The black mold in the basement could be about how if your body is the house then the basement is your subconscious. The black persons who were forced to undergo the procedure are trapped in their subconscious, no longer have control of their bodies, the house, but are still in it.
Also at the party everyone there was wearing in some aspect of Red and while Chris and that one other black guy were both wearing Blue. This is definitely some sort of symbolic political division in our society

“You come out of a situation like this, how can you live a normal life after this?!” “Welcome to a glimpse of what black people enslaved, their descendants, and even now, have gone through and go through.” Jordan Peel, the director , in interviews he discussed how this is an satire on how slavery is the same, it is just in a different form. They literally had a slave auction. * Before people jump on me for saying this, these are the director’s thoughts on his the purpose of crafting this scenario of race relations in the context of a suspense /thriller.
I'm glad they didn't go with that because that would have felt so unsatisfying that after he went through all the shit he gets put into even more shit; Chris needed at least a decent ending after that nightmare
Bradley Whitford admitted a couple years later that his sincere delivery of "I would have voted for Obama a third time if I could" is because he actually didn't realize it was supposed to be a condescending "limousine liberal" line. And he fully acknowledged this made him exactly the kind of person the film is attacking.
Tbf there is nothing wrong or offensive about saying you like Obama to a black guy. Yes he made the assumption that he would like Obama just because he’s black but it is true that like 90% of black people do support democrats over republicans
@@christucker7655 It's more that at the time this movie was made, right after the 2016 election, that line had become THE major cliched thing for clueless white people to say to black people to make themselves sound like allies.
@@Rmlohner So, the fact that a White person liked Obama and would've voted for him a third time was somehow verboten to say to Black people Because they are White people speaking to Black people? How about if it's said to other White people? Would it be okay to say to other White people? What if a Black person said it to Another Black person, because Obama was a Black President? Would that be racist? Or... What if a Black person said it to a White person? What if That happened? What if a Latino said it to a Black person, or vice versa? What if an Asian person said it? Is it because Obama was a Black President? What are the parameters?
The one thing almost everyone misses from this movie is that the guy in the very first scene who got kidnapped is the one who attacks Chris (the one who came with the older lady) at the party. That’s one of my favorite things about the movie. You have to watch it multiple times to catch everything.
Everyone is saying people missed that it was the same guy from the opening scene. I didn't miss it on my first viewing, but I know the actor, so that's probably why.
As a Black man in America, I LOVED watching your reactions. Of course, the reaction of Black people is a bit different. For one thing, all of the things that amazed you and creeped you out, are everyday, common occurrences to us. For most of the film, I was baffled by the thoroughness and accuracy of the creepy events, as I am one of those people who still thinks that it is POSSIBLE that our issues could all be just a matter of misunderstanding and lack of sensitivity to some of their actions and remarks. But there is a significant portion of the black population that believes to the depths of our souls that this film is a docudrama, and that White America is just aching for an ethnic genocide. You two young men though, have shown me that there is indeed hope that when we oldsters finally die the country will continue to inch forward and not stumble backward. BLM is not the problem, but AARP is.
We all need a friend like Rod, if he had left when Rod told him to there wouldn't be a movie lol. Rods save lives Edit: and as far as are there people like this?.... Dude.... with 1000% certainty, that's a plus to the writing of the movie, how it uses realistic behavior.
@@tanelviil9149 I hate it when celebrities & the media promote anti white propaganda too but what does Get Out have anything to do with being anti white?
I read this from another comment on another reaction to this movie. Buck was referred to a big strong black male, so her hitting a buck when driving and the father being stabbed with a buck skull is 100% intentional.
This was Jordan Peele's first movie; y'all should watch his second movie "Us" , its also a scary movie and its good. I heard that for the main character he got the role because Jordan Peele had him do the scene for the audition where he's being hypnotized; I heard that he was able make tears come out of his eyes on the spot 4 times in a row; and , thats when Jordan Peele told him right there that he got the role.
I love all the subversions of common black stereotypes. The surgeon is killed by the head of a buck; "Buck" was a term used by slave owners to distinguish an exceptionally strong slave. And he literally "picked the cotton" from the chair to stuff his ears and stop the hypnosis. Beautiful.
This is one of those movies that rewards you for multiple viewings! Perfect example "This is the Kitchen. It was my mother's favorite room and we keep a piece of her here." Fuckin creepy!!!
I was shocked to learn that Chris (Daniel Kaluuya) is British. A couple of things I missed the first time - the reason she didn't want the cop to see Chris' driving licence is that she didn't want to leave a paper trail of him. She eats the cereal separately because one is coloured and the other is white. The reason the son tried to fight Chris at the dinner table was to assess his strength and see if could get out of a headlock, which he tries on him at the front door. There is an alternative ending where the cop who pulls up at the end is the one you expect from the deer accident and Chris does go to jail.
The "not wanting to mix cereal" thing doesn't have to do with anything racial, Jordan Peele just wanted her to be eating it in a weird way. The whole point of what the family is doing is putting their white minds into colored bodies. They're not trying to keep them separate.
Thank you guys for your great reaction, saw this movie in the cinema, whole time on the edge of my seat. Curtis when you said "aboard conversation" I was LOL. Hats of to Jordan Peele. His second movie Us is mindblowing. The movie Antebellum did remind me of Get Out. Love your channel

