This has to be one of the most criminally underrated videos I’ve ever stumbled upon. I absolutely love your storytelling and the way you truly have a love for this game. It really warms my heart to see so many people give this game the praise it deserves, giving credit to the insane dedication the community has and the great things RobTop has done over the last decade Incredible video 💙 You’re gonna make it big, I can tell
Dude your name made me unlock a core memory I have of me timing you out for no fault of your own in a GD livestream in 2018, I think you annoyed me because you were having fun in the chat and I wasn't or something petty like that. And I pretended it was accidental. Sorry for that man
this was definitely worth the watch, like you even look at the game even better than many other players do. It's not something that gets recognised a lot, especially with all the effort that RobTop has put into this wonderous platform for everyone to enjoy, and you brought it all in with a story to go along. On behalf of the community, thank you :) P.S. that's my level over there at 54:34, another thanks for a little promo lol
This is genuinely one of the best video essays ive ever seen. You deserve so much more recognition than you have. I was shocked to see that you dont even have a few thousand subs.
Genuinely insane, i expected this to be one of those videos i'd watch for a few minutes and leave shortly after but everything about this is perfected. Story telling, editing and voice over. You told such a strong point about everything. My favourite part is about the end of infinity level. You seemed more to focus on having a fun time and being creative then trying to perfect something in-order to please others. I Always stand by this but i find that things are only perfect if they're not perfect. This game always stood out to me as a creative canvas i could use for projects and you described it perfectly. You're incredible underrated. Keep doing what you're doing. Its incredible :)
Holy shit this is insanely good! I don't get how you can just exist here with no subs and no views pumping out an insane video like this! You need some recognition real bad.
This might just be the best analysis of geometry dash i’ve ever watched, even surpassing samifying, though not in production value of course, but that makes this video all the more special!
That's one of the nicest compliments I've ever gotten for anything, thank you so much. Samifying makes some of my favorite videos on the Internet, so to be compared at all means a ton to me.
Just got recommended to me, I’m sure within a few uploads the algorithm will eat this content up cuz this is some high quality stuff. U are insanely underrated and talented in storytelling!
this is honestly one of the best geometry dash videos I've seen. it constantly amazes me how many drastically underrated people are in this community. you've got my vote for best video in the GD awards. never stop doing what you love, and keep up the good work!
This is such an amazing video. I just finished it and it did NOT feel an hour long. You captured my love for every aspect of this game perfectly. You’re a talented content creator.
You forgot the music 😭 the music is probably part of why that all the level creativity and community is even possible. If we were still stuck to the same main level songs, there wouldn't be nearly as much interest in the game, because people would get bored with the songs. As for me personally, the music is probably the part of Geometry Dash that changed my life the most. I fell in love with all the songs in all the different levels and now have been creating music for over 5 years, which I can all attribute back to finding Geometry Dash. other than the music, great vid :)
One of the best video essays I have ever watched. You deserve so much more recognition for this. I love that you put the name and the ID of the levels in the bottom corner. I wish more TH-camrs would do that. 10/10 video, keep it up! Also, the ending made me chuckle.
I love this video sm, especially how u put the name for every level in the bottom corner as it is being shown (colon does this too), so viewers can easily check it out along with how u chose some of the most visually pleasing levels in the game, but bro how did u not show any xender game levels such as White Space, Dream Flower, Ultra Violence, Shards of Siberia or The Escathon lol
This video just explains everything I love about Geometry Dash in such a perfect way I wouldn't probably be able to do. I got ghoosebumps watching it multiple times. Man, I love this game, the community and all the epic things it brought forth :) Thank you for making this video, it's a masterpiece! And thank you RobTop
Incredible for only your second video! This is amazing. I thought you had like 100k subs or something before I checked your channel (and subscribed) can’t wait to see what you make next!
This is hands down the best Geometry Dash video I’ve ever watched, this video essay outshines every other type of Geometry Dash video there is for me, absolutely outstanding work. 43:39 Though I might add that when an obstacle is freely rotated, it can only touch the secondary player hitbox that rotates with the player, whereas if it’s not, it can only interact with the primary stationary player hitbox.
