You 99% nailed the review for this album Pedro. I’ve only listened to it once but everything was next level and I have to rank it top 3 of 2024. The 1% I dock you on is I am of the Roger Ebert philosophy in that a good movie (in this case album) can never be too long while a bad one can never be too short. 🙂 This was like a Greatest Hits album with zero filler. Mad props to the band on this one!! 🤘🏻
This album is great. Is it better than Emblas Saga? Im not sure yet. That album is absolutely outstanding. This album wasn't written for the fans. This is totally written for the band. This is am homage to the influences of the band. Like said in this video, there are so many different genres, I can't see this as anything less than a love letter to music in general. I disagree about the length. It opens great, and slows down a bit then finishes in a way that blows me away. The Nana's Fate EP is basically the last 5 songs and holy cow they are great. My only fear is that the brother/sister duo of lead singers is going to fall to jealousy or sibling rivalry as Ylva's singing takes over. Looking in the comments its literally 99.9999999% Ylva is awesome. And to be fair it's the internet and hot, blonde, half naked chick is totally going to get the attention. But Joakim is so underrated. Im not a huge fan of the growling style of singing, but he can do it and harmonize with Ylva and I've never heard anything like that before. (Maybe I'm sheltered?) For this release i have Rivers of Gold, Nana's Fate, and Heavy Metal Vikings on loop since the release. My only real complaint can't even be blamed on the band. The song Emblas Saga is, in my opinion, their best composition. It's my favorite song from them and in my top 10 all time. I wanted something else like it. Some long epic, symphonic, killer track. Nothing like that on rhis album but like i said, that expectation is on me. Hoping they make it to the US at some point. I may remortgage my house to see them live!
Thank you for this review, I'm so excited about this album. Can't wait for them to come to U.S !!! 🤘😉
i was blown away with their live performence for the Fimbulwinter tour.
it was as strong and crisp as the Album itself.
I'm very hyped to see Brothers of Metal again next week live in Munich. The last time was one of the best concerts I've had in my life! 🤘
