Hey Nick Great video - very well done... however, and I know this is four years later.... LOL... but you mentioned that the original didn't have a good locking mechanism. I do own an original Pro XL - which is a 31 inch reach... and it definitely has a pivoting lock (metal pivot in the middle that swings down and locks). I don't want people to think that that is an improvement. I could very well be that only the pro's had this metal lock, though.
Its a Manfrotto 057 4-section with a geared center column. you can remove the center column for shooting low, like I have in this video. There is a link below to PROCAM, the place I got mine. procam.com/manfrotto-057-4-section-carbon-fiber-tripod-w-geared-column
thanks for your video Nick. I'm in a huge dilemma what size to get. i think all three can fit in my carry on luggage but obviously the lighter the better. Would you recommend the shortest one? or the longest?
hey is that the Medium slierplus PRO or just the regular medium? I want to pull the trigger but i want the one you are reviewing. And is that a good size for being a versatile slide length?
***** There isn't a timelapse module for it yet. If you use the sliderplus & motion control units vertically you do have to support the weight of the camera, as they are not design to carry the full weight of the camera when mounted vertically. I have the medium size, and I love it. Although if I had to pick between only short or long...I'd go long.
If I was to get the large version, would it be stable on a normal 502 manfrotto head? Thanks

what tripod would you recommend to use for it? Or which one are you using?
GREAT REVIEW !!!

Wondering how this one is compared to their current "Sliderplus LONG"... anyone...?

Yes it can.