This video was so much more heartwarming and well put together than it appears on the surface, and that is why I just subscribed. Make more videos like this, you have a great talent for it.
I loved this video. I havent submitted the gd awards 2024 nominee suggestion form yet but I will definitely put this video as my suggestion for my favorite video. its crazy that a video of some random impossible layout that I made (which is now privated) had almost 100x the amount of views of this when it should be the opposite
finally, THE perfect video on this subject. storytelling, accuracy, presentation and argumentation is top notch. your voice is very calming as well. i'm subbing
p.s. this video also filled me with gratitude for robtop's efforts. while he still has his flaws in designing games (including some objectively unfair features of the main levels), he was still able to attract such a massive community of people who play the game with passion, not with money in their mind (unless we're talking about waboo, fuck that guy)
Watched this entire video, and I can say there’s absolutely no way in hell this type of content only deserves not even a thousand views. You deserve 100k subs and I look forward to what you do in the future. Subbed and liked the video asap.
I am a very happy GD player. Thank you for making this video/documentary, I've genuinely enjoyed watching this. Nothing bad to say about it, good job (+1 sub). Edit: you're goated for using a creo song at the end. ;)
goated video. honestly, that feeling if being at the end of an extreme demon is indescribable. I love how you mentioned that time slows down and how your heart drops every time you nearly die. Ive been there many times myself, and beating a level of that difficulty especially when it means something to you is its own unique feeling. Honestly, that section alone makes this video one of the best geometry dash videos ever. really good job.
The video essay is beautifully made! I might consider nominating for GD awards :D Also I did not expect to see a Angela Collier mention at 25:57, absolutely based channel
this is awesome, i wish this type of video would actually reach more people that don't know much about gd but that's sadly just not how the algorithm works. Praying for this to go big time big somehow, seriously amazing work dude :>
Dude genuinely amazing video that is genuinely engaging without being overstimulating I wish you the best of luck and know you will continue to grow. Best of luck!
man, this video is just perfect, i've never seen anyone talking about this game exactly in the way i feel about this game and it just makes the video even better. thumbs up!
i never really watch very long form videos because they usually get boring after just a little but this is a really well put together video and it really got me hooked. you're crimminally underrated. -i love you-
Absolutely incredible video. I saw your post on the gd subreddit about it and tucked this away in my watch later playlist, and just finished it now. You perfectly encapsulated what makes this game so special, and how it’s managed to not just stay afloat but thrive despite such a long period between updates. I was fully expecting this to have tens of thousands of views by the time I got around to watching this, and seeing that not be the case is just criminal. You can bet I’ll share this around, you’ve absolutely earned it.
This video perfectly explained everything I love about GD and at the same time, despite telling me things I know and agree with, keeps me engaged and makes me want to hear more. Please keep creating because this video is a masterpiece. By the way, I love that your video about Geometry dash, an initially small game with love and understanding poured into it, is on a small channel that obviously has lots of love and understanding too. This video inspired me and simultaneously has me hopeful for the success that your channel hopefully will achieve!
this is a seriously incredible video the little bits for the actual players like "at 100% speed, does this look possible to you?" being said with a straight face is just amazing i am not even halfway done yet and getting chills all over
55:04 has got to be one of the most relatable things ive hears someone on geometry dash youtube say. I could go on and on about how many different times have i came back to the game, playing it initially all the way back when i was as little as 7..(?) and then coming back in 1.6 - 1.8, 1.9 - 2.0, and finally the many times i took "breaks" suring 2.1. The creator of this game has fascinated me ever since 1.6, despite me never really 100% finishing a level as i intended at the begging. The creator always felt like a place where i could express myself, but my lack of motivation never allows me to finish the levels like i imagined them in my mind. I am creating a level right now, and have another idea of a level, hopefully this time i can make it work. Great video bro, super relatable!
