Never did I think I'd see the day where someone else would rise to be just as unhinged as JonathanGD, but here we are. Great job on finishing this! Level's sick, even if it's not my exact taste (I've never been big on realism in levels personally). Your work def shows here, and I'm glad I could help some with this vid! :)
For a beginner thats pretty good! But maybe you should make a 3d level with raytracing next time. No, seriously, this is SO INCREDIBLE COOL! But tbh i cant really see a big difference between the level at 1000 and 2200 houres of work. Instead of spending these extra 1200 houres to add extra details, i would just work on a new project. But still, one of the best gd levels ive ever seen.
Hate to be the nerd over here, but it's raycasting, not raytracing. Raytracing is solely responsible for generating realistic lighting, meanwhile raycasting is what turns 2D into simplistic 3D imagery.
@@thebunGDHe once gave a Medium Demon type early 2.1 level... an Insane 9* rating. Everyone said: "Yay RobTob got drunk again!" When The Vocab Quiz didn't get rated, you have to wonder where Rob is in the first place.
@@thebunGD Maybe he forgot the difference? Kinda like how he forgot to update the Amazon platform Geometry Dash to 2.2? He probably isn't thinking straight after so much hard work on an update that causes a crippling overwhelming sense when you look at the 1200+ decorative sprites.
Sick level, the amount of effort you put in your level and in making this video is amazing, this is as valuable for creators as Jamattack's Glorious Fortress videos. You are truly admirable
*Komatic,* I’m a perfectionist who’s been making levels for about 3 years. I’ve been trying to get past this barrier of “I know this detail is small but is it worth the time to change?”, and that, along with planning how everything moves and rotates, definitely boosts my editor time into the hundreds. People usually only watch a showcase of your level once, no matter how much detail is put in there. With that in mind, I’ve been going for realism in levels with more still images. It’s mainly because the timing of movements and rotations are especially difficult to make “perfect”, and sometimes no one’s gonna notice those movements in the background if there’s just… so much going on in the foreground. My recommendations for your level making going forward: I think creating a level that people will remember and not be overwhelmed with, having a simple main idea that’s prevalent, and mainly relying on decoration objects to make something feel “alive”, definitely makes its impact feel gratifying. I treat levels as learning curves and experiments, I never really plan to make “The Level” of my gd history (because that pesky perfection gets in the way). You did an incredible job with Anarchy Road and everything in this level is perfect. Just in the future, I recommend you make levels with the mental aspect in mind, and keep it over the logical and technical aspects of it all. TylevGD (Sorry about this comment being so long, I didn’t have time to shorten it.)
craziest shit i've seen this week bro this level is absolutely gorgeous, and the fact that it's solo built is insane! Maybe mythic rate incoming? idk cuz rating system sucks but this probably became one of the level i find the most beautiful in the entire game! keep it up
I learned a lot from this. I'm a creative person who loves to start new projects, whether it be websites, music, drawings or other things. But in the end I ditch a lot of them because I just don’t plan them well and never really set goals for them. Your approach and execution of starting and finishing a project is just remarkable and I will absolutely implement your methods for myself. Thank you! Also, this level looks astonishing and I love the way you edited this video, great work! ;)
From what i remember ive known you a bit before xtari I ? I've seen a lot of previews of various projects you did And honestly this is really awesome to see how much youve improved over time, you can be really proud of this level cause its insane how good it is Awesome job buddy ☺
7:44 Yes. The SECOND I found an inner circle of experienced people was the time I actually improved. I improved more over the span of 3 months away from the public eye than I ever did in the 4+ years where I asked for feedback from anyone I could find (my level comment section)
I had built a level with a giant railgun in the background, and I kid you not, the guns you made for this level are exactly what I was envisioning my gun to look like. My gun looks nothing like them now because I used something else as a reference XD
I didnt even know it was possible to stay motivated for that long on a Geometry dash level and i NEED to know how you can stay motivated and full of ideas. However the problem im experiencing is not that i dont get ideas or motivation. The problem is planning. I make plans for each section but i just cant stick with the planning and end up with mediocre generic deco with a copied style. (Help me)
Honestly, the only thing you can really do to stick to your plans is to constantly reference your plans and make sure you’re fulfilling them. That’s what I do at least
i don’t know if the amount of hours is correct for this level considering i have 2700 hrs total throughout all the years of me playing this game but wow this is some serious dedication 😅 amazing level dude
If you worked 16 hours per day and didn't miss any days that would give you 112 hours a week. That would lead to 18 weeks of 112 hour weeks for 2000 hours
this might even be better than any gd level out there, passing cgange of scene, ispywithmylittleye, what and so many legendary levels. probably worthy for a legendary or even mythical rating.
The trade-off concept really does apply to me well. I’m currently making a poolrooms (Backrooms level 37) themed platformer level, and put tons of detail into it but completely fucked optimisation.
pls get mythic rating you really deserve it, 2000 hours that's.. I can't even imagine it I don't even have the good motivation to create a basic effect level, probably because I'm a beginner creator.. but really GREAT job at making this, 2.2 is insane..
you should make a platformer level, but it might take a while, but i think you could maybe make a platformer lever better than anarchy road, and you might be able to get the second ever mythic