The deer scene is real, happened to me, I was driving to college in upstate NY and a deer jumped out and crashed into my roof at the top of the windshield and went over the top of my car and ran off, smashed my windshield, dented my frame on my windshield and scratched the shit out of my hood and trunk on the way over. It was crazy
Jordan Peele is an amazing actor, writer, producer, and director. If you haven’t watched yet, I recommend y’all watch another Jordan Peele movie called “Us”.
Oh my God I love this movie. And when you look at it a second time, it's even more amazing because all the details make sense. He used the cotton from the chair to ultimately escape...... Cotton....... All the people show up in black cars = white people inside of black vehicles. Blue is only ever worn by the black people & red is only worn by the white And so much more 😭
A little crazy feature that a lot of people miss when they hit the deer and the cop asks too see his license she wasn’t being a good girlfriend standing up for him. She didn’t want any cops looking for him when he’ll go missing that’s why she didn’t want the cop to get his name and address.
Great reaction! You guys are quickly becoming my fav channel 🤗 & yes, some people do act like that. You'd be surprised by what some folks think is ok to say/do.
I've seen Get Out several times and it's an outstanding movie. When one of the twins stated "How do you live a normal life after this experience" I never thought about that . How would he be able to trust another person again? Chris would have to look over his shoulder for the rest of his life. One of the people that went through the transplant procedure could possible come after him. He can't get psycho-therapy because if tells this story, he would be committed to a mental institution.
I don't think i seen yall make faces like that with movies..lol loved the reaction ever since i saw this movie the only time i drink tea is at home by myself. Movie had me thinking about a lot. Everyone please stay safe and blessed much love from San Antonio
I would love to see you guys react to Blackkklansman. It's really a great movie and I haven't seen anyone do anything with it on here, but I think you'd like it and have some good things to say.
The producer of this movie (Sean McKittrick) is a childhood friend of my dad, and he has worked on many movies. When I met him, he told me that Catherine Keener was a drunken nightmare to work with on set.
This is a good one to watch again to catch all the subtleties once you know the ending- the one for me is at the beginning with the cop and she acts like she's sticking up for Chris by challenging the cop and refusing to show his ID- in reality, she doesn't want the cop to see Chris's ID because she knows he's going to go 'missing' and doesn't want that link to the traffic stop. A really clever movie!
Yeah. Now you know why this film was such a phenomenon! But that ending, was actually a last minute change by Jordan Peele. In the original planned ending, instead of Rod pulling up in his security car, it WAS gonna be the police, and Chris was to be blamed for all the murders!
there's so much symbolism and details you notice upon multiple viewings of this film. like the girlfriend eating her 'colored' cereal separate from her 'white' milk when she's in her bedroom at the end of the movie. or chris essentially having to "pick cotton" from the chair to save his life when he's trapped in the basement. or the quick line at the beginning about grandpa being bitter he lost an olympic race to a black man when he was younger...so we see him constantly running and trying to show how fast/strong he is throughout the movie now that he's in a black man's body. jordan peele is a genius.
Love the reaction. This movie is a big love letter. I love that cotton (what kept people enslaved amongst other product) also freed him. The irony was fun. Jordan Peele (who is married to a white woman and half white himself) did excellent. His wife also gets how ridiculous it is to murder based on skin tone. I’ve gotten told the Obama thing 3 times every time it makes me cringe. People like his wife and yourselves are what’s needed. Humans are humans. Always. The fear when cops pull behind you is definitely real. This movie is perfect because it puts you in the mind of Black people sometimes when they’re uncomfortable and don’t know how it’s going to go just based on sight and knowing they’re not allowed to defend themselves. The cereal thing is to keep the “colors” separated from the white milk.
I love how annoyed and angry these guys got to the normal questions that I've gotten my whole life, especially when the cop came. In my life I've learned it's just easier to do what they want.
I just randomly had a thought about the deer they hit. The deer as a black person metaphor, they were just going about their business on the road (white person driving with no intention, black person in the car with no control but aiding) and the deer was devastated, destroyed along their way. Long story short, Jordan Peele is dope.
The suburbs can definitely be kinda creepy. Especially at night because it so quiet and nobody’s outside. Exactly like in the movie. Im a woman and I would feel way more comfortable walking around a busy city at night than a suburban neighborhood. because what happened in the movie can easily happen to you and it’s so unexpected because the environment seems so safe, that’s what’s scary.
Agree 💯about the hypnosis thing. In fact, as part of my psych minor in college, we did a hypnosis session. Everyone in the practicum went under, at least a little bit. Except me. I didn’t go under AT ALL. It simply didn’t work on me. The hypnotist said I have trust and control issues. I said “Really? Even though I’m not the one that goes around putting people in vulnerable and suggestive states in order to poke around in their brain and control their thoughts while I have all the power?” I got a C in that practicum. 😂
I'm guessing that Rose had a little of her mother's talent and picked the ones, for the trip home, based on how susceptible they were to hypnotism. It would be disappointing to the family if Missy told the person to go to the Sunken Place, and they were like, "Nah, I'm good. Thanks." 😏
“He’s far too gone” did it for me! Love this reaction you guys should definitely watch Us next. Also Candyman is going to be produced or written by Jordan Peele. I cannot wait to see that!
Sad thing about is Andre Hayworth ( the dude that snapped from Chris's camera flash) is still in the trance. There's no GETTING OUT for him. Chris cant help him, doesn't even know where Andre is. The maid & yard keepers are dead, only way they could be free of this. But poor Andre will be in the Sunken Place til he dies. "Us " was ok but Get Out is still Jordan Peele's best so far imo. You guys are awesome 👍🏽🔥
I'm hoping something else will snap him out of it. Missy is dead so she can't reinforce it, but I wonder if they had some sort of backup if Missy was not available. It seemed like a big operation, so they could possibly have others involved that are not just 'buyers'.
You have to watch the alternate ending scenes. They were on the dvd release. They are on youtube now. Good stuff, Rod being Rod. Then please watch A Bronx Tale! Gotta get that in there lol.

