I believe the sand green dome is accurate. The bank in the films has a small dome right above the entrance as well as a larger glass dome behind it.
Correct. The dome the dragon shatters isn't in the entrance tower, it's above the bank hall. So the set is accurate
This set will look so good with a light set to get the weird greenish lighting.
I think cutting stickers to make better looking set is worth it, I myself cut stickers for UCS Razor Crest, cutting out grey parts that didn't match grey of lego brick, and it looks way better.
Good call on cutting the stickers. The set's integrity and future value will hinge on it looking its best.

Great review Holly! I have watched others but was really waiting for your review to get the definitive gringotts review for your knowledge and passion! The GWP definitely pushed this to be a day one purchase for me. Glad I have it now. Can’t wait to see your next video on how you display this with Diagon Alley and also adding the GWP.

I think the facts that (a) the vault GWP is also a piggy bank and (b) it stands alone rather nicely make it better than a sheer cash grab. But i understand the salt for sure.

Great video! It’s interesting that you started from the bottom up instead of the other way around. Also, though it is unimportant, I think you forgot a 1x3 white tile at 11:31.

I went ahead and met the threshold for the GWP which is already sold out! Glad I did. I will eventually get this set for it's uniqueness alone. Love the dragon and bottom attachment. I'm not a knowledgeable Harry Potter fan but I buy amazing sets when I see them. Rivendell & Disney Castle come before this tho.

The photo shoot you did with both sides of Diagon Alley placed opposite each other was awesome. It made the street scene much more realistic.
When I get this set, I want to place Gringott’s Bank at the end of those two roads to see how it looks with the street narrowed in.
Excellent review, Holly! This is an incredible set with tons of details and Easter eggs, and you're right about the price. It is expensive and will have people really thinking about whether or not to buy it. It's great that they finally gave Bellatrix LeStrange, aka Hermione after taking the polyjuice potion, skirt printing for the first time since the first Burrow set. (That should have happened in the Battle of Hogwarts set.)

It’s physically impossible for me to express how much I want this set. The whole of diagon alley even. It just looks so cool. I have enough money for it but I can’t get it as I’m saving up for other stuff😭😭😭

I feel like this has the same issue that the foosball table and Land Rover sets had. Lego set a price that was way too much and the designers had to add extra stuff on top that a lot of people won't want just to justify that high price. Like I'd love a cheaper foosball table with just plain minifigures and no display stand. I'd love a basic Land Rover with no accessories to add to it.
Also that track system just makes me wish we get a Temple of Doom mine cart set

I'm waiting a bit before I grab one (Did snag the GWP though) but I really don't know what I'm going to do with the minecart section. It's really neat but I since I want to display Gringotts with the alley so it feels a bit superfluous. On one hand I really do like it, on the other another Diagon Alley store or just a cheaper Gringotts would have been more appreciated.
i wonder if i can put diagon alley with gringotts on top of my kallax unit and the mines in a square shelf beneath so they line up. it can anyone tell me if this will fit?

Great review Holly this a great set but it is expensive great minifigures and looks like it was a fun build recreating scenes from the first and final harry potter movies.
also did you get that Gringotts vault free of purchase because i think its neat having 4 vaults but whos vault is it in the 40598 set?
I did! Though I had to order sets online to get it and it hasn’t arrived just yet
I have a suggestion for the vault with the stone inside,if you have the original Hagrids hut set take the brown bag piece and put that in its place
I just wish they made a really detailed Gringotts without the rail system as I am only interested in the bank portion for my diagon alley. It's hard to justify spending that much for essentially 1 building when the diagon alley set came with 4. I know they will probly make one like the new weasleys buildings but that is not a very good display model. I'll probly end up buying one but definitely not anytime soon. Maybe for a good GWP or double points stack.
I think most people will only want the Gringotts bank and would've got just that at full price if it was cheaper. I feel like this is a bit of a fail for Lego similar to the foosball table and Land Rover

For that money I wished they skipped the underground part. As you said it doesn’t match in the Diagon alley set…
Maybe they could have done more details in the overall design or make it less expensive.. I’m not sure if I want this. Although I have the set…

This is the greatest Harry Potter set ever!
I'm about halfway book 3 at the moment. Love it, including the vaults. But those "Gringot ts bank" stickers... Although I'm already past the building step to apply them, I haven't done it yet. At least now I have a way to remember there are two T's in Gringotts.
Speaking of books, I think that would be a fun direction for the brand. Do one Lego diorama per book, like the course books and house banner sets.
If applying them to the edge of the bricks isn’t enough, I guess you always could cut hall a millimeters off of the edge of them

Hey @HollyOnFilm! Wondering if you could tell me about the height of Gringotts? I'm planning on displaying the building on a shelf and the underground on a lower shelf, so I'd love it if you knew the height of each separately. Lego only tells us the total height 😢

Do you recommend buying this set or Diagon Alley more? Theyre nearly the same in price, so which would you recommend buying first with the intention to have both eventually?
Diagon Alley. People usually recommend getting the older set first before it retires. The set’s really great!
I’d absolutely go Diagon Alley first, much like pure heat said, it could retire sooner, but I also think have the multiple buildings would be cooler to get first. Though I personally am leaning towards Gringotts being the better of the two

Haven't received my copy yet, so I don't want to pass a final judgement on this set.
However, from what I've seen, you may have those rose-tinted glasses indeed.
I can spot a fair few things I don't like about it on the building itself which, I'll be honest, is the only thing I'll be building when I get my set. I have no interest or need for the underground and it alone, as a display piece, is awful.
So far, I like the nano-scale Hogwarts Castle and Grounds set a lot more, even with its also existing flaws.
Now my only problem is, do I get diagon ally first or gringotts 😅
My vote would be DA, get majority of the street first and then get the crown jewel to top it off

Someone offered me 200 aistralian dollars deal for the bank only, no dragon, no minifigures, no underground tunnels. Should I take the deal?
I feel like $250 would be more fair since it's the more appealing part of the build and the price is a little closer in line with the Modulars of the same size
Did anybody else build their gringotts and have two 2x2 sand colored plates left? I scoured the instructions for if I missed and couldn’t find anything 😢

I doubt it, I think it will be one of those D2C sets that last years. Especially with Gringotts having just released. If anything the Icons and Train will retire first

Ya, it baffles me how Lego can mess up the "GRINGOT TS" . This should have easily been printed for the price. They should send a plate with the name corrected.

Almost everything that resembles Harry Potter is a sticker... In a $430 adult collecters set... nothing can justify this fact and it should be a red flag.

So we could have them spilling out EVERYWHERE! (By the way, not sure what YT thinks your audience is, but I got a 9min Russian travel vlog of a Greek island, snd a major Canadian news anchor hawking weed & magic mushrooms -- legal here in Canada.)
