Oh and one side note, I had to tick "Hide DS4 Controller" in Ds4 itself as well as everything you did, then my controller showed up as Xinput in the tester and then it worked.
Using HidHide worked for my cousin's PS5 controller, too, even though the Gamepad Test utility only showed one controller (DualSense). This fix is critical for every single annoying game that doesn't support DS4Windows out of the box. Good job! 🙏🏻

I hided the controller using hidhide and checked with ds4 that only the xbox one was visible. However, when I start the game it doesn't detect any button I press, not even in the press any button screen. Any solution?
on my gamepad tester I get 2 sony wireless controller, and I hided the computer entertainment one but still was with the "sony interactive entertainment wireless controler" and it still doesn't work, send help pls

Hey it worked for me. Try upgrading DS4 windows and keep restarting until you get the new UI as he does and the Key symbol should be present. Let me know how it goes. I've been trying for hours and I finally got it.
ok in order for it to work you must disable the steam input and leave just ds4, but for some reason the mouse pointer keeps appearing and it doesn't go away

For anyone with a problem, for me my controller profile in ds4 windows was set to dualshock 4, set it to xbox and the rest works perfectly
