    Hi! So glad you made it here. The good news is that I'm starting to feel better. I was able to do some more cleaning today. Hope you're all well.

    You are one of the few people who understand how I feel and why I can’t do certain things. Vacuuming & mopping are the worst for me! Sometimes I can’t even do all the dishes at once so I tell myself “just take care of 10 things, then you can rest”. Then I rest for 15 minutes and go back and do 10 more things. Haha🤣

      It sounds like we do have a lot in common. It's neat for me to have someone that understands how I feel!

    I can't thank you enough for posting this video. I too have fibromyalgia amongst other ailments all of which involve pain. I get myself so worked up about having to get things done that either I don't get anything at all done or I've done myself in for days or weeks. You are so strong and encouraging and I really do get a lot from your videos. Today is a day that Must get some things done and I'm not up for it but I just have no choice. Thank you Rozanne❤

      I can't thank YOU enjoy for telling me that it helped you. It's so encouraging and sometimes, I really need to be encouraged. Fibromyalgia and fatigue can mess with my mind and then I feel kind of discouraged about what I'm doing. But to hear that the video means something to you helps more than you'd know. I hope you'll have a great day.

    Thank you for all the content helping people who are fatigued. I am so encouraged by you! I personally hate dishes most of all so I do them very last, otherwise I get discouraged and feel like I will never get done. Also, I wanted to pass along a tip to you. God will dry your dishes and that will save time and energy 😊

      I'm so glad you enjoy these types of videos and that they help! My problem with the dishes is that I was so thoroughly schooled by my mom and grandmother to get them done and to not let them dry on the counter that I feel like my head is dangling sideways if I see them there. I feel anxious. It's less stressful to get them done. Ha!

    I appreciate that you're showing us how to be kind to yourself - physically and mentally. This video certainly did that. What a great idea to set a timer for so many minutes and also to have a rest period. That's a very healthy and effective approach. Your son was so sweet to pick you up food (handsome young man). As a mom, I know how much that would make me feel seen and loved. I hope you and your husband recover fully soon. You're a good wife thinking of him and making sure you're taking stressors from him by cleaning (what he normally would) since he's in training for a new job! ❤

    • @TowardsASimpleLife
      @TowardsASimpleLife  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. My son recently had to move back home. He sold his home, but even though he got some money for it, the prices of home (and rent) have gotten so high here that he couldn't afford them on his own even though he has a very good job. That's why three of my adult children live with me - they can't afford rent. It's much, much higher than our house payment. It's expensive even to rent a single room in a home! I'm grateful that we have a home large enough for all of them.
      It's nice to have my son around because he is very considerate of me and occasionally buys us food and things. He's really matured into a nice man.
      My husband and I are finally over the viruses we had. Yay!

    Today is a catch up day for me. I have not felt well the last few days and my house is suffering. I plan on getting it tidied today in ~30m increments.... YES!!!! I've definitely done this before and it's very helpful. I work for 30m and then relax for as long as I need, doing something I enjoy, like reading or watching a show. And then back up for 30 more minutes. 😊
    But first, my morning routine (which is when I listen to YT videos - but I had to stop and comment).
    Hopefully I'll get done what I want to get done. We'll see.

      @TowardsASimpleLife I have a record player ... it's actually really convenient because by the time one side is done playing I'm usually ready for a little break. Sometimes I have energy to flip the album over and clean / declutter through another side. 😊

    Good video! I was sorry to hear that you caught that "latest virus going around" bug, but are on the downside now so that's good. You got a lot accomplished in small bits of time! Well done! Two things: 1) I was glad to hear that your hubby found a job! Driving a bus for the public school will surely keep him busy - and hopefully he will have the same hours that the children do and have the summer off! and 2) I, too, have glass shelves in our fridge. And I use containers (which my family doesn't put things back in either) and they help to keep it clean. The other thing that I *love* is that I use Dollar Tree placemats for shelf liners in my fridge. These keep the refrigerator SO much cleaner! All you have to do is wash the mats and the glass shelves stay almost (almost) spotless. It was a game changer for me anyway.

      So glad you enjoyed it, Deb! He's almost through the training. He takes his formal road test on Thursday and is studying hard. Praying that he will pass it the first time. His trainers told him that he's doing well. Thanks for the tip about the placemats. I'm going to go to our Dollar Stores and see if I can find some.

    It is so nice to see your son so willing to help you out. ❤ Have you found that decluttering has helped you not to feel quite as overwhelmed? When we remodeled our kitchen, I decluttered it before we started (no need to pack it up and have to find room to store it) and I decluttered again before I put things away in the cabinets and drawers. Now we are adding a garage. It used to be a carport but the previous owners closed it in. So we are going to turn it back into a garage. Decluttering again! It's getting easier as I do it. But we still have so much stuff and so much that I know I won't part with just yet. But I don't feel so overwhelmed....yet. After work, I just don't have the mental capacity to do anything much and when I have time off, I am catching up on household chores and helping out with my parents. I enjoy your vlogs and I can apply everything you say to my own life.

    • @TowardsASimpleLife
      @TowardsASimpleLife  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It's amazing that he let me film him. He's typically very camera shy and I have very few photos of him as an adult. Decluttering hasn't helped me feel overwhelmed because it isn't the main problem. I'm learning that. It is nice to get rid of things I won't use though and I'll keep doing it. I'm just being more careful about it because I made so many mistakes in my first big purge and I constantly think of things that I want to use NOW that are gone. You're going to love having a garage!

    Thank you for the video and all the advices. Only in the past year this thought came to me: that I might not recuperate and I won't get to that 100% green. At the same time: it's not necessary to be in the best mood and in the best shape to move things forward. So it is necessary to embrace the imperfect and take breaks and so on. And this video is making me take this more seriously and and implement the strategies not just now and then but day after day after day. Hope you feel better soon.

      @@TowardsASimpleLife I'm glad to hear that at least the cold is over. I struggle mostly with feeling foggy, weak and tired all the time. I had pain because vitamin D deficiency and I solved that. Then covid came along and I had pains again but my doctor said I'm fine. Luckily another doctor advised me to try CBD oil and I was taking collagen supplements at that time and now I rarely have pains. 🤞🤞🤞I didn't expect that at all.

    • @TowardsASimpleLife
      @TowardsASimpleLife  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No, it's that the dishwasher was almost full, but not empty enough for all of the dishes waiting to be cleaned. It wasn't as easy as usual to get it going. (He does dishes for me all the time.) He also wasn't feeling the best that day, but had to get off very early in the morning to go to that training. His solution was to stack the dishes for me, which was better than nothing. :-)