And how they said that the mother love the kitchen so we keep a part of her in here and it cut to the scene of the lady standing in the kitchen behind the counter... super creepy👀
@@lkgloki4986 exactly bro
@@lkgloki4986 and also her not really knowing the slang he used
When I was in the theatre and watching this for the 1st time, the moment the groundskeeper(grandfather) was running towards Chris before his hypnosis is when I knew he was the grandfather and Georgina was the grandmother I just didn’t know how they did it yet
I love this movie once you found out all the clues it makes it even better
I totally agree, once you put all the pieces together it really makes you appreciate the movie more; I love it!
Yea how it wasn't that she was defending him from the cop at the beginning she just didn't want him leaving a trace.
This movie must be watched a second time because there are SO many instances of foreshadowing and little moments that mean something after you know what's happening.
Im glad yall are going to stick to movie reactions on this channel
- The guy at the beginning is the same guy at the party “GET OUT”
- She didn’t want the cop to take his ID for OBVIOUS reasons now
- Dad tells Chris that there’s black mold in the basement (Black peoples bodies being used as mold)
- Grandpa running in the middle of the night because he COULDN’T do that in his body before and he wants to beat JESSE OWENS time
- They want him to eagerly stop smoking because it’s DAMAGING the body they’re trying to to get in
- Everyone pulls up to the party in black vehicles (bodies)
- “GET OUT!”
- He literally was freed by picking cotton
- Heading out the brother finally gets his MMA/JUDO/JUJITSU fight that he wanted with Chris
- The main point of cereal is mixing the cereal and milk together but Rose decides to keep them separate LOL
- He stops to save the grandma after he hit her because HIS MOTHER died from a hit and run (Same thing with why he couldn’t shake the deer from his mind)
- Chris didn’t want to “Get chased off the lawn by a shotgun” but in the end… Gets chased off the lawn by Rose shooting a gun at him
There’s also an alternative ending that you can watch on youtube
The "not wanting to mix cereal" thing doesn't have to do with anything racial, Jordan Peele just wanted her to be eating it in a weird way. The whole point of what the family is doing is putting their white minds into colored bodies. They're not trying to keep them separate.
@@JasonZakrajsek not entirely true..if you remember history of this society, segregation happened and that scene symbolized keeping the WHITES (milk) away from the COLOREDS (Blacks) ..cmon dude
I hate that they missed that.
“You come out of a situation like this, how can you live a normal life after this?!”
“Welcome to a glimpse of what black people enslaved, their descendants, and even now, have gone through and go through.” Jordan Peel, the director , in interviews he discussed how this is an satire on how slavery is the same, it is just in a different form. They literally had a slave auction.
* Before people jump on me for saying this, these are the director’s thoughts on his the purpose of crafting this scenario of race relations in the context of a suspense /thriller.
There was an alternate ending where a real cop shows up instead of rod & chris ends up going to prison
I'm glad they didn't go with that because that would have felt so unsatisfying that after he went through all the shit he gets put into even more shit; Chris needed at least a decent ending after that nightmare
Facts that alternate ending was wild
@@OctoKrool watch alternate ending u gotta feel the ending
OctoKrool Very unsatisfying, BUT depressingly rooted in reality 🙃
Glad they didn’t do that😳
Bradley Whitford admitted a couple years later that his sincere delivery of "I would have voted for Obama a third time if I could" is because he actually didn't realize it was supposed to be a condescending "limousine liberal" line.

