I love that as soon as you saw the Spinosaurus, you immediately compare it to a crocodile! When this movie was made, not too much was known about Spinosaurus at all. Many scientists thought the dinosaur was just like a T-Rex and hunted on land. The scene where the spinosaurus was swimming in the water was a creative license of the movie and it ended up being the most accurate. Nowadays we know that Spino must have spent most of its life in the water like a crocodile
KrazyKoto And the primary reason WHY not too much was known about Spinosaurus is because the only major specimen of it was accidentally destroyed by the daylight bombing raids of World War II.
Indeed. Apparently Egypt where the genus primarily lived used to be wetlands millions of years ago; Spinosaurus has several traits that are adapted to being in and around water and for fishing.
@@catgirl6803 If I remember correctly, the lore we've learned through the newer movies and the Camp Cretaceous show, InGen was working on a lot of questionable things and I believe the secondary island that they're on in this movie is where a lot of that shadow work was done.
@@catgirl6803 If I also remember right, in 1999 after Hammond died and Masrani took over (InGen might have merged into Masrani's company), shadow preparations were done for Jurassic World. Scientists returned to Sorna to create new dinosaurs for the park. This was illegal, though, due to the Gene Guard Act Hammond put into effect on Sorna (why the island was restricted air space too); they ended up completing 4 illegal species, all of which were seen in this movie: Spinosaurus, Corythosaurus, Ankylosaurus, and Ceratosaurus. Afterwards they abandoned the animals until Jurassic World transferred many/most animals off Sorna to be a part of the new theme park on Nublar. (We didn't see what anyone did with the Spino until the new season of Camp Cretaceous). I'm of the mind that the Spino was also a very early experiment by Wu on mixing dinosaur DNA, explaining its hyper-aggressive behavior (other than possible mistreatment) and stature like its cousin Suchomimus.
It's so refreshing to see someone actually enjoy JP3. I loved the movie when it came out and still do. It's not my favorite of the franchise but it's still great.
I loved Spino before i ever watched jp3 but when he was the main dino in a movie for once i was really happy to see such a magnificent animal get its chance
I actually loved this movie. I definitely remembered more about it then the second movie. The ringtone will forever remind me of the Spinosaurus phone scene, and the Pterodactyl walking on the bridge gave me chills when I was a kid.
Shritistrang I'm not sure I agree with you about Spinosaurus being the "most well-known example" of predatory Dinosaurs that were bigger than T-Rex. I think that honor actually belongs to Giganotosaurus. He's certainly the one that I immediately think of when I think "bigger than T-Rex".
@@kevinnorwood8782 Well apparently giga dosnt fit either degree of being longer or heavier. It’s just hyped up that way. Now giga cousins may be a better fit for that honor.
Hey Newfie, loving this reaction. Spinosaurus goes thru an update every few years as more skeletons are studied. Mostly now Spinosaurus is considered a mostly aquatic ambush predator like the crocodile
The first ever found spino skeleton was found in egypt by a german in 1912 and destroyed by the allied forces in WWII. We had a lot of knowledge about that anymal that is surfacing again now.
In the first movie, Grant and Ellie were sort of dating, but it was never really elaborated on. In the third one they've become platonic and Ellie got married and had a baby. In the book, Grant and Ellie are just colleagues.
Two of the favourite things from this movie is when Alan says he was never on this island but the other one. And when Alan calls Ellie and the kid pics ups, starts watching Barney but gives the call to Ellie and is like the Dinosaur Man and then Ellie coming through in the end! Amazing!
There was supposed to be a much more epic ending to this but they ran out of budget (I mean the ending is a bit anti climatic). Not the best Jurassic Park film but I still enjoy it.
Of the five movies, I rank them: 1. Jurassic Park 2. Jurassic Park III 3. Jurassic World 4. Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom 5. Jurassic Park The Lost World I own #1-3 but can't bring myself to waste my money on #4-5, even if it would complete the collection.
@@quizzabella The ending was anti-climatic but there had been so much packed in to the movie that by the end I was ready for it to be over so I didn't mind. One more attack would have been eye-rolling inducing.
Most people hate the fact that Alan & Ellie didn't stay together. I ship them too but for me personally, it's mainly the Spino and T-rex fight. I always loved T-rex so I hate that scene. And I think some of the actor's acting is a little weak. You can tell it is not a Spielberg movie.
