i built a ghostbuster backpack for halloween. It took me 7 months and it's movie accurate. I think ghostbusters is a superb comedy. Perfect casting, pacing, original storyline, scary but funny. Not a single bad scene. Even the receptionist took her small role to great heights "Ghostbusters whaddyawant?!"
What has to be the best hidden joke in all of cinema lay in how the Keymaster of Gozer, Louis Tully, was forever locking himself out of his apartment whenever he went to talk to Dana, the Gate Keeper. It's almost as if they were trying to signal that, while these two may get together briefly, in the end they will be stopped. Also, if you'd like some additional lore...The Grey Lady, formerly Dr Elanor Twitty, the name of the ghost we see at the beginning of the film in the library, has a dark past. She had an affair with a book lover/collector named Edmund Hoover, who used her to gain access to the Gozerian Codex, to aid Shandor in his quest to bring about the end of the world. Hoover is reborn as Sumerian demi-god Azetlor the Destroyer, which was also called The Collector, and is handily defeated by the reformed Ghostbusters.. The game is considered cannon in the series.
This is my favorite Siqourney Weaver. I never got past the first Alien movie due to nightmares. When Ghostbusters came out I remember everyone; adults and children, dressed as a Ghostbuster character for years after. It was huge movie at the time.

Aria how ironic the only actor you recognized was Bill Murray, because Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis (the other 2 Ghostbusters) had written Murray's part for legendary comedian/actor John Belushi but John tragically died of a drug overdose while they were writing the script. Aria you should definitely take a look at Belushi's career. He was along with Aykroyd one of the original members of the Saturday Night Live cast and his movies though few were memorable especially Animal House and The Blues Brothers with Aykroyd is one of my favorite comedies of all time.
I can heartily recommend Ghostbusters 2, but I haven't seen the remake or the one that came out last year. Tropic Thunder is a favorite of mine. Can't wait to see what you make of it.

I liked this movie because it was science fiction, with some comedy and running a brand new business. I always fast-forward the part when the female ghost is above Ray's bed. (That part probably could have been cut out.) All-in-all Original Ghostbusters 1984 was the best of the four movies. Followed by 1989, 2021 & the movie (with the women) that doesn't have anything to do the Ghostbusters #2016.

While Director Ivan Reitman and writer Dan Aykroyd are credited as producers it’s rumored that their creative input was pushed aside by the president of Sony pictures. It’s boycott by OG fans led to the Universally praised sequel in 2021.
You should check out Ghostbusters afterlife, it's an amazing tribute to Harrold Ramis/Egon Spangler you might need a couple tissues for the ending though.

Aria, the second Ghostbusters film is not quite as good, but it's still fun... then you can jump over to "Ghostbusters: Afterlife." The 2016 film has nothing to do with the official (Dan Ackroyd and Ivan Reitman approved) franchise and is terribly unfunny and a real insult to the GB fans.
The second Ghostbusters movie is ok though no my cup of tea. I do suggest watching Ghostbusters Afterlife (2021) because it's outstanding. You don't need to watch the second Ghostbusters to watch Afterlife since they don't reference the second film at all in Afterlife.
Ghostbusters 1 and 2 are the best. Stay away from 2016 and Afterlife. Season's 1 and 2 of The Real Ghostbusters cartoon is also great and surprisingly a bit mature. The cartoon is consistent with the spirit of the original Ghostbusters movies.

This movie is very conservative if you think about it: Three scientists are CANCELLED by the head of a very liberal college for their beliefs and ideas. Like any good capitalists, they then go into business to sell their services and franchise rights. They also work with local law enforcement in some extreme cases. When they become successful, an unelected federal bureaucrat from the EPA comes to attack and shuts down their business. The "Gatekeeper" is a woman and the "Keymaster" is a man. A local elected public official, hoping to serve the people who elected him into office, sides with the scientist businessmen and kicks the evil federal agent to the curb. The scientists do battle with a "pro-choice" pagan deity that tramples a "pro-life" Catholic Church. In the end, our hero scientists banish the evil pagan deity and the man gets his girl. Fun Fact: When Louis Tully (Rick Moranis) mingles with his party guests (commenting on the price of the salmon, and so on), the scene is one continuous shot, and almost entirely improvised (as with most of the best lines). Zuul's Trick Fact: Sigourney Weaver floating is an actual physical effect. The actress was put in a full body cast and attached to a post hidden in the curtains. According to the DVD commentary, the effect came from Ivan Reitman's Broadway experience. Ghostbusters 2 is more kid friendly because of The Real Ghostbusters cartoon (1986-1992). But, still enjoyable. Ghostbusters Afterlife is a must watch. 2016 Ghostbusters is more like an SNL parady with bad CGI used for the ghosts.

Aria, the second Ghostbusters film is not quite as good, but it's still fun... then you can jump over to "Ghostbusters: Afterlife." The 2016 film has nothing to do with the official (Dan Ackroyd and Ivan Reitman approved) franchise and is terribly unfunny and a real insult to the GB fans.
The second Ghostbusters movie is ok though no my cup of tea.
I do suggest watching Ghostbusters Afterlife (2021) because it's outstanding.
You don't need to watch the second Ghostbusters to watch Afterlife since they don't reference the second film at all in Afterlife.

Ghostbusters 1 and 2 are the best. Stay away from 2016 and Afterlife. Season's 1 and 2 of The Real Ghostbusters cartoon is also great and surprisingly a bit mature. The cartoon is consistent with the spirit of the original Ghostbusters movies.
You should go to Ghostbusters Afterlife next. It's a direct sequel to this one.

This movie is very conservative if you think about it: Three scientists are CANCELLED by the head of a very liberal college for their beliefs and ideas. Like any good capitalists, they then go into business to sell their services and franchise rights. They also work with local law enforcement in some extreme cases. When they become successful, an unelected federal bureaucrat from the EPA comes to attack and shuts down their business. The "Gatekeeper" is a woman and the "Keymaster" is a man. A local elected public official, hoping to serve the people who elected him into office, sides with the scientist businessmen and kicks the evil federal agent to the curb. The scientists do battle with a "pro-choice" pagan deity that tramples a "pro-life" Catholic Church. In the end, our hero scientists banish the evil pagan deity and the man gets his girl.