I absolutely missed it the first few times, I didn't even realize it until I was watching a reaction and the reactors had pointed it out XD
@@laurencarolina636that’s the only reason I realized it.
37:15 to answer your question: yes! we call those micro-aggressions.
Real talk!!! I had a white coworker tell me how she runs her son's adopted black daughters arm cuz she thinks it's so beautiful 😬😬

Everything you stated 💯💯💯💯
As a white woman from the rural Midwest, I can guarantee that the majority of white people would absolutely stand up against a racial genocide.
We all need a friend like Rod, if he had left when Rod told him to there wouldn't be a movie lol.
Rods save lives
Edit: and as far as are there people like this?.... Dude.... with 1000% certainty, that's a plus to the writing of the movie, how it uses realistic behavior.
I almost wished his name was Sam instead of Rod. Cuz everybody needs a trusty Sam.

What make you think the brothers will catch the many horror movies Easter eggs in "Us" if they didn't catch any symbols/metaphor in "Get Out"?

Who else cheered when they got it was an auction? 🙋🏾♀️ I was hoping they would get all the themes of the movie
This movie scares me SO MUCH. It's brilliant! A Psychiatrist being like this, the Sunken Place, it's truly Nightmare Fuel.
“Get Out” Is The Best Documentary I’ve Ever Seen. Glad You Guys Enjoyed It!!
I heard that for the main character he got the role because Jordan Peele had him do the scene for the audition where he's being hypnotized; I heard that he was able make tears come out of his eyes on the spot 4 times in a row; and , thats when Jordan Peele told him right there that he got the role.
also this if the type of movie where u have to watch it again or read about it just to understand on a deeper level😭 & catch things u missed.
I love all the subversions of common black stereotypes. The surgeon is killed by the head of a buck; "Buck" was a term used by slave owners to distinguish an exceptionally strong slave. And he literally "picked the cotton" from the chair to stuff his ears and stop the hypnosis. Beautiful.
Wasn’t expecting this to be the next video but I’m here for it. Also add Baby Boy to the list

you're already revealing way too much of the plot.... imo it's best enjoyed going in completely blind
Classic!!
The Skeleton Key is the only scary movie that creeps me out still to this day.
The failed fist bump gets me every time.
Daniel Kaluuya was nominated for a bunch of awards for this fabulous performance

The brother wanted to know how athletic Chris was which is why he ask about mma.He wanted to know if Chris would be able to put up a fight when they attacked him but Chris said he wasnt a fighter which made them more at ease to go through with the process

@21:07 the timing in which Curtis understands what's going on and the Dad holding up the Bingo card - "chef's kiss"!
A little crazy feature that a lot of people miss when they hit the deer and the cop asks too see his license she wasn’t being a good girlfriend standing up for him. She didn’t want any cops looking for him when he’ll go missing that’s why she didn’t want the cop to get his name and address.

This movie scared the shit out of me when I watched it for the first time. Probably more because I could relate to it.

Great reaction guys I loved it lol I been binging alot of yall videos just now commenting but keep going love all the commentary at the end 😊
Y'all are addicting to watch. Every other minute I died laughing!! This movie creeped me the hell out but it's one of my favorites!!!😂😂😂😂
The original/"alternate" ending--in which Chris winds up arrested--is tragic, but it's a more realistic outcome, which is depressing as fuck.

Yeah both of those movies are a trip bruh.
Definitely watch “US” it’s by the same person who made Get Out
Agree 💯about the hypnosis thing.
Thanks." 😏
Or he could've never agreed you cant hypnotize unless someone gives you permission and access to your mind.
And she seemed to pick people that probably didn’t have relatives

I think Hitchcock would've liked this movie.