Velociraptors irl were not as intelligent as apes, BUT Tyrannosaurus, however, in real life, are currently believed to have the intelligence of a Chimpanzee
Oh nifty, I knew I couldn't be the only one to take note of that echoey quality to the T rex roar. T rex had that cavernous mouth with awesome acoustics. PERFECT echo chamber. Also that red dinosaur is a ceratosaurus....and I always thought he just didn't want to eat humans covered in Spino shit and walked away in disgust, muttering to itself.
as a kid out of all the movies and dinosaurs the spinosaurus was the one that scared me the most.... just because it kept popping up wherever they went 😂
I like your reaction ! "buddy system, buddy system ...!" 😂 Real. I don't think anyone wanted to be alone there. Looking forward to the next one with you...Jurassic World.
There was a Jurassic Park book that had elements from the first 3 movies. The main takeaway was that since the dinosaurs are related to birds, they have an inherent urge to migrate. They aren't just happy living on an island forever. Here are some more fun facts.. The San Diego scene from the second movie, where the boat came into Port and all the crew were dead was because young raptors had climbed aboard and were playing on the boat when it set sail. They had to eat something 🤷♀️ And for the first movie, in the book Dr Grant and Ellie are much farther apart in age. Ellie is a grad student and Dr Grant's intern. They closed the age gap to give it more of a romantic feel. Also in the first movie when that triceratops was sick, Ellie (whose study was paleobotany) figured out that like some birds, the triceratops must ingest small stones to help digest its food. And in ingesting these small stones, it was accidentally taking in some toxic berries from the surrounding plants. At the beginning of the second movie, when we saw the family on the beach with the little girl, that scene was at the beginning of the book, and the book went on to explain that the dinosaurs had something in their saliva that kept bite wounds from closing up and healing properly. Possibly a toxin? So anybody that gets attacked by a dinosaur needs serious medical attention. Last one :) The pterodactyl scene in the third movie was described in the book. Originally the 'dactyls were going to be a stop in the park. There was going to be a Treetop Lodge that would let guests see the animals up close. Unfortunately they soon found out that pterodactyls were incredibly territorial, and they started divebombing the workers. Like dropping out of the sky and ramming into people hard enough to stun them.... and then picking the person up and dropping them from way up high to break the bodies into bits for easier eating 💀... so work was put on permanent hold. I enjoyed the book though, it was full of the more scientific background info that the movie skimmed over.
Oh, that "The closer the water, the bigger they get" bit is the idea of game trail and how plant/meat eaters relations work. The small animals can drink from puddles etc. Bigger ones come to browse from rivers. Big herbivour gets to one for a sip, and there might be similiary sized predator or pack of meat eaters ready to pounce on it nearby.
These reactions have been awesome! I can't wait to see your reactions to the Jurassic World films. Those movies go back to themes set up in these movies in such a great way!
About the theories why the spinosaur is so obsessed with the humans: I personally like to go with the theory that cooper and the other mercenaries killed it’s offspring when they were in the Forrest. My arguments: the did. know how to use weapons as we saw earlier yet the missed the Hughes spino all the time? (There are nu injuries of their explosive munitions visible but the plane crash is) number two: there was a concept for and an juvenile spino animatronic. Third one and most important one to me: coopers injuries when running on the airstrip don’t really fit an adult spinosaur hitting a human since he just has a bleeding arm. As I said it’s just a theory not claiming anything here
Interestingly, when Alan says "Some of the worst things imaginable have been done with the best intentions"; as a kid, I thought he was referring to John Hammond and the first Jurassic Park; But as an adult, even thought it's not mentioned in the movie, when he says "Some of the worst things imaginable", I strongly think he was referring to Germany and the rise of Hitler . . .
I think in the end it's a question of personal preferences but if you try to argue about it from a way of storytelling, sfx and cinematography, it can just loose compared to all the movies.
Before the comments section gets to crowded (and before I've even started to watch the video) it was the Pteranodons that attacked the boat at the start, there were free roaming fliers on Sorna before the events of this movie (like at the end of the second one). Many think Spinosaurus for some reason, but the Spinosaurus doesn't make sense since it would demolish that small boat and probably be unable to keep at pace with it. You can see the tears in the canopy as well, like from a sharpened beak and talons :)
@grimlock1992 did you not see the Pteranodons flying freely at the end of the second film? JP3 had a troubled production, and a scene where Grant and the others find that same boat wasn't filmed where Grant would warn the others "They are in the trees!". Trust me, it was the Pteranodons. One poster for this film event features a Pteranodon silhouette over it.
I always liked Jurassic Park 3. Yes, it was an ankylosaur and it's my favorite dinosaur too! (little battle tanks!) I loved seeing pterosaurs as they were always a popular dinosaur for most. But what I really liked most about this one was that it raises more questions...some of which get answered in the newer series - Jurassic World.