Seriously WHAT THE HELL?! I am not exaggerating when I say this, but this may be one of the best geometry dash documentaries I have ever seen. You encapsulated the entire history of this community perfectly in only less than an hour, which is nearly impossible considering how diverse and rich the decade long history of the game is. This is an amazing game, and I love the creativity it presents. You showed that love for the game better than I have ever seen. That’s astounding! Seriously how are you this good! The attention to detail is immaculate, and the storytelling is amazing. The crazy thing is that you only have 600 subs. YOU DESERVE 100k IM NOT EVEN JOKING! The quality of your work is amongst the likes of Samifying and GMDblue. How does this video only have 9k views. This is actually unfair that you aren’t getting more attention because this video is actually insane. Whatever you have planned in the future, please have video making be that. I still can’t believe the algorithm hasn’t pushed this video out, because it is truly a masterpiece. That’s no understatement. You have a great talent. You are amazing :)
The part where you described you beating cataclysm was very cool! The whole video was well made. I can think of so many things that contribute to the quality of this video. Thanks for making my day better!
You are destined to be a successful youtuber. Everything from your soothing voice, to the absolutely NAILED pacing and atmosphere (especially considering it’s your second video). Please continue uploading, great video essay… I subscribed!
This is one of my favourite videos in existence. I can't believe it's not as popular as it should be after four months. Seriously good stuff man, this is awesome.
This is THE Geometry Dash overview video, and I hope it gains you many subscribers. This video is phenomenal, from the conveying of emotion in the Cataclysm part to the ending actually making me feel sad it was over. This is a great video. Almost too great.
This is one of the few videos that does geometry justice. And by far the best at representing the game as a whole. Loved every second of it and it exactly picks up the emotions, that make the game so special
Awesome Video! I will definitely vote for it on the GD Awards Suggetion Forms! You put together so well a lot of the essence of the game, thank you so much
the feeling of getting your own level rated is one of the best feelings ever. i remember seeing my level getting featured, and i damn near cried. seeing your hard work get recognized is an amazing feeling
Hi, just wanted to pop in and say that this Video is great. Really, really great. Kinda suprised it doesn't have more views, but oh well, doesn't matter. You get my Like and View.
I really loved this video. Your experiences with the game very closely echoed my own. This game is so special to me and you’ve definitely explained how incredibly well in this video. I hope the algorithm picks this video up, because it’s incredibly well made.
This is one of the BEST videos i've seen in a long time. After the end, I literally could not believe you just have 400 subs. I loved every bit of it and the cataclysm part made my heart go crazy. Thank you for this experience!
This is an incredible essay video about Geometry Dash. For me, the only reason why I became so attached to it is so I can share my own levels to other people (with or without design lmao. I still haven't a fully decorated level). The way how you deliver it is just top tier bro. You deserve a subscribe.
One of the greatest videos I've watched, perfect understanding of why this game is what it is. There's a reason I've stuck with it for almost a decade :)
Best Geometry Dash video I've seen so far. I already love this game for years, now you made me love it even more. I haven't played for weeks now, and I think I'm gonna start grinding levels again starting today. Well done man.
Don't think I've ever seen an emulation of the anxiety of beating a hard level executed as well as the cataclysm section I was holding my breath and cheering as you crossed over the final structure
Brilliantly edited, Brilliantly written, and Brilliantly captivating. I am beyond impressed. You spoke so eloquently and kept me engaged throughout. After seeing the amount of time and energy you put into this, I am extremely proud of you. Please continue making videos like these; I look forward to your next masterpiece. Excellent job, 10/10! Sorry if the cracks on the ipad gave you any trouble.
