    Hi there! Hope you're having a nice day. Do you have a cleaning routine that is sort-of-organized, but still flexible? I'd love to hear about it. Also, are you buying new Christmas decorations this year, or are you using what you already have?

    • @mycat-r7y
      @mycat-r7y 9 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I have no routine, I do what I can when I can. First sign I’m recovering is I clean my bathroom and not have to go back to bed it’s a wonderful feeling.
      The carpet cleaning story was dreadful, it was the last thing you needed to cope with. No new decorations, I’m actually giving some away this year. Looking forward to seeing your curtains in place. ❤

      @@mycat-r7y Oh yeah! Me, too! When I'm on my way back, I clean my bathroom. I've started decorating and am really glad that I decluttered the decor in January. (I got it right that time!) It's really helping me to find organized bins and to know that I'd be happy using any of it. I don't have to sort through the junk anymore. It's proof that I can declutter right, if I slow down and am more thoughtful when I'm doing it.

      I am using the decorations that I have. I decluttered a lot of the decorations a few months ago and I am just keeping it simple this year. I don't have a set cleaning routine. I have been trying some, but none stick with me. I have ADHD so I have a hard time with lists, I never follow through. Maybe because my lists are too big 😂

    • @TowardsASimpleLife
      @TowardsASimpleLife  9 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @ yeah, I can make long lists. And then I forget where the list is and even if I do know where it is, I forget to look at it. I think mine will end up simpler but after last year, everything is simpler. I did a lot of big projects besides decorating. It was a lot. I won’t do that again. 😀

    Loved this video. I do a bit of cleaning every day when I can. It's easier to keep up than to catch up. One thing at a time is how I decorate due to chronic illness and limited energy. I use what I have and only buy if something needs replacing. Don't know if it's my age or my illness, but I do not decorate every single room like I used to. Donated quite a lot of decorations. Still decorate for the seasons, but no more over the top. Simpler, and I love it. Can't wait to see how your decorating turned out. Love from the Netherlands. ❤

    I grew up like that too- we wore shoes around the house too. It was actually bad manners to wear socks around the house!
    Now I have my own house, I let visitors keep their shoes on as too awkward to ask them to take them off but the kids are now in the habit of taking their shoes off 😅 we have cream carpets so had to get them to take them off as they come in!

    • @TowardsASimpleLife
      @TowardsASimpleLife  9 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      Exactly! I also think Mom worried about the socks getting worn out. I think I wouldn't ask visitors to remove them either. I have a sign stuck in a tree outside of the door. If they see it and choose to remove them, okay. We don't get many visitors though. It's mostly my family. But cream carpets? Yeah. Shoes would be a problem. :-)

    Can you afford to have your house cleaned once or twice a month? That would help you so much and then you only have to do touch ups in between. Or, with 5 adults and 2 kids in the house, can you assign regular cleaning tasks to each of them? That should help you immensely.

      I wish I could. Back in the days when I owned a company, I had someone come in. I couldn’t do that now, so I just do the best I can when I can. My daughter maintains the apartment in the basement, which keeps her busy. Both of my sons do some chores. My husband helps cook and do dishes some. I’m happy about anything they can do. The laundry and general cleaning are mine to do though. When I’m sick, it really gets behind because they just don’t see it.