Joe Johnston; who directed this movie, also directed the 2010 reboot of The Wolfman. That's why the jump scares in this movie are so good, and why this movie's so scary at times
Realistic Trex Vs Spinosaurus: Spinosaurus a bite-force of 2 tonnes described by palaeontologists as having a weak bite-force for its size Vs Trex with a 6 tonne bite force, ramming ability and was found to be able to kick with force and even its hands are known to be flesh hooks to cling to its prey… spinosaurus also couldn’t do any damage even with its claws, trex’s bones and muscles were extremely resistant and powerful and dense.
It's hilarious still listening to people complain and still compare the 2 dinosaurs for 21yrs straight now and everyone knows trex will win just end it .
That larger dinosaur is Spinosaurus aegyptiacus. One of the largest carnivores, rivalling trex in size, slightly smaller, aquatic, and with fewer flaws, its balance and reach were better, but less bite force
That thing that has been chasing them this whole movie is called a Spinosaurus, and it IS bigger than a T-rex. Not only that, but T-rexes have tiny arms. Spinos arms are a lot longer, so they also have that to their advantage.
The Spinosaurus is also incorrect due to the fact that it’s one of the earliest Hybrids created by Dr. Wu. He was making all manner of things without permission on the island for years before Jurassic World
The viral marketing for both Jurassic World films actually expanded on JP3 with some juicy lore... Spinosaurus and other new dinos like the "red T-Rex" (Ceratosaurus) are the product of secret experiments that happened inbetween The Lost World and this movie Ingen were illegally cloning new species, after the islands became restricted following the San Diego incident, and modifying existing ones - hence these raptors sporting mohawks
I don't think people hate on the films, just this on in particular is the weakest. #4 (the next one, Jurassic World) is pretty great, though! Hope you continue with these!
Finally found reaction to this, it's not a masterpiece but good fun adventure in the JP universe. Also good nostalgic memories because I first saw this while doing my military service and there was rare free time opportunities to see almost new movies in theatre for cheap, this was one of the few I got the opportunity to see. One of the movies was Sleepy Hollow, one of my favourites that no one is reacting to for some reason.
Absolutely loved your reaction to JP3. It's nice to finally have one of the better YT reactors react to this film and quite refreshing to see you actually enjoy the film. I personally think JP3 is underrated. Glad you liked it too. Edit: you gotta move into the Jurassic World films now.
When used the raptor call. The lead raptor heard a copper in the air if you listen closely after he calls for help. they think he called for his own back up.
Yay I am very happy that you reacted to Jurassic park III one of my favorite movies and you did not start comparing it to the original Jurassic park movie.
32:10 The raptors ran because they heard helicopters in my opinion. Yeah Grant was trying to confuse them but they only ran away after hearing the helicopters.
I don't think (from remember this scene) it was a 3D printer, it was likely a CNC machine, a computer controlled cutting router. The fact it had excess material around it suggests that. Of course, you wouldn't be able to do the chambers, so I am not sure if its real or hollywood.
It get'S the hate b.c. it's just a good movie (not for me, i hate it) while 1-2 were amazeing (just ignore the SF shit at the end of the second movie :D
This builds up to Jurassic world as Dr Wu was creating new dinosaurs for the park and things went wrong with the spinosourus and that. Hopefully u watch Jurassic world and jurassic world fallen kingdom and battle at big rock. And I recommend camp Cretaceous series on Netflix
I remember at opening night in Australia 2001, when Spinosaurus killed the T-rex I thought I wonder if that was the infant from the lost world that they try so hard to save but dies from human interaction again!
Fantastic! Fantastic! Always fun to find a new reactor watching old classics. If I can make a suggestion Ild suggest watching the original dragon heart movie from 1993 I think? It also uses fantastic cgi and mechanical elements.
10:45 The problem I have with the Spino and Trex fight is as soon as the Trex grabs it by the neck it should have been game over. Spino has a thin neck and Trex has the strongest bite force so it's bullshit it just shook it off.
Grant and Sattler were going out in the first film, they since went their separate ways. The idea of the Spinosauraus eating the phone isn’t original, it looks like a crocodile and the idea came from the crocodile in Peter Pan eating the alarm clock so you always know when it is coming.
Wagwan Newfie I gotta apologize brudda been watching u for bout a month or 2 an me nvr subscribed but today the day. Ya man big ups to u blessings brudda hope 2022 is the year your channel go BOOM💯🙏😈
8:03 Spinosaurus is indeed bigger, and equivalent with the T-Rex I believe would be Albertosaurus and Carchardontosaurus. Though biggest land predator, to my knowledge, was the Giganotosaurus. So yes there are bigger ones, T-Rex is just the most iconic for the general public.