This video was nothing short of fantastic, the 1 hour went by extremely quickly! I could even start feeling my heart beat towards the end, as it made me remember all the good times i had on this game, the hype when updates released, the adrenaline rush when finishing and releasing a level you worked on for so long, the meetup with friends, being on the edge of my seat for the GD awards, hoping my favourite level will win, ect.. GD will forever be my online family, no other games made me feel that community feeling that strongly Also GG on cataclysm, you so pro :)
This video was sitting around 5k views when I watched it a few days ago, and now it's surpassed 16k, highly deserved growth and I hope it keeps growing from here. It was a pleasure watching it and really underrated!
absolutely PHENOMENAL video. i love to see a good gd video essay make the rounds in the community. excited to see more things that you make! subscribed!
this is one of if not the best video on youtube I have ever watched, I have watched many gd "documentaries" on races to beat levels such as silent clubstep and acheron, I have watched every top one in the history of gd, I have watched the history of gd. I think that If I watched this video with no prior knowledge of gd, I would want to buy the game, I would feel like I already know so much about it, I watched this video and it did not feel like an hour. (thats how you know the video was good) I doubt that I will ever come across a gd video or even youtube video that comes close to the quality of this, keep going you are severely underrated, hope this wins best gd video. (guys lets see if we can get robtop to comment) guys I did NOT just write a whole paragraph glazing this vid trust
hey man! i saw this video on a discord server and was watching a preview of it until i realised i should've clicked on the video lol. video is awesome and gripping! I'm def going to watch this as much as i can in spite of my uni assessments hope to see more from u!
I've never felt so good about why I have put so much time into the game, and this makes it feel like it was all justified. Phenomenal Video. It reminds me a lot of Samifying's videos and I hope you make more documentaries on GD in the future! Hope it gets nominated for best of 2024!

I still can’t believe the algorithm hasn’t pushed this video out, because it is truly a masterpiece. That’s no understatement. You have a great talent. You are amazing :)
watching this as i finish bg3! i absolutely love your vids already

What an awesome video! The thing I love is that you also added your own personal spin on it, talking about your first collab, beating cataclysm, etc.
28:23 this is what a real jumpscare is, i could recognise that text in that font from a mile away
The pacing is really really good and I love that you gave the ID for said bad strereo madness remake at 9:16
this video is a masterpiece
when i watched i assumed this would come from a channel with like 500k subs, you are SO UNDERRATED
Congrats on the feature! That's such an amazing accomplishment.
55:16 I love the sync here, This whole video is so amazing
phenomenal video man, this deserves so much more recognition
One of the greatest videos I've watched, perfect understanding of why this game is what it is. There's a reason I've stuck with it for almost a decade :)
Great video. perfection from the start to the beginning
Best Geometry Dash video I've seen so far. I already love this game for years, now you made me love it even more. I haven't played for weeks now, and I think I'm gonna start grinding levels again starting today. Well done man.
11/10 video! This is truly amazing content and you deserve way more subs!!
BRO YOU ARE UNDERATED AF YOU DESERVE LIKE AT LEAST 100K OMFG
Just finished watching, absolutely amazing video, it perfectly describes Geometry Dash
GD will forever be my online family, no other games made me feel that community feeling that strongly
Also GG on cataclysm, you so pro :)
This video was sitting around 5k views when I watched it a few days ago, and now it's surpassed 16k, highly deserved growth and I hope it keeps growing from here. It was a pleasure watching it and really underrated!
Absolutely loved the video, definitely one of my top video essays in general now, and on top of that it's about my most played game.
This is gd awards winning quality, what the fuck, YOU ARE SO UNDERRATED, THIS VIDEO IS AMAZING!!!! :3
absolutely PHENOMENAL video. i love to see a good gd video essay make the rounds in the community. excited to see more things that you make! subscribed!
Amazing video my mans! This genuinely needs more attention with the quality & production this has!👏
Genuinely an underrated gem of a video, this sums up my experience so well and make me go through every little thing all over again
this is one of if not the best video on youtube I have ever watched, I have watched many gd "documentaries" on races to beat levels such as silent clubstep and acheron, I have watched every top one in the history of gd, I have watched the history of gd.
I'm def going to watch this as much as i can in spite of my uni assessments
hope to see more from u!
thank you for making this video its really good i watched all the way through
I've never felt so good about why I have put so much time into the game, and this makes it feel like it was all justified. Phenomenal Video. It reminds me a lot of Samifying's videos and I hope you make more documentaries on GD in the future! Hope it gets nominated for best of 2024!
