and 2 100 mile ones so you have a good chance
They should do before and after pics of the participants. ... And their feet too! Can't imagine the punishment

These ppl are in their 50s
You have to prove yourself strong enough to do it and ita pretty expensive to do so that may be why
"Legally Blind" guy is not that fucking blind at all...
Can you listen to music while doing this
The White Mr T Reloaded I saw a lady with headphones on in the video. So I suppose so.
CHRIS KOSTMAN TOLD GOGGINS HE HAD TO RUN FOR 24 HOURS AND ONLY DID 19 TO QUALIFY FOR BADWATER.
I'm curious do those runners actually run 135 miles without periods of walking or is it flat out jogging the entire route?
Niko Bellic both
It depends on the person competing
Run walk jog cry...a variation!
