Spinosaurus, the main antagonist of this film, is a Dinosaur from Northern Africa, ranging from Morocco to Egypt. At the time this film was made, Spinosaurus was a very poorly-known Dinosaur, because the only major fossil specimen of it had accidentally been destroyed by a daylight bombing raid during World War II. So this film put Spinosaurus as the main antagonist to try and bring him into the spotlight. However, it ended up backfiring and making Spinosaurus an extremely controversial Dinosaur, especially when it easily killed a T-Rex (in reality, Spino would have been DEAD after the first bite it got from the T-Rex). As more and more fossil evidence of Spinosaurus was uncovered by Paleontologists, we came to realize just how wrong the film's portrayal of this Dinosaur was. The real Spinosaurus was a Dinosaur that spent most of its life in the WATER and primarily hunted fish (its teeth are hollow and cone-shaped, like a Crocodile's, its jaws can't absorb a lot of stress from hanging onto struggling prey, its tail looks like the tail of a moray eel or sea snake, and its sail on its back (where its name comes from) was probably used to help it control its body temperature and prevent hypothermia from setting in if it was spending most of its life in the water). It was NOT designed to hunt big game like T-Rex was, so in light of all this new scientific evidence, the Jurassic Park/World writers have actually had to go back and retcon the Spino's backstory. Known officially as "Asset 87", they've re-written it's origin story as a Dinosaur that was HEAVILY experimented on and genetically modified by InGen so that it only barely resembles the true Spinosaurus. And because of this experimentation that was done on it, it actually developed a severe GRUDGE against humans and always tries to kill them every chance it gets.
@@majorbombas nope , Also the spino didn't stand upright like that.. It maneuvered more like a monitor lizard on all 4s , spent like 90% of their life in water
Another fun reaction. I have another movie reactor whom I watch, and she felt just as betrayed as you did when she learned that Alan & Ellie did not end up together. I find this movie to be a lot of fun. I like it more than the second movie. Yes, the parents are stupid, but there are always fools in these movies. Besides, we watch these movies for great dinosaur action and we get it. I love Alan's nightmare when he sees a velociraptor talking to him. I look forward to your eventual reactions to the Jurassic World movies, you will enjoy them. Love your shirt!
The dinosaur with the fin, it’s call a “Spinosaurus” it was “illegally bred” by ingen on isla sorna in 1999, it was being experiment for a total of 9 months being “treated cruelty” it was a quote accident left on sorna in just 2 years this animal reach 43.8 feet long 13,3 meters long weighs about 8 tons and 16,000 pounds this animal was just 2 years old, this is due to the “growth accelerates” which makes it grow faster, it is also known as the “trex killer”
Its a split fan theory whether the Rex that fights and dies to the Spinosaur is Junior, the baby Rex from Lost World. Fun fact: One of the screen plays for this movie had the Raptors fighting the Spino toward the end and either the Spino eventually dies after taking out a good chunk of the Raptors, or limps away defeated and the Raptors do the same with their numbers sufficiantly reduced.
Enjoy your reaction so much. I'm glad you didn't think it was terrible. You probably already saw people commenting about the production issues and I feel its great that the movie is as good as it is. That talking raptor is a huge meme but as goofy as it is... We've all had rediculous dreams or nightmares that make no sense. I always saw it that Alan is clearly deathly afraid of raptors and is suffering from ptsd. Like I said it probably didn't need to be in the movie but I've certainly had more rediculous dreams than that. Looking forward to Jurassic World if you plan on doing them ☺
Great video, absolutely hilarious. First, the look on your face when you look at the camera, realizing that Ellie and Grant did not get together. So funny, I replayed it twice, couldn't stop laughing. After that, you saying, "how do you know what you're saying? Maybe you're saying a swear word." That was also hilarious. At the end though, saying that Ellie and Grant not getting together broke your heart, "I hate that," that was cute and really funny. I used to feel the same way, then I read the books and in the books, they don't get together either. In the books, she is more of a student, so she might have been 20 years younger than him. Not that that is a deal breaker, but in the movie, they are much closer in age. She does marry a physicist from Berkeley or something like that in the book so, at least it's Canon.
In case you were curious, Jurassic Park and Jurassic World were made by 4 different directors which means a trajectory of the story, different scriptwriters and different design artists, so yeah things seemed kinda weird but I know that I'm late.
I love this movie. I know about the production issues and I think they did a good job with this last minute story. For me it is plausible as storyline. And Alan Grant is my favourite Character in all the films. And Eric is as great as his parents are annoying. I don't take it too serious, but it is good entertainment.
The actor that did Udusky the guy that was killed by the Velociraptor also did the clown in Air Bud, and William H. Macy who did Mr. Kirby also did Carl Knox in Down Periscope,
Another great reaction from a beautiful reactor. This is my least favorite of the three JP movies, but still fun to watch. I loved your stunned reaction when you realized Alan and Ellie weren’t together, and your reaction to Alan saying “Nothing on Earth or Heaven could get me on that island” made me laugh.
Fun fact, that t-rex was alot smaller then the t-rex from the first film and even the second film, although they used the same animatranic as they did on one of the rexes on the second film,it was still a smaller rex at only 37 feet in length, believe original rex was 44 feet, and buck was 43 and dough was 42..also a t-rex had the strongest bite of any terrestrial animal that ever lived, should have crushed the spinosaurs verdibrae, and also had a much stronger head then spino so when it headbutted spino, should have hurt it much worst..but this is just a movie, science fiction so yeah i guess this is a spot light on another dino
My own opinion, but the Pteranodons were already loose. They lived in the "cage" as they felt safe there. Remember, Isla Sorna was abandoned eight years prior during a storm, and The Lost World, Jurassic Park film was 4 years after JP and 4 years before this one. You can't tell me there weren't already holes in that cage. Besides, if Grant and Kirby could maneuver under the fence in the water, why couldn't the Pteranodons? And what else could get the guys on the boat? Besides, wasn't it THIER bones in the Pteranodon nest from eight weeks prior that the kid jumped over? The water was too rough for a land dino to just swim out there, kill the men, and swim back? Makes no sense. But the gate staying open is a weird plot point if they were already loose.
Not knocking JP3 too much, because it is what it is, but it was plagued with production issues and an unfinished, unfilmable screenplay. So, the filmmakers sort of winged it and cobbled together a very basic movie. That's why you ended up with a weird talking raptor dream and a magically loud cell phone in the stomach of a giant, very silent and sneaky spinosaurus. Stan Winston and his effects team, given no real script, basically took over the show and just had fun with their animatronic creatures for 90 so minutes.
I didn't really like JPIII because of the fact that they killed the Tyrannosaurus rex, my favorite dinosaur and that talking velociraptor fever dream. I will say that I do love interjecting my own dialogue into this scene: Paul: That's a bad idea!! Amanda: What's a bad idea?! Spinosaurus: ROOOOOOOOOOOOOAR!! Me: That, you loud-mouthed dumbass.