That movie was really good and breathtaking how there’s only lost world and lost world to and if you want there’s a Jurassic Park show on Netflix where kids get stranded on the island During lost world
Just an FYI cuz I love these films I believe the spinosaurus was one of the first in this series that had multiple dinosaur DNA’s spinosaurus aren’t as big in this movie about half the size of a T. rex but I think because of the mixed DNA it grew bigger than it was supposed to
The red one with the horn on it's nose is called a Ceratosaurus and it isn't related to the T-Rex and it doesn't belong to the same family, so it's not a T-Rex. And Spinosaurus isn't 30 feet tall, it's about 20 feet tall max with the sail
It’s not a hybrid it’s just a illegally modified dinosaur and also it’s not a juvenile all dinosaurs in the Jurassic franchise have growth accelerates so they can grow faster like rexy and that ceratosaurus was born in 1999 and it already reached its full size in 2001 it’s confirmed Spinosaurus reach its full size jack Anthony ewins confirmed it
This is actually a really good movie. I think the only reason people don't like it is because that chick is always screaming or being annoying in some kind of way.
While JP3 is my least favorite of all the movies, it does have its own lore. According to several sources, the Spino was only two years old in 2001, thereby making it still a juvenile. Just imagine how big it would be now.
i actually liked this one better than the second one. JP2 had too many plot holes. oh and theres a star trek voyager episode where they meet a species that evolved from one particular branch of dinosaurs on earth. its called Distant Origin. season 3 episode 23. it was pretty cool actually.
It's not my favourite as well, but i dont hate on any of them,i hope you gonna do jurassic world series too,for me those are my favourites, altough many hate does as well. I dont try to pick on this movie with this as i like it,i just find it intereseting so maybe someone will find too,Spinosaurus was a fishing dino, you are right its habitat is similar to a croc or aligator,it lived near water and mudy areas however was not an only water thing same as crocs,T-rex and Spino lived in different eras,so in reality would never meet, but since they were created in this case they did, however its very unlikely that they would fight since their pray is mainly different. Of course its a movie and i dont try to explain why its not good because it is,just maybe someone is interested to know :) Hope you do Jurassic World, for me those are the best Happy New Year

Spinosaurus a bite-force of 2 tonnes described by palaeontologists as having a weak bite-force for its size Vs Trex with a 6 tonne bite force, ramming ability and was found to be able to kick with force and even its hands are known to be flesh hooks to cling to its prey… spinosaurus also couldn’t do any damage even with its claws, trex’s bones and muscles were extremely resistant and powerful and dense.
Well I think Trex is taller and heavier but Spinosauras is longer.
The Spinosaurus is also incorrect due to the fact that it’s one of the earliest Hybrids created by Dr. Wu. He was making all manner of things without permission on the island for years before Jurassic World
Sadly this theory is incorrect as proven in Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.
The viral marketing for both Jurassic World films actually expanded on JP3 with some juicy lore...
Spinosaurus and other new dinos like the "red T-Rex" (Ceratosaurus) are the product of secret experiments that happened inbetween The Lost World and this movie
Ingen were illegally cloning new species, after the islands became restricted following the San Diego incident, and modifying existing ones - hence these raptors sporting mohawks
Thanks!! Just finished recording Jurassic World that second actually! It was mind blowingly amazing!
from 2 east coasters on the mainland, thanks for reminding us what its like to hang with the fam jam! subscribed and feeling less homesick
When used the raptor call. The lead raptor heard a copper in the air if you listen closely after he calls for help. they think he called for his own back up.
I just realized that Udesky was Mr. Noodles brother, Mr. Noodle.
"Safety descend" well Ben was impaled by a stick on the way down which is the reason he was killed lol
I don't think (from remember this scene) it was a 3D printer, it was likely a CNC machine, a computer controlled cutting router. The fact it had excess material around it suggests that. Of course, you wouldn't be able to do the chambers, so I am not sure if its real or hollywood.
I never understood how they could create the resonance chamber with a milling cutter. 😂 same.
I love it when this franchise is watched by people who don't know jack about dinosaurs
I loved the bird cage scene 😍
It's a good movie. Don't understand the hate it gets. But I'm excited to see you watching the next two films.
It get'S the hate b.c. it's just a good movie (not for me, i hate it) while 1-2 were amazeing (just ignore the SF shit at the end of the second movie :D
Hooray! You’re the first one doing JP3. My personal fav of the series and no one else has done it. On my list is also Die Hard 4 and Men In Black 3.
Who doesn't love Dinosaurs.
