They are super durable btw. The foam resiliency never dies out. Sure if you land outside the rubber area in the lateral heel, you will eat some foam there. But it wont kill the resiliency of the foam. These last 700 miles easy
Haha Yowana out there triggering the British 😂 Soccer = football Banoffi = bananas and toffee Rushi Sunak = Rishi Sunak Downtown Street = Downing Street Love it though.. love all the content :)
Only 8 min in, gotta leave my comment. Dude, you rock. Love the vegan talk, it’s so true tho …the coffee sip cracks me up, too. That coffee sounded amazing. Anyway, appreciate this one… I’m strongly debating the Edge. ASICS is absolutely killing it! 🔥🙏
Love your content mate! I was looking at the Sky or Saucony Elite for Chicago, I've tried both at 5 & 10k - I got very similar times, 1) Sky 5k = 17:18, 10k 35:45 2) Elite 5k - 17:18, 10k 35:37. The main difference was that the Elite seemed so much more stable and the more pronounced rocker allowed me to cruise along at a fast pace. As distance increases these differences will be amplified even more. I absolutely love Sky Paris, but I just don't think I'm ready to take it to the full marathon distance. So will probably go with the Elite, which has softened up loads for me. Hopefully by the time I do New York in 2025 I will be ready for the Sky. You definitely need to come to London/UK, everyone is a "proper lad" here :)
Endorphin elite is a great choice, especially over sky Paris. I agree that the sky is just a little too aggressive for the full marathon - that's what I ran mine in last time and it was a bit narrow and harsh toward the end
Amazing content as usual. I would absolutely love to see a video shot on Sugar Creek greenway, up the Rail trail etc. One for just a change of scenery with the running footage, but also so you can have a little less familarity with the route/feel of the run. I think some shoe takes would be altered for better or worse, but an even more well rounded view of the experience. Of course all those things can come in time, you do plenty on this chanel with the time you have. I just got the Cloudboom Strike, and if that ever comes across your desk…it’s going to be an interesting day.
Both Paris shoes were too unstable for me. So these 2 along with the vapor fly 3 are the only shoes I have found to be not usable for me. I do admit the ride felt good other than the stability issue.
@@Fozzee.1970 not much tbh the vapor fly maybe 10 miles and the Paris models just 3 or 4 miles. But it's just how my foot lands that has a twist that I can feel immediately in these shoes. It's something that I have only found in these 3 shoes. I'd say the cielo x1 has an unstable feel too but that's a very different stability feeling. Most other shoes I have had no issues with at all. How many miles / km did you put on yours before they felt better?
As a bigger runner (97kg) I disagree with your comments. I find it comfortable and stable when running. It just works well with my gait and rolls me onto the forefoot. I don't think you should ever make assumptions on shoes based on weight. I find it the perfect balance of bounce and forward propolsion. Also dont agree with the durabliity. The previous models had similar exposed coverage and had no issues. I've ran on gravel in mine with no issues. The other thing is these shoes never bottom out and feel the same at the end of the race. I love them.
I feel the same about 'pace matters'. My fast pace is way slower than his slow pace, but the Edge Paris absolutely blew me away! Now I am predominantly a forefoot striker, and the ride just fits like a glove for me. It feels volatile, like bouncing around with a hefty tailwind.
Of course a runner’s weight affects how a shoe will feel. I’m similar in weight and there’s many shoes that just don’t work for me at all (rebel v4). Just because these shoes work for you doesn’t mean there’s not other shoes that wouldnt be better for you.
I’m a lighter runner (68kg), that’s older and slow (9 - 11 minute miles). I’m a heel striker and love this shoe. I feel racy and efficient when running, and it shows in my times. I too have an issue with the Rebel v4. It’s like there is a bar right across my arch. I’ve also ran in the NB Pacer v2, Hoka Skyward X, and Mizuno Neo Vista. None of them felt as good as the Edge Paris. That said, I appreciate Yowana and his dedication to reviewing shoes and educating us.
is the SC Pacer v2 your pick for the best super shoe for tempo, 5k pace, speed 200's, and some hills? Asked a couple days ago but forgot to include tempo within the cross country training.
Sorry missed your first note. Yeah pacer v2 would be a good pick for that since it's versatile and durable. It's probably the best of the race shoes I've tried for training. Some of the other ones like sky Paris, endorphin elite etc would feel faster but rubber won't be as durable and also a touch too aggressive for me to use every week/multiple times a week for training - pacer is much more comfortable. One thing is you may want to go half size up since it is pretty snug
Shout out to the chief keef reference 🙌🏾🎵 b**** love sosa 🎵 . Also listening from the UK and the Rishi Sunak and "soccer" reference made me laugh out loud 😂 keep doing what your doing, great content 👏🏾
loved my sky+ pair, just picked up the edge paris for workouts/long runs. excited to try em out! i have about 250 miles on sky+ outsole and foam have very little wear.
I think Matt knows a lot about physiology and running shoes, but I take everything he says about his experience with shoes with a grain of salt. He talks about eating through the outsoles of shoes in like 30 miles and is happy if a shoe makes it to 100 miles without being destroyed. He's gotta be loading the shoes in a weird way and also scuffing a bunch to see that kinda wear. For people with better mechanics, they just aren't gonna experience the shoe in the same way he does.
Hello, do you have any thoughts on Nike Vaporfly 2s? I recently purchased a new pair off Reddit ($130). Haven’t worn them yet. I was offered a pair of metaspeed sky paris (6miles) in a one for one trade. Thoughts? With my discount, I can get a pair of metaspeed sky Paris for about $180. Should I pull the trigger and make the trade or hold off? Thanks. I rotate between, ASICS SB1, Hoka Arahi, 1080v13. I also own a pair of CieloX1. Not sure if that info helps.
Keep the Vaporfly 2! It's one of the best racing shoes of the past few years, especially for half marathon and below. A lot of Nike's athletes choose the Vaporfly 2 over the newer 3. It's not the most cushioned but you're covered there with the Cielo x1
Theoretically the sky is for stride (more power) and the edge is for cadence (more steps). To me the sky feels more aggressive/faster and the edge is a little softer/more comfortable
my top pick is the saucony endorphin pro 4! comfortable and cushioned but with enough fun and speed assistance to give you more benefit than a training shoe. if you want something more stable the new balance sc elite v4 is also a nice option - it's a little too cushioned for me personally but a lot of bigger runners like it
He made a video in which he reviewed Sky Paris and Edge at the same time. It was easier for us and him to see the difference between the two shoes since they look exactly the same apart from the outsole color.

I can't speak for a marathon, but the Edge Paris felt wonderful for my last HM at about a 7:45 min/mi pace.
Edge is a great shoe. The heel is narrow though. But its super bouncy and the rocker is tuned for feel strikers.
Cant wait for the performance hobby jogger hat!
The consistency is still extremely impressive keep it up! Do you think in the future you could try some trail shoes?

This runs half a size smaller! Go up half a size from the Vaporfly to get a comfortable fit

No they are both a tad short from TTS. Personally I stuck with TTS and have no issues. If you size up the rest of the shoe is too big.
I had the exact experience with the size as @Fozzee.1970
