Airbag / SRS Light Honda Odyssey Easy Fix

  • The airbag light on my 2007 Honda Odyssey stays on and I have tried resetting it to no success. I have been driving it for over a month with the SRS light on. When the SRS / airbag light remains on the airbag will not deploy when you get into a collision so it is advisable to get this fix as soon as possible.
    Just out of curiosity, I decided to replace the 10amp SRS fuse in the small fuse box located on the driver side. After installing the new fuse, the light went away. I installed the old fuse back and the airbag light went on again. The old fuse still have continuity so I am not sure why is it causing my airbag light to malfunction. The only thing that I noticed is that the old fuse which is the original fuse that came with the car have discoloration which maybe causing the connection to be unstable. I am not a technician so I do not know what I am talking about but replacing it with a new fuse fixed my airbag issue that is why I am sharing this with you. You may have another issue but it is worth the try as a new fuse will only cost you a few dollar or your car may have a reserve fuse that you can use.

    Fixed it for a second, then came back on. All this because I replaced the head unit and turned the key forward before plugging airbag sensor in :(

      Sorry to hear that. Could there be any cable that was pinched or loose? I'm more of a computer guy than a car guy so this is a tech advise. How about removing the battery cable and let everything reset. You will also lose the radio code when you do this. If you don't have the radio code you can use this info to get the code

      Hope this helps.

      Hi. It is the 10 amp fuse at the end. You can pause the video at around 1:30 or you can check the diagram at the back of the cover. You can also check on the owners manual as they have the fuse listed there also. Hope this helps.

    Light will flash off and then right back on. The yellow wire is tucked in really good underneath the seat, how do you even get to it and cleaning the seatbelt contact, was not changing anything. 😡

      Sorry the quick fix did not work for you. Did you try a new fuse? Another thing you can try is moving the seats forward and back and making sure there is no weight on the passenger seat. If any of these method does not make it go away then it maybe time to visit a honda tech for a professional diagnosis.

    I have a 2006 Odyssey EX-L. This fix did not work. On to the next "easy fix."

      Thanks for sharing. Let us know what easy fix worked for you. There are other in the odyssey forum that talk about checking the wires under the seat and/or cleaning the contacts in the seatbelt buckle. You may want to give those a try.

      Did you ever get to the bottom of your problem? The fuse change didn't work for me either and I have zero idea what to do next. lol

    Just watched a different video about this fuse and the Russian guy has me convinced that I might die if I touch it. Do I need to unplug my battery for an hour before removing this fuse?

      Okay I did it anyway. Lol. I'm still alive. But it didn't fix my problem. Off to see what is next. Thank you for the video

      Just saw this comment. No you won't die and you have proven it yourself. Another thing you can look for is the cables under your seat. If you stuff items under your seat it may have moved the cable loose. If I remember correctly it is the one with the yellow connector. Just look for the cable connected to your seatbelt.

      @@diymanual Thank you for your reply. The fuse actually was the problem. The light was off the second time I cranked the car. But if I have anymore trouble with it I will definitely check the wires located beneath the seat. I never would have thought to look there. Thank you again for your post.

    Can not see clearly which fuse need to be pulled.

    • @diymanual
      @diymanual  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's the last 10A fuse in the middle row. You can also check the diagram in the fuse cover that you removed.

      Yes. It is the 10 amp fuse at the end. You can check the diagram on the cover to make sure. Good Luck.

    How can I find out which fuse?

    • @diymanual
      @diymanual  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It should be listed in the underside of the fuse cover. Or you can refer to the owners manual as they should have a section dedicated to the fuse location.