20:15 Close it’s spelled Ankylosaurus and the red T-Rex is called a Ceratosaurus.
Ankylosaurus*
I love your videos, thank's for all your hard work❤️
Glad you like them!
10:45 The problem I have with the Spino and Trex fight is as soon as the Trex grabs it by the neck it should have been game over.
Spino has a thin neck and Trex has the strongest bite force so it's bullshit it just shook it off.
Trex sadly wasn't the biggest predator in Dino history but it did have a powerful bite.
The Flyers in this movie are also Pteranodons
Grant and Sattler were going out in the first film, they since went their separate ways. The idea of the Spinosauraus eating the phone isn’t original, it looks like a crocodile and the idea came from the crocodile in Peter Pan eating the alarm clock so you always know when it is coming.
I've often wondered if the tyrannosaurus rex that got its neck snapped is the juvenile that had its leg broken in the second one 🤔
What I searched up is that the spinosaurus was the largest carnivorous Dino
Well longer and taller. T.Rex weighed a lot more and was built like a beast
The T-Rex that was fighting the Spinosaurus was a younger T-Rex, 2 or 3 years old.
My boy Dr. Grant 😁
28:38 Gotta go all Arnold and cover yourself in the shit 😂😂
I'm going for the T-Rex!
Me: Oh no
Hahaha... Yup.
Billy had good intentions. He stole the eggs to repay everyone as they were told they were gonna get money for this whole thing.
That movie was really good and breathtaking how there’s only lost world and lost world to and if you want there’s a Jurassic Park show on Netflix where kids get stranded on the island During lost world
Just an FYI cuz I love these films I believe the spinosaurus was one of the first in this series that had multiple dinosaur DNA’s spinosaurus aren’t as big in this movie about half the size of a T. rex but I think because of the mixed DNA it grew bigger than it was supposed to
25:36 Even though Pteranodon literally translates to “Toothless Wing”, so add that to the list of things these movies got wrong.
My favs went 1, 3, 2 for these movies, but I like all of them. I never understood why people didn't like 2 or 3
The red one with the horn on it's nose is called a Ceratosaurus and it isn't related to the T-Rex and it doesn't belong to the same family, so it's not a T-Rex. And Spinosaurus isn't 30 feet tall, it's about 20 feet tall max with the sail
Guess what the spinosaurus is not fully grown it's a juvenile and it's technically the first hybrid that ingen made
It’s not a hybrid it’s just a illegally modified dinosaur and also it’s not a juvenile all dinosaurs in the Jurassic franchise have growth accelerates so they can grow faster like rexy and that ceratosaurus was born in 1999 and it already reached its full size in 2001 it’s confirmed Spinosaurus reach its full size jack Anthony ewins confirmed it
Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous confirms it’s not a hybrid rather I presume based of the information at the time.
You cant be allowed to watch Jurassic Park movies by yourself. This is a definite need a friend to watch with you movie.
I called it 🤩 #earlysquad
Lol if you send the Marines you get the Navy by default.
You are correct it is an Ankylosaurus.
Raptors would have evolved to wear pork pie hats.
If you want a good idea of what Raptors could evolve into as a dominant species, check out the Turians from Mass Effect
My favorite scene was the showdown between the t-rex vs the spino-sorues(Sp)
This is actually a really good movie. I think the only reason people don't like it is because that chick is always screaming or being annoying in some kind of way.
They were a couple in the first one but they obviously wanted different things.
Welcome to the 21st century buddy boy
While JP3 is my least favorite of all the movies, it does have its own lore. According to several sources, the Spino was only two years old in 2001, thereby making it still a juvenile. Just imagine how big it would be now.
Star trek voyager, episode distant origin. Hadrosaurs evolved and evacuated earth before the asteroid hit.
i actually liked this one better than the second one. JP2 had too many plot holes. oh and theres a star trek voyager episode where they meet a species that evolved from one particular branch of dinosaurs on earth. its called Distant Origin. season 3 episode 23. it was pretty cool actually.
Before I watch, just gotta say, that shirt is awesome !!!
Thanks! I love it!
Of course its a movie and i dont try to explain why its not good because it is,just maybe someone is interested to know :)
Hope you do Jurassic World, for me those are the best
Happy New Year
Spinosaurus doesn't hunt T-Rexes it just killed that one on the movie
I love Jurassic Park 3! Much prefer it over the 2nd which is my least favourite from this franchise!
1:27 You've been to Jamaica? My home country 🇯🇲 👍
Yup! Went there on vacation many years ago. It was sooooo beautiful!
I'm new to your channel but damn how have you not seen this movie yet?
My favorite dinosaur 🦕 is spinosaurs
